  • Where can I buy Rosa Canina (aka Dog Roses)?

I'm wanting to buy a Rosa Canina 'Assisiensis'. Where can I buy one? Are there specific sites where I could purchase the shrub or seeds? I'd prefer to buy an already started shrub, but if I have to start with seeds I can probably do that also.

I found a similar question on here that had the response "you can buy them online"--that isn't an answer, please be sure to list specific sites.

    Thanks!

  • What faucet would be best?

I'm looking for a pull out spray faucet that has some pressure behind it when you change it to the "sprayer" function. I had bought one like the one here:

    http://www.dealyard.com/catalog/Kitchen-Faucets/De...

The only real problem was that it simply didn't have the pressure behind the spray part to get food off of dishes and stuff. We don't have a water pressure problem (used to have a cheapo sprayer separate from the faucet that had plenty of pressure) so I'm not sure what went wrong with my purchase, but it wasn't what I had in mind.

My budget requires that I stay under $200 for the faucet, and I would really prefer to stay around the $80-$100 range if possible. The style I am hoping to get is something more like this one:

    http://www.faucet.com/decor/product.pl?mid=49450&f...

It needs to be tall like that to compensate for my shallow sinks so that I can easily wash big pans.

Anyone have one that fits my description that they would recommend and where to buy it?

    Thanks!

  • How much to replace a basement?

We were wondering if anyone could give us a figure on what it would cost to replace an existing basement with a new one. It's not possible to put daylight windows into the current basement which has lots of leakage and issues anyway, so we want to just pick the house up, rip the old basement out from under it and put in a new one--complete with new daylight windows.

The best answer would include estimates that show pricing ranges if we decide to finish the basement and another set to keep it unfinished. We live in the state of KS, if that helps with your estimates.

    Thank you!

  • Authentic Italian in Wichita or Salina KS?

  • If financing is hard to get and the houseing market is at a standstill...?

Wouldn't it make sense to assume that housing prices should fall soon? In our area, the housing market has been at a standstill for nearly 3 months, yet no one has lowered their prices on houses.

Is it possible to "persuade" someone to take a more realistic offer on their property? We like a house with an unrealistic price tag for what it would have been even BEFORE the "mortgage crisis"...how can we convince them that our offer is realistic so that we can get the house before it decays further?

  • Is a 21 speed bike really better than an 18 speed?

I'm looking for a new bike since my old one is beyond fixable. I don't know much about biking, I'm not really what you would call an "avid fan" of the sport, but I'm trying to get into shape and especially with gas being so expensive I thought I should try to get into it.

Anyway, I've found 2 that I like, one is an 18 speed and the other is a 21 speed. Is the 21 speed better? We are planning to start doing some trails and stuff, (eventually--when we're in better shape) which I'm told that an 18 speed is awesome for, but wouldn't a 21 be better?

    Thanks for the help!

  • Accounting student in search of a job?

I've less than one year before I finish my degree...I know that soon enough there will be internship opportunities, but I really need a job NOW! Will accounting firms hire someone who isn't finished with school? I'm planning for corporate accounting/auditing when I graduate, but I'd like to go ahead and start now, I just need to know what the odds are of me getting a job like that when my education isn't complete.

    Thanks in advance!!

  • First time homebuyers, KS, good credit, FHA loan approved, questions?

OK, my husband and I are looking for a house--we've done the budget, we know what we can afford that will allow us a bit of wiggle room (i.e. not every dollar goes into our house payment), we've gotten pre-approved for a FHA loan, and now we've got some problems.

    1) Apparently March 31st marks the end of ALL 100% financing options for us (none of the "loan buyers" will buy a 100% loan). Will this affect being able to do the piggyback thing with the 80/20 type loan? Can you even do an 80/20 loan that's an FHA loan?

    2) We seem to be unable to find a house that doesn't need some pretty serious repairs in our price range--knowing that it won't pass an FHA inspection, what other options do we have? Will we have to re-apply to get a conventional loan? I'm told that running credit too many times hurts your score, I don't want them to run it again just to qualify me for a conventional loan at the same institution.

