If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet. I am truly sick of hearing, "we cant' afford to take it to the vet......." Then you shouldn't have it in the first place. I work as a Parrot Behaviorist/Consultant. I have many years experience with most species of parrots. I have a flock of 9 rescued and/or adopted birds of my own. They include 6 Cockatiels, one Senegal, one African Grey and one Catalina Macaw. Working on boards like this for free is one of the ways I volunteer for the birds and other animals.
Have kids lost the ability to spell and communicate properly?
Actually this is a rhetorical question. I'm just interested in what others think and how many have noticed the situation. I'm old enough to realize there are both good and bad that come from all this technology. The current fad of texting has to be the worse yet. Using short cuts are okay, in their place and when it doesn't really matter whether the other person understands or not. But in looking at many of the questions and answers posted here and in many other areas of life, I am sick to death of it. If these kids can't spell, how are they ever going to get a job? They apparently will not be able to compose a sensible resume, will not be able to fill out a job application and certainly will not be able to function in any job that requires even the least amount degree of literacy. Is there some sound reason they can't type a literate and understandable question or answer? Hey punks, it's not cute. You are not texting when writing on a message board. Show us you really can spell a word that has more than 2 or 3 letters in it. I'm not convinced there are many of you who can do that.
