I'm fairly new to the game, and i'm struggling to find friends. Facebook is like a ghost town, and when i add people i find online, i send them a request, and when i return later, it says "no friend requests sent" any idea why it would do that?

I never really understood the reasoning behind losing points for asking questions. As if i'm being punished for not knowing something (I know it's only a few points but you know what i mean)

Surely asking questions is what keeps this site afloat?

Okay, my original question was a bit harsh, and poorly thought out, so I'll ask a similiar question, and be more civil in my wording.

I don't mind people enjoying horoscopes and the study of astrology, but do some people take it too far? There are plenty of askers on this website asking questions along the lines of:

"Should I date a Leo?"

"Is a sag man compatible with a Virgo child?"

"Should i take the job if my boss is a Pisces?"

...is this not taking it a bit far? should people really make life decisions based on star signs? Is this not counter productive to society, and more importantly the person making the decision? 2 People could be soul mates and never know it becuase their 'signs don't mix well'. It just seems a bit silly, to me, to allow a prediction to influence life's decisions. People are more than capable of deciding for themselves and it saddens me to see people not using their own brains.

There's no way horoscopes can hold any water, the entire planet split into 12 groups based solely on what time of year they are born? What happens if i meet someone of the same star sign who is absolutely nothing like me? Why are the predictions so vague and open to interpretation? you could pick any old star signs horoscope and it would apply to you somehow or other.

I believe in personality types, but not based on what time of year i was born, but on my DNA and upbringing. It makes heaps more sense that way.

Hi, I'll keep this brief. Basically I've been with my GF for just over a month, so I still have tons to learn about her. Everything seems okay so far but there is one issue that is currently causing me all sorts of horrible feelings in my belly. Her best friend is a male, and they are pretty close. I've never met him face to face, but I know they have met up when I'm in work. They have known eachother for years, and went out for a week a few years ago, but split up because "it felt weird/wrong". But I see him calling her 'beautiful' and 'sexy' on FB and it's making me not trust him. I hope I'm just being silly and jealous over nothing, but basically - can a boy and a girl truly be best friends? Or will one always secretely have feelings for the other? Please share your opinions or stories :)

Help me, I'm losing interest in some of my favourite websites becuase MLP is actually taking over. Knowyourmeme, funnyjunk etc, I don't mind the odd pony-post, but lately it's like 3 out of 4 posts are MLP related. I'm not one for slagging shows off, but is this not getting a little out of hand? I'm fairly confident that it's just a fad, and people will get bored of it, but as it stands right now, i'm losing my patience!

...and why do so many of those damned ponies sit around in sexual poses, drawn like humans, saying naughty things... that is CREEPY.

Just thought i'd ask around here becuase I have a fault with my PC and it's starting to irritate me now. Basically, upon booting the PC up, starts up like normal, single beep, BIOS is accessible and whatnot, but after that all i get is "windows did not start successfully", and the usual choices (boot to safe mode, last known good config etc...) and regardless of which one i pick (tried them all) i get a flash of blue and the computer restarts.

It have tried re-imaging the machine (it seems to boot to CD, but not all CD's - namely, it won't boot to the microsoft repair disk) with a clean image i took when i first set the machine up, however it isn't solving the issue.

I've got a good sense that it';s a hardware fault, however i've tried replacing the RAM and it's done nothing. If my memory serves me correctly, there is a way to get BSODs to stay on the screen, however is it possible to do this through the BIOS? Or am i perhaps missing the point completely?

Help! (if you can!)

Okay... I've googled this, and not had much luck.

Basically, I was playing PES 2012 the other night, and just as a match was about to kick off (i'd played a few already) the xbox went silent, and the famous 'disc unreadable' error popped up. Slightly annoyed, i opened the disc tray to wipe the disc and to my horror, there was black soot around the edges, and dark smudges all over the disc layer itself. I also noticed black powdery soot around the disc tray itself.

Th xbox was not unusualy hot, and the 'soot' just wiped off mostly, but what freaked me out was the disc itself, the dark smudges all over wouldn't wipe off, they seemed to be 'under' the outer layer on the disc... paranoid that i'd gone and nuked my mates game (i was borrowing it) i popped it back in and hoped it would work - and it did!

After the little scare, i installed the game on my HDD as to prevent it having to run off the disc anymore, and I can happily say I haven't had an issue since,t he game works fine. But I still don't know what this black stuff was, it looked like soot, and it wiped off like soot, but the disc looks absolutely wrecked, i'm amazed it actually works!

Anybody else had this?

Hi, i've just had my first tatoo done, and i've used this 'bepanthen' cream as advised by the artist. Only thing is, it's pretty thick pasty stuff, so you have to be somewhat firm with it, i noticed the ink smudged as i applied it, and little black bits came off it. is this normal?

I've had to ask this again, i'm going to watch this new twilight film 2morro. I've not seen ANY of them, i'm assuming they follow on like one big story. I basically need, a condensed plotline of everything that has happened in the previous films, leading up til this one. Basically, i want to be able to understand what the hell i'm watching.

