  • If I uninstall then re-install Steam, will all of my games stay how they are?

This might be a stupid question, but I really don't care. It's not working at all lately and I'm thinking that might be the only thing to do.

  • Can someone explain how Obamacare is unconstitutional?

Someone told me it was, and after thinking about it, frankly, I know almost nothing about Obamacare to begin with. Can someone please explain and cite specific articles/amendments?

  • Does Due Process apply to US Citizens if they commit treason?

I know in the Constitution it says that Americans have the right to a speedy trial by an impartial jury. But does that apply to someone who commits treason or something like that? For example, the Americans killed in Yemen a while ago. Everybody seems pretty sure they were with al-Qaeda or something (I'll admit, I don't know as much about it as I feel I should). Under the Constitution, shouldn't those men have had a trial with an impartial jury? Even if they did actually did anything, aren't they still protected by Due Process laws?

  • How would you abbreviate "Established" in Dutch?

For example, in English a sign might say "Est. 1943" or whatever the date is. The word in Dutch is gevestigd. I want to know because I'm making a project in my art class having to do with a Dutch organization.

  • How can I stop my Dell laptop from "crashing?"?

Of course, my first preference would be not to have a Dell in the first place, but it's a school laptop.

My laptop keeps crashing or something after I leave it closed for more than a few minutes. I open it up and it's shut itself down. I turn it on and a black screen with white letters says something about an error (I don't remember exactly) and gives me the choice to start Windows normally or choose safety mode or something. This is really annoying to me, especially because sometimes Google Chrome stops working after it happens. It just makes everything slower in general for the next few minutes and by the time it's back to speed, I'm finished doing what I need to and I close it so the whole cycle starts over. It also wastes time in class when we use our laptops. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

I'm not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to computers, please try to make it simple :)

  • Do most people in Europe speak at least some English?

I was thinking I might go to Europe this summer, mostly France, Germany, and Holland with maybe a quick visit to Italy. I am totally fluent in English having grown up in the USA and I know a small amount of Spanish, maybe enough to ask where things are and other simple stuff like that but I'm nowhere near fluent.

  • Register to vote in Canada?

I'm a duel citizen, Canadian American. I was born and raised in the USA but I plan to live in Canada after college. I am almost 18 and I want to register to vote in the next Canadian election. What do I have to do to do that? Does the fact that I've never actually lived in Canada make a difference since I'm still a Canadian citizen?

  • Is Mormonism technically a Christian sect?

From what I've gathered, they believe in God and that Jesus was God's son and died for humanity's sins. Sure, they believe in a couple of other things like Jews coming to America thousands of years ago but it's still some of the same core beliefs. I ask this because the Mormon website says they are Christians but people in my conservative Christian town are all raging about how they aren't. I usually don't pay much attention to what they say since I'm not religious but I'd like to get the stories straight.

Note: Like I said, I'm not religious, I'm a Deist. If you want to be religious or an atheist or whatever, cool good for you, but I really don't care that much so don't try to promote your beliefs through your answers.

  • Help with the Caste System?

I have to make a presentation in school about the role of women in the Hindu caste system. I've got the Brahmins and Kshatriyas figured out, but I can't find any information about the Vaishyas, Sudras, or "Untouchables." Can anyone give me a link or something, I don't need very much info, just enough to make a decent slideshow.

  • What language group does this name sound like it comes from?

I have some friends with the last name Wolgen, with the "g" as in goat not generation. They are all Dutch, but the name doesn't sound similar to any other Dutch names I've heard and I'm trying to figure out the meaning. Their families trace back for sure to Groningen. It sounds a little like wolken, which is German for clouds, but that doesn't really make sense to me as a last name. It almost sounds a little bit Scandinavian to me. Scandinavian would make some sense, Groningen is the northernmost part of the Netherlands. Does anybody else have any idea?

  • Why do we celebrate St. Patrick's day?

Just about every country has a patron saint, so why are St. Patrick's day and Ireland given so much focus?

  • Question about religions?

I've been reading about different religions and I've noticed a bit of a pattern through history. In Eastern Asia, Australia, sub-Saharan Africa and the Americas, many belief systems that formed were based on animism and spirits along with Buddhism and Taoism which emphasize inner peace and being one with the universe. Meanwhile, in Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa most early people worshiped a god or many gods that controlled nature rather than lived in nature (hence Ra, Baal, Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, etc. along with the development of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Zoroastrianism in Western/Central Asia) There are exceptions obviously, like Hinduism and Aztec gods among others, and I'm sure some groups from Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa had Animistic religions, but the worship of controlling a controlling god or gods seems pretty mainstream throughout Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. Is there a known reason for this?

  • Do a lot of Dutch people have big teeth?

Yeah, I know this is kind of a weird question.

The other day, my parents were watching the Olympics and my mom said to my dad that some of the Dutch athletes had big teeth like his uncles. I never really noticed before, maybe because I live in a mostly Dutch community, but a lot of the Dutch people in my town and in my family do have pretty wide front teeth and overbites, including me. Is this common of many Dutch people?

  • Do you have to be born in a specific country to be a politician in it?

This is hypothetical since I never want to get into politics.

I was born in the USA, but my dad is from Canada so I have duel citizenship. If I wanted to, could I move to Canada and run for an important office since I am a legal citizen?

  • When are the Divisions going to be re-done?

Obviously, Winnipeg can't stay in the Southeast division forever. I've heard some talk about expansion/relocation (then again, when don't we hear about that), so I'm wondering if the NHL is just waiting for everything to be finalized before realigning the divisions.

  • Can native North Americans grow facial hair?

I know this seems like a strange question, but I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one with facial hair unless they were from around Mexico, where some Spanish genes are mixed in. Could the genetically pure native North Americans not grow facial hair or did they just always shave?

  • Were the citizens and regular soldiers in Nazi Germany aware of the Holocaust?

I know that attitudes towards the Jews were not very positive at the time because of propaganda and I saw a propaganda video that showed the Jews living in what looked like a nice private village where they wouldn't be with the other people. So I'm guessing most citizens thought they were just going to separate places, not being killed.

What about the soldiers? Not the S.S. or Gestapo, just the average soldiers, pilots, tank drivers, etc. Were they told what was going on?
