I have a 2005 Impala (3.4L), and my driver side wiper stopped working while on full speed, slinging the whole blade over to the driver side mirror. The passenger blade still works, and the driver side "twitches." I have some mechanical skill (can change an alternator or fuel pump), but know exactly zero about wiper problems. Is this a do-it-yourselfer? Could it be the wiper motor, or does it control both wipers? ANY advice or resource references would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I thought it might be my ISP at first, but no other messenger or program disconnects/resets. The messages sometimes flow normally, but occasionally pause for 5-6 minutes, and I may get a stack at a time (bad for inter-personal relationships). It used to work normally, and I havent changed anything. ideas / suggestions? (besides talk to everyone on Myspace IM ;)

Trying to help a friend with this and I'm not sure where to start... her Taurus's check engine light came on, and the engine continued to idle, but would not accelerate, and smoke started to come from under the hood. The car died, and when you try to start it, it 'tries to start', but won't 'catch.' Nothing obvious under the hood, no scorch marks, oil, coolant spilled. Should I start with the fuel pump/filter, or is there something else that sounds likely? Thanks in advance...

Ordered recovery cd's after a system file came up corrupt, they start the recovery, but after about one minute (before it gets to 1%), it starts to give cannot copy file errors, please clean cd. I take it out, make sure it looks okay, and put it back it, and it works again for a few more seconds. It does it with another file (they change), and goes to a blue background screen with a long message, the error part being "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" It does this with every recovery alternative. Any ideas???

I plugged it in after winter, kept it insulated and safe, now when I turn it on, you can hear the fan power down slightly when the compressor tries to 'kick on,' but it doesn't activate, and after about two seconds, the fan just powers back up. Tried a few different outlets just in case, but same result. Any ideas (besides take it to the shop ;) ?

Base model w/ small 6 (3.4L?)

I have an 05 Impala (with the v6). It sat up for three-four days and a snow storm hit; now it won't start. Judging from the dim lights and sluggishness of the accessories, I'm pretty sure the battery's either dead or needs a good charging. My question is: after I try to start it, fail, and take the keys out, I hear a rapid clicking from the driver's side dash area for about 30 seconds. Any ideas what clicks after the key are out?

I'm new to swamp coolers, but I reeaaaally love mine, so I'm a bit concerned that yesterday, my low/high switch started operating the fan at the same (low) speed. It does this for both the "cool" and "vent" settings. It's a GE Lead-R-Line model. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