...and yes, i'm going becuase a girl asked me too, I want to look interested and stuff - to make her happy :D

Hi, someone I know wants to end her phone contract with vodaphone - the only issue is, the contract is under her ex-boyfriends name. They had a nasty breakup and she really doesn't want to contact him. Is there any way she can get this done?

Right, this is an odd dream, and I doubt it has any real meaning. However someone might be able to shine a light on it, or atleast parts of it...

I meet up with my mates, and a girl I fancy, we have plastic bags full of alcohol and we intend on getting drunk. We go to a hedge maze to get drunk, but when we get there, a small gang of thugs are already there. I decide i'm not having some thugs ruin my day, so I go over and tell them to go, they kick off, we have a little scrap, and then they run off scared.

We start drinking, I'm pleased that the girl i fancy is getting on well with my mates. Then i wander off from the group, and get lost. I decide i want to head back to my mates, but the whole world goes pitch black and i can't see a thing. I start feeling my way around, scared i'll never find them. Then suddenly i can hear them calling my name. I eventually find them, and the world goes light again. They tell me they were worried about me, and thought i'd got lost.

The girl i fancy then leads me away from the group to my parents car. She then proceeds to lay cheese slices on the back seats of the car, i join in. After a while, i say "is that enough cheese now?" and she says no. So we continue laying cheese slices out for a bit. She then proceeds to pull sheets out of a newspaper and places them over the cheese, and says "just perfect" and we sit on the sheets. She tells me my bum is too cold, so i start rubbing my bum on the sheets to warm it up. She then laughs, and tells me i can stop doing that now.

Hi, i'm a 24 year old male. I've been single for around 3 years, and recently (about 3 weeks ago) i've started chatting to an girl i knew from a few years back. Back in the day, we would flirt, and spend huge amounts of time on our webcams, always talking about the great things we would do when she splits up with her boyfriend. However, she never did split up with him, so in the end I lost interest and we drifted apart.

However - about 3 weeks ago i noticed her relationship status was single, and i thought, maybe it could be worth a 2nd shot? So i got in touch, and we immediatly went back to our old ways, only this time there was no boyfriend to complicate things. We've met up a few times, and we've done fairly naughty things (no sex) and i really like her. The trouble is, it's only been a few months since she split up with her ex, and she keeps saying she's not ready for a relationship. We have both admitted we have strong feelings for eachother, and for me that's great, but she keeps saying, "yes, i really like you, which is good and bad" She seems a little pushy to get me into the bed, and i'm struggling to resist her to be honest, but i'm not into casual sex - i'd only do that with a girl i'm actually going out with.

I'm fairly confident that in time, we might get together, my mates keep saying "she's obvioussly mad for you, just wait it out". But i feel that i can't wait. when she's not there, i'm constantly think she's going around other boy's houses for naughty stuff, i'm constantly thinking i'm just one of a few boys she 'likes' - but won't date. Am i being insecure? Should i just wait it out? should i just ask her if she's done anything with other boys since she started talking to me? Aaaargh, i can't relax, i feel like i constantly need her reassurance, but i also think i'm driving her up the wall with my constant worrying :(

(ps: i recently quit smoking weed about 1 week, and a half ago - smoked heavily about 7 years - could this have anything to do with how i'm feeling? I'm losing sleep over this)

Why are people so aggressive and impatient these days? People say they get angry when somebody talks to them when there on the phone. People fume if they get stuck behind a slow walking person. People moan if some kid jumps the queue. I know life is full of annoying moments but people make such a deal out of it. What happened to keeping your mouth shut and carrying on? Why do people expect the whole world to be streamlined to their own style and preference? why can't people accept differences of opinion?

Right, now i know that as soon as i come home today there will be a stranger in a dark suit telling me my family has left me, and won't be coming back simply for asking this,but - what do people see in Scientology? Everything i read about it just shocks me even more than teh last thing i read, the sheer amount of people who have mysterioussly 'died' or 'commited suicide' simply for suggesting that maybe they're not comfortable within the faith is alarming. Why do people even get into this sort of thing in the first place, i feel like going to the so called 'church' and actually physically attacking the higher up members who spread the rubbish dressed up as a 'religion'. How they can live with themselves is beyond me. They are money sucking organization that take no feelings when a member 'dies' or goes bankrupt (which they often do). Tom Cruise must be making a fortune from it. It just makes me so angry reading about it.

Can anybody think why a person would bother with all that? Because there are plenty of nutcase members in that church. Scientology makes islam look tame. If anyone starts shouting 'LIES!' at me, than i'll know that's one more gullible person who's been brainwashed by this business, er...i mean 'church'.

Just a quickie... on TV and in films, we often see doctors/nurses using a pair of metal blocks, to jolt someone back to life. they go, "1, 2 3!" and press both blocks onto a persons chest, they jolt up, and either wake up, or remain laying still looking dead. What are those metal things called? Hope this made sense to someone out there.

Here's my problem, a very slight problem, but the teacher who wants it fixing is making out like the plague has just broke out in her classroom.. anyway.

Basically, when someone goes to open an excel document (by double clicking the file) nothing happens, however if they open excel, and then go to file - open, and select the docuemnt that way, it opens fine. This is probably nothing, hopefully, and why kids can't just open excel first is beyond me, but anyone got any helpful ideas?
