I am knew to knitting, and am trying to complete a sock making kit my friend gave me for my birthday. At the moment I have figured out casting on, and have done it reasonably well. However, I have to cast on 64 stitches, with 16 on each needle (the needles make a sort of square shape). I need to know how to continue the casting on from one needle to another. I have tried to find this out on the internet, but have had no joy.

I apologise if this makes little sense, but thanks for any help.

Of course I mean Affleck's Palace in Manchester, some details about it from people who know it well would be great.

My skin is spot-free and reasonable at a distance, but up close there's a hell of a lot of blackheads. Has anybody tried something that works for minimising this?

About a year ago BBC4 had an Oscar Peterson night where they showed many of his concerts. They also had a show which was hosted by Oscar Peterson, on this one I think he had Count Basie and they did a piano duet. Does anybody know the name of this programme and where I would be able to watch some of them, or buy them?

I have started to play the trombone, and I have been given a trombone from my school's music service. It has quite a good sound, but it is incredibly dirty. How can I clean the insides effectively without ruining it?

I would like Dr Martin style boots. I would prefer shops that have a website and can deliver. If you know a place in the North East that would be very helpful.

Basically my sewing machine will not sew properly. It's an elna 3210. I have threaded it properly, according to the manuel. I have figured out that the top thread goes down into the bottom bit and keeps getting caught and brought round to the front. This happens repeatedly and results in the material being knackered and a lot of thread caught in the bottom. I have tried to explain as thoroughly as possible.

I have been a vegetarian for a few years now and really enjoy the diet that I eat. I feel now that I want to try a vegan diet for a while. What I do want to know is what foods you eat to replace the nutrients lost from eggs and milk. And could you give me some sort of guide as to what you eat during the day, just to help me decide on some meal ideas.

I have been getting to know this guy, he is lovely and treats me so well. Says he cares about me and loves me...then he completely froze up. Trying to explain how his religion means we can't have a relationship. I don't really know what to think, but I was wondering what other people thought.

I have recently bought a Buffet R13 Clarinet, and now I have two joints stuck. I know this is because of the tenons and is common for new clarinets. I will be taking it to be seen and repaired by a professional (I am not risking breaking it!). I will not be able to do this for a few days and the barrel, upper, lower and bell are stuck (in two pairs, not altogether). This means that they will not fit in the case. I don't want to damage my instrument, so where should I keep them? Will a level tempurature room be alright for a while?
