8 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoHelp making a facebook page successful?
I just started the page 2 days ago and I got 4 likes, but I want to make sure it doesn't die before it reaches success. I also would prefer it if I didn't have to spend money advertising it.

12 AnswersPolls & Surveys7 years agoHardcore Punk suggestions?
I already listen to a ton of metal, but I want to branch out a bit.
I've already listened to a few songs by Black Flag and Suicidal Tendencies. I also like the Offspring but they aren't very hardcore at all.
9 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoHelp me understand scene music?
It all sounds the same to same to me. The vocalists usually lack talent and seem to get by on being attractive. The instrumental feels uncreative like they didn't take any time on it.
The lyrics are whiny and generic. The 'messages' that I hear scene kids talk about aren't even unique or original.
Then there is this inflation of bands, who all sound the same. I can imagine the bands bleeding them selves dry fighting over record sales.
I don't get what backs up this music subculture. It feels like a musical phase to me like nu-metal or glam rock except these guys seem to fade much more slowly.
5 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agowhat songs to listen to by BOTDF?
I listened to 'Sexting', 'Mosh and Roll' and 'Bitches Get Stitches'. I was far from impressed but my friend insists I should listen to more before I join the hater band wagon. So suggest their 10 best (or least terrible) songs.

2 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoHelp with gun purchasing?
I want to get a rifle for home defense, I was thinking of an M1 Garland because I think they look cool and have that historic touch to them but I'm not sure if its worth the price and effort or if I should get a different gun altogether.
14 AnswersHunting7 years agoWho's getting tired of 'core' music?
I liked the late 90s and early 2000s metal bands like All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage and Hatebreed but their sound has gotten stale (or they switched to awatered down sound). They aren't taking artistic risks and their music has gotten boring.
Then there are all these 'scene' bands that claim to be metalcore/post-hardcore/emo core or whatever they get labelled as even though they all sound the same. When one of them does something unique and gets attention a gazillion other scene bands pop out with the same sound the next day.
Then we have these death core bands, which has some good offerings but is dominated by bands who rely on the two note chugging and breakdowns. I'm sorry but when I know what an album is going to sound like front to back the second I see it I have a problem.
Grind core is well... A bit too extreme in every way for me.
Personal opinion.
5 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoHow many people think war is caused by religion?
If you go through Yahoo answers enough you'll find people claiming all war was born from religion. How many people really believe that?
And why do they never back up that claim?

2 AnswersLyrics7 years agoWhich is a worse band?
Insane Clown Posse or Blood on the Dance Floor
Personally while I hate their music, I actually have a bit of respect for I.C.P. because they have left their mark on the rap world.
Blood on the Dance Floor seems like their days are numbered.
2 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop7 years agoHelp beginning on guitar?
I just got a 'practice' guitar, from what I understand its only good for learning how to play not actually performing
Anyway I snapped 2 strings within 15 minutes of playing around on it so I haven't gotten a guitar teacher yet. The only thing I know about music is what I learned volunteering at community theater.
What is the difference between a not and a chord? From videos I've seen some guitarists just press one string and strum it while others hold multiple strings and strum all of them, link some video demonstrations please and some videos showing how to put in new strings.
Plus what method of playing works for heavy metal.
1 AnswerRock and Pop7 years agoDoes anyone else find Nu-Metal to not to be a genre?
Commonly agreed is that the first nu-metal record is Korn's debut. Right?
Then we get other bands like System of a Down, Slipknot, Coal Chamber and Soulfly. All of which carried elements similar to Korn's debut.
But then we get Linkin Park, how do they fit in? They don't. If you look up 'Nu-Metal' you get a lack of official sources, the most reliable thing in the search results is wikipedia. Wikipedia simply says Heavy Metal mixed with rap or grunge.
Here's the thing, Korn's debut, the blue print of Nu-Metal if you would call it that, didn't have rap or grunge elements at all. If you look at any published list of nu-metal bands you find bands that have nothing to do with each other. Bands ranging from Limp Bizkit to Disturbed and I.C.P. to Otep.
To add to this most of the publishers of those lists make their disdain for the bands on their lists well known and the lists seem to vary by what the author likes.
So basically from what I'm gathering is nu-metal is a term generated to describe bands that people (typically elitist metalheads, but not limited to) and that's all it is, whether the band is even metal it gets thrown into the 'nu-metal' category.
So do you consider nu-metal to be an actual genre or just a term for bands a person hates.
10 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoBlack Metal v.s. Death Metal?
I wouldn't say I'm really an avid fan of either genres but I prefer death metal.
Black Metal just... It seems to be built on hate and looks. All the bands aim mostly for shock value. They always wind up being obsessive or not serious at all. Some of them are borderline insane. Almost all the big name black metal bands follow the same corpse paint and satanic lyrics formula. I'd listen to christian black metal but those bands just plain suck for musical reasons.
I can't find many black metal bands that have musical ability and don't go 'blah blah blah Satan blah blah heil Hitler blah'
The death metal sound is just too violent. Most of what I listen to is melodeath because it isn't so freakishly creepy, violent and disgusting.
Sorry for the rant.

1 AnswerRock and Pop7 years agoI need to know if this sounds like vengeance?
I was dating a girl, things were fine until she informed me she cut and starved herself (teen relationships) after that she just told me nonstop lies. When we broke up we continued to be friends but she was getting way WAY worse in just matter of days. It was like anything I did to help her just made me an asshole.
So finally, I told her mom, I was the only one to know, but before I was shoved out of her life I wanted someone else to know so they could be there for her. Was it the wrong thing to do?

I'm not trying to preach, I'm just saying if you cut out the stuff about Jesus that book would have some wicked awesome stories.