    What are our options?

  • How big of a crate/carrier for my dog?

I am looking to buy a crate/carrier for my dog from an online store--our nearest pet store is quite a ways away, so I won't be visiting there.

My question is, how big of a carrier would you suggest for a rottweiler/beagle/??? mix? I'm 5'2" and he comes nearly to my waist, so I would say he's about 2'8"? I was thinking the XL sized carrier would be the best, but if the large would be big enough, I don't want to waste the extra $20-30.

Also, do I want an actual crate? Or do I want a carrier? It's only for trips to the vet office and moving, so I think I want a carrier, but I'm afraid they would tip over easily.

  • Making my own mosaic tiles for the bathroom?

Does anyone know if you can make your own mosaic tiles for a small bathroom? Is it only realistic for the walls, or can you do it for the floors and have it be "water-tight"? I'm not in the middle of the project or anything, I was just wondering about doing it for a new floor in our bathroom. Also, if the floor wouldn't work, what about a counter-top?

We already have the equipment needed to cut the glass for the mosaic part, and I can easily find patterns for it, but I'm hoping for some input from someone who has done this before or knows of someone who has. What kind of sealant did you use, if any? What sort of backing did you use? What other tips could you give me based on your experience?

    Thanks!

  • Natural healing--information and product advice?

I'm interested in learning more about natural remedies and healing. If anyone knows of any books that would provide useful information that they have personal experience with, I'm interested!!

I'm also looking into where to buy natural products--oils, herbs, etc., to go along with the information provided in the books. I live in a small town, so reliable internet sites are a good option, as well as any other stores anyone knows about that I might be able to find.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hide and Seek testicles??

We have a mutt (we THINK he's a beagle rottweiler mix) that was the most calm, cool, and collected puppy we'd ever seen. However, I think his nuts finally dropped (he didn't used to have a "sack" and we assumed he had been banded) but suddenly he has a nut sack, and his demeanor has changed. He hasn't been treated any differently, and he's not mean, just overly hyper and exciteable. He's also constantly barking at our neighbors dog (he never did this before) and he's started digging (also never did this before) and we are beginning to wonder if he doesn't need to find a new home. His excitement makes him jump on my toddler, and while I know that he's not intentionally hurting him, he just is clumsy and doesn't seem to realize how much bigger he is. I don't know, like I said, he seemed so much more mature(?) when he was a little puppy than he does now that he suddenly has testicles.

Does this make sense? Anyway, what should we do? Has anyone heard of this? Will neutering help?

  • My towels are rough instead of soft?

OK, I've bought some of expensive towels/washcloths/hand towels. They were soft and nice when I bought them, but the first time they were used to clean up after sex, they weren't soft anymore. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem?

I have previously tried using some all natural product called Unique (used to eliminate pet odors and all sorts of other good stuff), I always use fabric softener, and while our water is pretty hard, there isn't anything I can do about it. I also don't have an extra rinse cycle on my washing machine (it's from the stone age, and won't let you start in the rinse cycle on one of the presets either).....I've read all the other responses to similar questions, and none of them haven't been tried or are an impossibility. I'm hoping that since I've come out and said point blank exactly what is causing my rough towels that someone can help me...*insert hopeful smiley here*

    Thanks in advance!

  • Questions about Emigration & Work?

My husband and I are currently American citizens, but we are wanting to move to a foreign country. Does anyone have any experience with moving abroad and finding a job? More specifically with moving to Ireland? That is where we are hoping to move, but we need to find out more information about the whole moving process before we get in over our heads.

We could really use more information on how to find housing, jobs (how do you do interviews before crossing the pond?), education for my son, daycare, and how to transfer from a US college to an Irish one. Also if anyone has any personal recommendations on a particular school/daycare, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

  • Bad breath?

My husband has some serious bad breath, any suggestions for helping it? He brushes and flosses regularly, but even right after he finishes brushing his teeth the bad breath returns...it's seriously dampening our "romance".

    Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!!
