  • Are there toxic decorative plum trees?

We have a couple trees in our yard that I am pretty sure are decorative plum trees. The flowers look just like plum flowers in the spring and they produce small dark purple fruit about the size of a cherry. My kids ate a couple of them today and said they tasted really good, but I have never found out for sure what the trees are. Are there any trees with toxic fruit that look just like decorative plums?

  • How high is the risk that my kids will get chicken pox from non direct exposure?

My daughter's best friend wants to come over and play. Her little sister (the best friends) has chicken pox. My daughter's best friend has had the vaccinations and is unlikely to develop the disease, but my daughter and younger son have not. I would rather not deal with chicken pox right now, but I feel bad not letting my daughters friend play when she is not sick. Is the best friend still a carrier and how likely is it that my daughter's friend could pass chicken pox to my daughter?

  • How would you define a Conservative Capitalist?

I am looking for general ideas and opinions someone that is a conservative capitalist would have, not names of people you think to be conservative capitalists.

  • What is this Science Fiction book? No adults, Escaped Children living in underwater base, travel in tunnels?

Some of what I can remember:

Children in Group home - Disappear at Puberty

Some kids cut out their tracker and run away

    One hides in unworking trains.

There are no working cars, trains, etc. All are abandoned on highways and wherever they were when the adults left.

Escaped child finds a group of others like him

They escape into tunnels and live in an underwater base

The children are sent on missions to get food and supplies

At one point some kids get captured and others set out on rescue mission against leaders orders.

They get to city where captured children are and try to rescue them before their minds are taken over.

The children learn that the enemies take over the kids minds by sprinkling a snow like substance on them.

They rescue the kids and come back to find that their hide out has been invaded and they are the only ones left. The group was betrayed by their leader.

Now they hide out on their own and hide from spider like machine creatures

They set out to try and get to source the enemies source of power and destroy it.

I know this sounds little like the Tripods series, but it is not. Anyone know what it could be?

  • What should I do with my aggressive cat?

I have a 3 year old spayed female kitty that we have had since she was a kitten. She is in general gentile with my children, my husband, and me. The last year or so she has started hissing and swatting, when friends or neighbors come over. I have started putting her in the garage when people come over for this reason, but the problem seems to be getting worse. We have a neighbor that comes every couple days to take care of her when we are out of town, but when we left in August the cat scratched her drawing blood. I felt horrible so I started working on adjusting her to a new neighbor. She got to a point where she was fine with the new neighbor while I was around, but last week we were gone and the new neighbor came to take care of her and again she hissed and scratched.

We love our kitty, but I hate that she is acting this way. I am afraid to ask anyone to take care of her next time we leave, but I don't know what else to do. She won't let us clip her nails so they are sharp and she loves going outside occasionally so I don't want to have her declawed (also I am afraid she would then start bitting). I just don't know what to do! Any suggestions?

  • What is this book? No adults, underground tunnels, underwater base, spider like robots?

I am trying to remember what this book I read is called. I only remember parts of it. It takes place sometime in the future. Children are raised in a large orphanage type place and then are taken around the time they reach puberty. One child removes her tracker and escapes. He/she hides in abandoned trains. They find her but she escapes again with the help of other escaped children. She finds a group of them living in a hide out that you have to swim to the entrance.

Groups of them are sent out on missions using underground tunnels (that sometimes fill with water) to get around.

I have spent several days trying to remember what it is called. Any ideas?

  • Why am I not seeing any results?

I am a 30 year old female 5'7" and I weigh 160lbs. I weighed 130 pre-kids. My youngest child is now 15 months and I have been on a diet for 6 weeks now. I am eating around 1300-1600 calories a day and have added about 40min exercise about 3 days a week (in addition to carrying kids up and down stairs, chasing them around outside etc). I weigh myself on our Wii fit daily and have not seen any overall difference. What am I doing wrong?

  • Did you have your membranes stripped? (Only answer if you had it done please)?

I’m just curious about what happened to you after. I know everyone is different. I had it done once a couple days ago, but am still waiting. I may post this again in a couple days to get more peoples experiences – please only answer it once.

*How many weeks were you the first time you had it done?

*How many times did you have it done?

*How many days later did you go into labor (after the last time you had it done)?

*Did it hurt or was it just uncomfortable?

*How far dilated were you when you had it done?

*Did you Spot? Did the spotting start right away or take a while? How long did you spot?

*Did it cause any complications for you?

*Would you recommend other full term pregnant women get it done?

    Thanks!

  • My 4 1/2 year old gets destructive when I send him to time out.

I am very consistent when I send him to time out, but recently (the last several months) he has started trying to break things on his way there. He pushes over furniture, rips my books, or tries to break sister's toys. When he does this he gets a longer time out, but it doesn't seem to be helping and I am going crazy! Most people I have asked tell me he needs a spanking, but I don't believe in spankings. I really don't know what else to try! Any Ideas?
