Warhammer 40k lost/forgotten legions theory?
I was looking around the warhammer 40k wiki and realised that of the original 20 astartes legions numbers 2 and 11 are 'deleted from imperial records', now considering what the traitor legions did and they still get a mention, whatever these guys did must have been pretty bad, at least in the eyes of the modern imperium. What if they opposed the creation of the imperium as what it is now, I think this because the current imperium is pretty different to what the emperor actually wanted the imperium to stand for, maybe, after the heresy, they stood against the changes, and they were consequently destroyed by the other legions, and we're erased from imperial records because of what they did, whatever that was exactly. And I think they're not mentioned in the heresy novels because GW wants to keep the mystery alive, after all it's a very interesting topic.
Thoughts?
1 AnswerBoard Games7 years agoWhy do people believe in astrology (and other fortune telling pseudoscience, but mainly astrology)?
Mainly astrology because it's the most easily disproven, all you need to do is realize that when these charts were mad we didn't know anything beyond Saturn existed, not to mention 'Venus transitioning through cancer' has absolutely nothing to do with your own life, tht can be proven throug examples of identical twins where one is killed very young and the other becomes a millionaire, they were born at the same place, within minutes of eachother, an they had totally different fates (a nod to Carl Sagan for thinking of that example, RIP to one of the greatest men to ever live). Then of course all these other examples like tarot cards are obvious as well, but if I go into those as well, it'll take me all day to write about it
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoFollow up to my last. Doesn't the so called 'moral panic' seem to follow a trend?
I mean, it's always the new thing that the older generation didn't have as kids that's ruining the kids isn't it? First rock n roll, then movies and tv, then it was (and still is) video games, and the latest 'holy **** it's ruining our kids' trend is the Internet and social media, I've grown up in the times of the last two, I'm a heavy gamer (but not to a point where I have no life, I still have a social life and a job) especially a player of violent games, and I use social media, but not as much as some people my age. My point is, the adults always say how X is ruining their kids while the kids protest, and on the whole, the same happened when the adults were kids with something different, and they turned out fine, unfortunately this trend will probably continue. I just hope when I have kids that I'm on their side, not one of these idiots talking about how the new holophone (or something else futury) trend is ruining our kids
1 AnswerPsychology8 years agoWhy do people consistently blame video games for violence in youth when the evidence Shows the opposite?
The evidence that shows the opposite is admittedly weak, but it's still better than nothing, which the other side has. I know that correlation doesn't mean causation but since Doom came out (perhaps the first video game to get blamed for a murder, ie. columbine) murder rates have actually gone down, maybe this means that the mentally unstable among us think that 'why leave my chair with my Doritos and coke to go murder someone when I can pretend to do it right here without getting off my fat ass to do it' as opposed to 'oh, this is fun to kill people in a simulated reality, I am totally prepared to fire a real firearm at real targets, because this game totally taught me all of that'

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy did god want to keep humans ignorant?
Damnation to hell for wanting knowledge isn't exactly fair, even then it wasn't that great a knowledge, great, we learned how to use our bits, what about germ theory, anti-biotics, technology and so on, why just how to use our pricks and what good and evil are, which still has no clear cut definitions and varies from person to person, although we agree on most things when talking about what is good and bad

1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoHow long will it take humans to create a resistance to antibiotics at the current consumption rate?
I've heard because of so much incorrect use of anti-biotics, for things such as the common cold and other viral infections that they don't work on, in a few generations time, provided we don't find more types of anti-biotics, we could be looking at a scenario similar to what the aliens out of war of the worlds had where we just get overun with diseases we could at one point fight with anti-biotics. But due to the over use a vast majority of the population will be immune to the anti-biotics used to fight the disease and the population will be completely decimated.

Could this have happened due to mutualism between two organisms that provided something the other needed and eventually they formed a single organism. Bonus: any theories on how sexual reproduction evolved?
3 AnswersAnthropology9 years agoWhat's happened to that author who tried to stop AC3 getting released?
You know that ***** sci if author who's suing ubisoft for copyright infringement on overly general things like reliving ancestral memories through a machine and reliving major historical events through them, whic is for the first part, a fairly common sci fi them anyway and if you wrote about that why wouldn't you write about huge historical events. So has this **** backed down yet or what?
1 AnswerMedia & Journalism9 years agoWhat is with Kirk Cameron or whatever his name is, that banana thing is ridiculous?
He says bananas and our hands are made for each other and that they have a "tab" at the top so we can peel it easily, does this guy realist it's a "domesticated" fruit that's been tampered with by humans for these features, which aren't as good as he describes them, they fit "perfectly" because the bananas round, like your hand, seriously, even Christians must laugh at this guy
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy should we stop marriage between certain couples, like homosexuals and 1st cousins for example read details?
First off, I'm going to say I fall into neither category, but I just don't get why people are so paranoid about them. Starting with homosexual marriage, who does it harm? Anyone? No, it doesn't, I mean, yes, aids is a problem but that's limited to those people who chose to take the risk and it's not exactly an unacceptable risk, so why ban homosexual marriage when the church no longer controls the state and all developed "western" countries have religious freedom.
Now, cousins, people have the idea it's incest for whatever reason, the birth defect chances only go up to the same as a woman over 40, no one is suggesting they shouldn't be allowed to have kids, so why cant cousins. Again it's the people involved choice and the risk is not at an unacceptable level, like it would be for immediate family marriages, (brother/sister, mum/dad.). Also, every western country except America has legalized cousin marriage, also, about 25 states in America have legalized it. Anyone who says these to groups should not marry is an ignorant bigot and really needs to grow up.
Here's a report on a study done in wa about cousin marriage if you dont believe me, I dont have anything on gay marriage because you shouldn't need genetic stats for it unless your retarded and believe homosexuals can have their own children, if you do believe this, seriously, go get some help.
