  • Karna: Was he really good?

There has been a lot of discussion in YA and other sites, regarding who was better, Karna or Arjuna. In the Mahabaratha. There were many points put forward to show that Karna was really a nice man etc. But there is one particular incident in The sabha Parva, which ideally leads to this question. In Vyasa Bharatham, When Draupadhi is brought to the court by Dusshasan, Karna is the one who asks Dusshasan to Strip Draupadhi. Then only others Join. Is this the Charecter of a Good man.

Of course People can reason it as, Karna was Angry over Draupadi, who openly said she wont marry him, But is it not the right of a woman to decide whom to marry. And will a nice man do such a barbaric act?

The month of Margazhi (Margasirsh in Sanskrit) or Danur masam of the Hindu calendar is considered extremely holy. Shivas ArudraDarshan comes in this month. Vaikunda Ekadasi comes in this month. Aandals Tiruppavai and Manikkavasagars Tiruvempavai is chanted during this month. Music stands tall. Temples have special early morning pooja (Ushat Kala Pooja). In Bagavadgita Krishna himself says, Masanam Margaseersho Asmi. What is so special about this month. Can anyone throw light?

Leaving behind Hinduisim, Christmas and the Christian new year falls within this month. Bakrid of Islam comes within this month. Buddhists, Jains and also Sikhs consider this month Holy. Some tribes have their Harvest Fest within this month. Many countries celebrate various traditional fest during this month. Why this month becomes special?

  • Veda Vyasa / Krishna Dwaipayana, what do u think, is he an incarnation?

It is logical that a single person cant do such tedious works as done by Vyasa. So do we consider Vyasa as an Incarnation of the Lord Himself.

Do u go with English Scholars version on Vyasa that it is not a single person but many persons over a period of time. If so how r those wrks so similar?

Also what do u think of the works of Vyasa.

  • In another month India will be celebrating its 60th Independece day . Have ur say.?

This Hard Earned Freedom was from the English and other forces. Now we r governing ourselves and we r in the largest working democracy.

We have a succesful secular system now, where, a Sikh prime minister was voted to power by 90% of Hindus and selected by a Christian who is the Head of the ruling Party and was appointed by a Muslim President. Of course Authorization was given by a Hindu Chief Justice, and the elections were conducted under a Hindu who was the Election Commisioner.

Now What do u think as the best thing that happened to this country in the Last 60 years,.......and the last 3 years separately. Also specify the worst.

What do u think we should do to make the country a super power. You r welcome to give elaborate answers.

Should India be Called as Barath only. why and why not?

    Have ur say........ Jai Hind.

  • One sloka of the Bagavad Gita says work and reap the benefits. Another asks us just to pray. What to take.?

    The sloka,

    " Karmanyevadi Karaste Maphaleshu Kadhachana

Ma Karma Phalahe Durbo Matesangatsvali Karmani" ( 2- 48)

asks us to do our karma ( Work) and says that the benefits of the work will be rewarded.

    Another,

    "Ananyas Chintayantoma YeJana Paryupashathe

    Teshamnityabhiyukthanam YogaKshemamVahamyaham"(6-5)

says that a person who dose not do any work, but constantly prays to the Lord about the welfare of the society, will be looked after completely by the Lord, and he need not even do his work.

Now - Prayer or Work - What is Krishna asking me to do.
