In my Spanish class, we're studying the preterite tense and we're learning "ser" and "estar" (fui, fuiste, fue, etc. and estuve, estuviste, etc.). I understand how to determine which to use in the present tense (estar is temporary and ser is permanent), but how do you decide which to use in the past tense? Technically shouldn't everything be "estar" because it is no longer occuring.

How would you conjugate "sacar" for first person in the past tense? I thought it would be "yo sace", but my teacher said that it was incorrect and I didn't understand the correction he made. How would you say "I got" using "sacar"? Thanks!

My mom has advanced Fuchs's Corneal Dystrophy and her doctor has determined that she has cataracts as well. She is only 43 years old, so this is not related to ageing. She is unable to find any information about her type of cataracts- her doctor told her that she has "bubbles" in her lens (where the cataract is forming). Does anyone have information/experience with this? Thanks in advance.

I'm passionate about medicine- i want to be a doctor. I usually live by the philosophy that there's nothing wrong with being a follower, but I'm learning how to speak up if I need to.

I had a really low blood sugar - 41 - yesterday, and my main symptom was feeling "out of it", "spaced out", disoriented, etc. Not my usual shakiness - I just barely felt that. Anyway, the blood sugar and the feeling went away after I treated (by the way, I didn't lose consiousness or need glucagon).

Later that evening I had another disoriented feeling, but i wasn't able to check my blood sugar because I was out and i forgot my kit. anyway, I ate 2-3 tablets and checked my blood sugar about 20 minutes later - it was 214.

Today I had almost an exact replay: blood sugar 64 in the morning, complete with disoriented feeling. In the evening I felt funny again, but my blood sugar was 208. WHAT'S GOING ON?

*if this makes any difference, I've been waking up about 45 minutes earlier these past few weeks, but I've never felt like this. Also, Saturday night (the night before the first low) I was at a party that went really late... does that matter?
