  • Child custody question...Spring Break visitation?

My ex and I have joint managing conservatorship with me being the primary parent. We just agreed on this last November, so it is all a little new. My question is, in the court papers it states he will have visitation during spring breaks on even years, but she is not in public schools yet (she's 3 1/2) and therefore does not have a spring break. And it is not specified whether this begins now, or when she is in school. Do we go off the school districts spring break anyway or wait until she is in school? We live in Texas...not sure if that makes a difference. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Single mom needs help, not sure which way to go, any advice?

I am 26 and have a wonderful 3 yr old daughter. Her father has been what I would call "half" there for her. He gave me child support and would see her once or twice a week for a few hours. He then got a girlfriend and since then he has wanted her more often and for longer periods of time. I have been trying to cope with that the best I can, but they are immature and have a do what I say or I wont pay you kind of attitude. I have been trying to get things in court so that he can't just not pay me and we have some sort of schedule worked out, but money is tight, and legal aid has a waiting list a mile long and even then they might not see your case as a needy one. Does anyone know of any help in the Dallas, Tx area for things like this? I have terrible credit so not sure if a loan is an option. My family has no money either. I have a lawyer that is willing to take me case for half of what they normally charge, but first I need to come up with $750 before he will start working on it. The situation has escalated, her dad wouldn't return her to me when I asked him to today, he told me I would get her back when he said so or not at all. 4 hours later she was back with me, after I called the police out to negotiate her return. I need to get something in courts so he can't just take off with her and I wouldn't be able to do anything. Any constructive advice is greatly appreciated.

  • What gets make up (liquid foundation) out of kids hair?

So while I was taking a shower yesterday, my 3 yr old decided to "wash" her hair in the sink. When she was telling me that was what she was doing, I thought she was pretending. I peak out of the curtain to check on her only to find she has dumped liquid foundation on her head and has been rubbing it all over. I have washed it twice and it is still disgusting. What can I do to get it out?!?! We have pictures at the Arboretum tomorrow so it needs to be a quick fix! Thanks!

  • Need help finding preschool uniforms!!!!!?

My daughter just started at Creme de la Creme preschool, and I love it except for the fact that the required uniforms are outrageously priced!!! Anyways I need a way to find if people are selling their used ones when they no longer need them. I have been checking ebay and craigslist, but are there any other website like those where people post things for sale. Or if you have any that you would like to sell me that would be great!!!

  • Need advice on buying a Digital Camera?

I have been looking at digital cameras and just seem to be getting overwhelmed with all my options. It doesn't have to be super fancy, but I would like it to take good quality pictures. I don't need a ton of features, just normal ones....and I don't need a ton of accessories. I would mainly be using it to photograph my toddler's every move :)! Her father has a Canon Power Shot (or something like that) that is very good, but unfortunately my price range is around $200 more or less. Any advice on which camera has worked for you or and suggestions on how not to get screwed when I go and buy it would greatly be appreciated! Thank you.

  • Does anyone know of a baby hair product called Nessle's (or Nestles)?

I have a 14 month old that not only has very fine, but very blonde hair that is probably about an inch to an inch 1/2 long. She looks bald, and I am getting tired of everyone confusing her for a boy when she is not decked out in pink everyday! My mom keeps telling me that she use to use something called Nessles (sp) on my hair that helped style it and also gave it a little bit of curl....but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know of it or any other product like that? Thanks.

  • What are some easy ways to keep the mind sharp as we get older?

I feel like I have forgotten everything that I ever learned. I am 24, out of school and have a toddler. Ever since I had her, I have felt like I have to search for the answers to what most people would call easy questions. Does anyone know of any good mind exercises or games that I can do to feel "smart" again? Thanks.

I am terrible with time management and getting motivated to do anything. Many people have hinted that I am ADD and that may be why I can never seem to complete task in a timely manner, if at all. But I am not really into taking meds for problems that aren't life threatening so if anyone has any good tips on how to possible overcome this, please feel free to share :). Thanks

  • My daughter has a cut on her finger that looks infected...?

My 1 yr old scraped her finger the other day on a shelf. I washed it and put peroxide on it. It has been a few days, now it is red and swollen around the scabbed area. I assume it is infected, but I am unsure of what to do now. Do I keep cleaning it, or should I take her to the doctor? I have heard of instances where a little infection turns into something 10 times worse. So just wondering if anyone had any opinions on what to do. Thanks.

  • My 1 year old daughter has started twitching, anyone know why?

My daughter just turned one this past weekend. For her birthday she recieved a Baby Einstein DVD from one of our friends. Since then, I have been letting her watch it for about half an hour while I make dinner. Yesterday I started to notice that she would involuntarily twitch her head to the side and kinda have what looks like shivers in her upper body about every minute or so while the show was on. I have not noticed this any other time, but she usually isn't that still any other times either. I of course am not going to allow her to watch the show, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen, or if I should worry at all. Thanks for all your input!
