  • What was your favorite wedding attendant gift?

I'm having a really rough time trying to think of a cute, creative, decently affordable gift for my three bridesmaids. I want to get them something meaningful -- I feel like things like an engraved jewelry box are just way over-done. That said, what did you give your bridesmaids, or when you were a bridesmaid, what was something the bride gave you that you really cherished?

  • What to do about being stalked/harassed?

There's a guy that a bunch of my family and friends know who started out to be just a normal friendly guy. Eventually, he got to be really annoying, to the point of harassing. Initially, he started with just harassing my fiance to no end, but eventually got around to all of us (there's at least five of us who he's harassed with dozens of phone calls, texts, messages, etc, in short amounts of time).

It got really weird when he figured out a friend's legal birth name (the one on his passport) which he never uses or mentions. That was a few months ago.

What really hit me is that he found out my wedding date! It's announced on my wedding website (which only my fiance and I know about and I only just updated earlier today) and on the Save the Dates we ordered but haven't gotten in the mail yet. I tried googling my fiance's and my names, but I only got to a website of our registries, which has our initial wedding date on it (not the one he knows about). Even if you search our names on theknot.com (where our wedding site is), you can't find it!

Anyway, long story short, this guy is a grade A creeper, harasser, and, I'm starting to believe, stalker.

He lives in NY and my friends/family and I live in NJ. What can I do with the law to report this guy? Where do we report him?? We just want him out of our lives once and for all, and as much as we just ignore him, nothing works. We feel it's completely necessary to bring it to the courts.

  • Why is my Wii all of a sudden not connecting to the internet?

Two days ago, I was happily watching Netflix on my Wii with no issue concerning internet. Last night, however, when I went to Netflix, it all of a sudden has internet problems. I went to "enter settings" for the internet, and I cleared the settings for my home router. It then search for an access point and found it, and I typed in the password and everything was fine, until I hit OK. It keeps giving me a pop-up message, "Error Code: 52031. Unable to connect to the Internet."

Could anyone maybe shed some light as to WHY? I am currently on my laptop using my wi-fi, and it's working perfectly fine, so I know it's not an issue with my internet.

    Thanks!

  • How can I make my venue a little... nicer?

I would like to have my wedding in my church yard, mostly because of the low price (read, free! =D). However, on one side, there is a, well, ugly yellow wall from a garage type of building, and on the other side is a metal fence that overlooks the neighbors yard, and their ANNOYING dogs that NEVER stop barking. Actually, the more I think about this, the more I think it's worth it to rent a place somewhere around where I don't have to do much work...

So, do you have any ideas as to how I can mask this hideousness? Or any [affordable] place where I can rent some outdoor space for a wedding ceremony and reception? I live in central/north Jersey, but I'll be willing to have it a little bit further out, say, somewhere closer to PA or even in PA or upstate NY.

And I've also been curious about Liberty Hall Musuem in Union and Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Whippany -- so if anyone has any information on those, that would also be lovely.

Thanks so much! I know I jumped around a lot here. =)

  • Physics question - finding resistivity?

This is the question: A coil is formed by winding 250 turns of insulated 16-gauge copper wire (diameter = 1.3 mm) in a single layer on a cylindrical form of radius 12 cm. What is the resistance of the coil? Neglect the thickness of the insulation. (The resistivity of copper is 1.69E-8 ohms·m.)

The answer is 2.4 ohms, but I have no idea how to get that!

    I know I should use R = p(L/A) and I have:

    p = 1.69e-8

    A = ((0.12m)^2)pi

    L = 250 * (2(0.12m))pi

But it's not giving me what I want =/

    Thanks!

  • Friends Episode - "The Thing" ?

I have a Friends episode stuck in my head and all I know is is everyone is at Central Perk and they're trying to tell Ross what "the thing" is, and it's a lot of "Well, here's the thing..." "See, the thing is....." "This is the thing...." And then Ross blows up and says "What is the thing?!!"

I realize this is vague, but if anyone knows what episode this is, that would help. =) I tried googling it, but "friends" and "the thing" are all pretty generic words... =P

  • Wedding Dress Designer?

I accidentally found this picture of this dress and I might be in love with it! Problem is, I don't know who makes it and the website gives zero information on that. =(

    http://www.wedding-kiss.co.uk/2011/07/03/elegant-w...

(just in case it doesn't show up as the big picture, it's in the bottom row, third from the left)

    Thanks! =D

  • Help finding a light bulb! ...?

