Whether to go to concert alone?
I'm 16 and want to go see one of my favourite bands, the Jesus and Mary chain, in Camden. But none of my friends like them and would want to go. I'm a girl and I wanna go standing, will probably be pretty rough, but will I be okay going alone? And should I tell my parents this and risk them saying no, or just lie and say I'm going with a friend?
4 AnswersRock and Pop6 years agoI love sports, but hate competing?
I do rowing, run frequently and cycle lots, used to swim. I love all of these, but only recreationally, and now I'm being pushed to either compete or quit. Running is a particular favourite, but now I'm being pushed by my gym teacher to join the team and train loads and do plenty of meets. Sam with rowing, if I compete I'll complete a team, which wouldn't be able to race without me, so I'd feel bad not doing it. I'd love to join the team, as it means more running, but I'm not competitive at all, get terrified in races and don't like pushing myself so hard. Should I just suck it up and do races, or just give up sports? Is there some kind of balance I can get?
1 AnswerOther - Sports7 years agoWhat's G rating on Netflix?
I would've thought it was all audiences, but Inbetweeners is a G, and that contains a whole load of swearing, sex and drugs. Is it like a 15, or between that and 12, or something else?
3 AnswersOther - Television7 years agoShould I let my daughter read Game of Thrones?
I don't know much about it, but people say it's quite inappropriate. She's 15, but she's a big reader and has been reading adult books for at least a year, and is pretty mature for her age. I just worry that she might be too young, what would you say?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors7 years agoWill my stretch marks fade?
I'm 15, had red marks on thighs for at least 5 years, since I can remember, finally found out they're stretch marks and by now they're fading to silvery pink. They're generally upper thighs and buttocks. I grew quite quickly at about 13 but have never been obese or had any serious body changes. Will these go away over time, if they're only from growing?
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body7 years agoBoyfriend thinks I'm too heavy?
He wants to lift me up at concerts and throw me places but I'm just a heavy person. I'm skinny, but I do rowing 4 times a week and so I'm like 145 pounds/67 kg, plus I'm like 5"8 even if he's taller than me. But he just gets angry that he can't lift me up and complains that I'm really heavy, though he knows it's not fat, and it's making me feel bad. I know I'm not fat, but should I lose weight for him or just tell him to bulk up if he cares so much?
7 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoI don't get sad much, but when I do it's really bad?
I'm usually a really happy person, but every month (random, it's not hormones) or so something small will set me off and for about a day I'll just get really sad, worried, angry and have low self esteem, just feeling awful about life. Usually I'll self harm and cry. But then the rest of the time I'm the happiest person out of my friends. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to not not feel so bad when it happens?
2 AnswersMental Health7 years agoBest metal for ear piercing?
I'm getting second piercings in my lobes done soon, and I have sensitive ears. Will stainless steel be okay for that, or should I go for something better (price is a bit of an issue)
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body7 years agoWill people actually buy alcohol for me?
I'm 16 and have heard that "hey mister"s outside off licenses work, but is that actually true?
And if so, who should I ask? There are no bums/tramps near me, but there is a uni. Would students be my best bet?
No lectures please, this isn't a regular thing for me and I don't want much.
5 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits7 years agoBreasts suddenly growing again?
I've been a B for the past 3 years (15 now), and figured it would stay there. But I appear to have gone up to a C in just 2 weeks, possibly further if they keep going. I'm not on or near my period, definitely not pregnant and haven't grown at all in 2 years (height-wise). Is this normal?
2 AnswersWomen's Health7 years agoWhat dress to get for prom?
I'm just finding it difficult to get a dress that actually suits me, and I haven't got ages left. It's just that I've got pretty big shoulders and do rowing, so fairly muscly arms and legs, which means that lots of dresses just look really weird on me. I'm also pale, so half of them make me look ill. I'm tall, which is apparently good, but small boobs mean that some dresses are too baggy in that area.
So what kind of and colour of dress would suit me? Thanks so much, I'm running out of ideas!
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories7 years agoShould I go out with this guy?
I'm 16 and today my (kind of) friend asked me out, I told him I'd think about it and I don't know what to do because I know that it's never going to work out because we're teenagers, and we'll just break up and probably cause me some heartbreak, which isn't exactly something I want. But I really like him and he's really fun to hang out with. So should I accept, just for the experience of it all, or just save myself all that effort and stick with being friends?
5 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoWhy do I get panicky over really small things?
Like most weeks, I just get so panicked over the tiniest things. Just a single comment that isn't even cruel, or reading some news or something somebody posted on twitter. I just get so stressed and upset, I cry a few of the times and sometimes cut if I get really sad, and just shut myself in my room. It's not a certain time per month or anything, so I know it's not hormones, and it's not when I'm tired, it's just random, and I'm wondering if this is normal? I'm just too embarrassed to ask my friends in case it's not.
1 AnswerMental Health7 years agoFriend kept touching my leg, does he like me?
Sorry, sounds trivial. I've been friends with him for like a year and a half, he mainly hangs out with girls and I've had suspicions that he was gay . But today, when me and a few others were sitting in the park and talking, he kept touching my leg when talking to me, and no-one else's. We're not really an overly physical group, and none of my female friends have done that, so it just made me wonder if he liked me? Or is this just what guys do when they're pretty good friends with a girl?
4 AnswersFriends7 years agoI'm lying to someone suicidal, but it's stopping them killing themselves?
I'm speaking to someone, I haven't met them before but they posted about wanting to kill themselves tonight so I immediately messaged them. I said that I'd had feelings like theirs before and gotten through it, and they're asking me about what I did and how I coped. I haven't had these feelings, though I've self harmed, but it seems like me telling them about all this is the only thing stopping them killing themself now. Should I stick with the lie?
4 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships7 years agoChanging my last name?
Currently I have my Dad's surname, but I want to change it to my Mum's. Generally because I feel more like part of that side of the family, though his side is lovely to me, and prefer that name. But I don't want to offend my dad by doing this, as I'd feel awful. Should I go for it, or just stick with my current one?
4 AnswersFamily7 years agoMaterial to customise top?
I bought a really nice black casual top, but didn't realise how low cut the sides were, so they show too much bra. I want to put some fabric there to cover that up, maybe lace or something, anybody know what would be nice?

1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoHow to decorate my DMs?
I've for some purple shiny/glittery Dr Martens, and want to personalise them a bit. So far I've seen newspaper printed ones, but anyone got any cool ideas?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoWhere to go for 6th form?
Basically, I have 2 options to go for sixth form, both equal in educational merits and the subjects I want to study, and I have no idea which to go to.
It's mainly because of friends. At the moment I have a pretty great, small and close group of friends, who are all going to sixth form 1. I love them, and they're amazing, but sometimes I think they're not exactly the friends I want to stick with. It's just that I'm quite different to them in quite a few ways, like they're hardly sporty and so I can never go rock climbing or do stuff like that with them that I enjoy, and our music tastes are very different so I have nobody to go to concerts with. But they are really lovely and everything, and I don't want to sound stuck up.
Option 2 is a place where none of my close Friendster going, and there's about 1000 people per year. People say that if you weren't so popular in school a fresh start always helps, and I'm just wondering if a fresh start is what I need. The issue is that I'm very shy and so I'm worried about making no friends at all, having chucked away the ones I already had, and just being lonely and miserable. Outside school I've not been amazing at making friends, so that's the main reason I'm worried.
I don't know whether to stick with my current friends and go with option 1, or be brave and go with option 2. I've just always had this fear of being alone, so it scares me a lot. Anyone know what u should do? (Thanks for dragging yourself through the long read!)
