CAN A Downs Syndrome person ADOPT?
My friends daughter has downs syndrome. She is married and teaches in a school for special children. They do not have children and therefore wish to adopt. Many of the adoption agencies in India have denied her - not openly - but they have just said "no babies"..
Is it possible for a Downs Syndrome person to adopt?
10 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoShould I let them decide?
My son and his girlfriend have decided to get married after going steady for 8 years. I am ok with it - in fact I have been very supportive and I like my future daughter in law too. But the hitch is that I wish she would go through a conversion which she is reluctant because I feel then her acceptance would be even better in the family. I look at the long term prospects of thier children growing with dual identity and mixed values because of these differences. Also it is embarassing as I have to invite a number of guests in the community whom I cannot avoid. I wish they will understand. I have assured her that it is more for a social reason. Am I being unreasonable.