I have this nifty "mini-warning light" which is basically a rotating siren light (no noise). I really want to use it. Trouble is, though, the lightbulb is gone and I'm not even sure what the lightbulb looks like. Anybody have any advice as to where I could find one and what it looks like? Direct links would be nice. =) Thanks!!

  • Arizona Iced Tea Guy's Name?

This is a little weird, but anyone know who the founder of Arizona Iced Tea is?

I mean, he lives around the corner and down the street from me, and I once babysat for a family who lives on his property, and the mom referred to him as "The Arizona Iced Tea Guy" -- what my brother and I had called him for years. I'm almost beginning to think that's his real name! But I would like to know if he has a different one. =P

  • Stockton Inn, NJ - Ever been there?

Has anyone had a banquet and/or wedding there? Do you have any idea how much it costs? Theknot.com claimed it to be "$", which means that it's quite cheap. However, the place is absolutely gorgeous, and I have a hard time believing it would be that inexpensive, and there's no information on the website...

    Thank you! =)

  • Has anyone every been to the Smithsonian museums?

I'm planning a roadtrip for the day on Friday to DC to check out the Smithsonian. I'm super excited and I know I shouldn't plan on visiting every single museum in the short time I'll be there. But I was wondering if anyone had any information such as...

Parking - is it free? Is there a cost? Is there a lot of walking involved from where you park to where the museums are? Does it get crowded fast?

Traffic - I's planning on arriving in DC at around 10:30; is traffic bad?

Museums - Which would you recommend visiting the most?

Food - What is the approximate cost of food in the cafes there? Am I allowed to bring in my own food? Should I just pack food and leave it in the car?

Also, any other information would be helpful. Thank you!! =D

  • Change! It can be QUITE refreshing, no?

I'm a pretty conservative person. But I don't need to keep everything traditional. Can someone please tell me why it irks you all when I mention ideas such as these??

    1. I want to have an outdoor afternoon reception with foods like sandwiches, wraps, salads, chips, desserts, and soda.

    2. I don't want to send a response card in my invitation -- simply RSVP information on the back.

    3. I'm thinking of having a tiny ceremony or even eloping and then having a celebration, ahem, reception, so that I can celebrate my new marriage with my closest friends and family.

    4. Assuming #3 happens, I want to have my first dance with my groom on the day I exchange vows AND on the day I have my celebration.

    5. Still tying in with #3, I want to have a wedding dress (maybe even veil too) on both days.

    6. I want no bridal party, DJ, live band, etc.

    7. I think I'll have disposable tableware at my reception.

    8. My reception guestlist is at about 120; I cannot trim it down and I want to work with a $3500 budget.

  • Low Wedding Budget, Big Guest List -- Help?

I have about $5000 to spend towards a wedding, but would like to spend as little as possible. I could very well spend a low amount if my guest list wasn't that big -- it's a little over 100 guests. The thing that stinks is that it is ALL extended family of mine and the groom's (my extended family is actually the huge chunk of it, but we're all very close) and some mutual friends. When I think about it, I think of some people who I probably would not invite who are more or less family friends of mine and who all go to my church (the groom and I were both raised in the same church, which is a small one, over all). BUT, it is those same people who are the extended family of my husband-to-be, and therefore my future extended in-laws.

The only wedding party we have is flower girls (my niece, his little sister, and a few other of my cousins' daughters, all that age) and a ring boy (his little brother). He and I both love kids and being that we're 20 and 21, we're pretty young. So we like the idea of young life being at the wedding.

Just about all of our mutual friends are from our church youth group, where he and I are basically leaders.

We can't just NOT invite anyone, because everyone on our guest list is meaningful to at least one of us and have backed us and our relationship up since before it began.

And then there's the food. I just want to have a get together with the people I love most to celebrate my marriage to the one I love most, and there can be sandwich and chips for all I care! (Weddings to me have never been about the food.) But my mom, who is in a tight financial situation, is like "No, you need to have good food." And I found some pretty good caterers with great prices, but everything adds up, especially with 100+ people.

We're not having a DJ or paying tons on a wedding cake (my aunt makes *amazing* ones) and I don't want to spend more than a few hundred for a dress. I do, however, care about having a photographer, because the pictures are one of the most important things to me. I found an amazing one at an amazing price (a whopping $1000, 20% of my budget!) but then that leaves me with $4000 for everything else on my list.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch =)
