  • What is a good true 1.5V rechargeable triple A battery?

    I need a true 1.5V rechargeable power source. It can NOT be 1.2V like most rechargeable batteries. For convenience I'd like it to be packaged as a double A or triple A battery, but as long as it's rechargeable and small I'll be able to use it.

    I'm using this to power Vishay TSAL6400 LEDs for a Wiimote based head mouse. The LEDs run at 1.35V and draw 100mAh each.

    Please give me model numbers if not store links!

    Thanks!

  • Does leba iii have any harmful side effects?

    So, I have a service dog with a breath and tooth problem. She's about 9, a german shepherd, and near retirement but her old lady breath is stinking up the classrooms she's in. She also has had major orthopedic surgery in the past. I also have a SDIT with a breath problem. ( They're on different foods, etc. I know what else can be done, this is about leba iii in particular )

    I'm a believer in "Nothing in Life is Free" as both a dog training guide, and a decent philosophy about medicinal products. I hear that leba iii has some amazing effects if used consistently and correctly, and I'd much prefer it to putting my dogs under anesthesia. I have not, however, been able to find a reputable place that has a 'con' review as almost everything medicinal has.

    What are the cons of using leba iii, where has it had negative effects on the animals it was given to.

    I've read that it has alcohol in it, and know that alcohol is particularly toxic to dogs. Is this dosage enough that it can pose a risk?

  • Is there a mathematical formula that will tell us what state of matter a material with atomic number X will..?

    be? I.E. element number 21 is Scandium, is there a way to tell, mathematically, just by the number of protons ( it is protons right? I haven't taken chemistry in so long ) it has?

    What about the actual freezing/melting points of the element?

    ( P.S. this is not because I'm anywhere near this in a physics class, but because I'm a math geek that's mind was wandering. I actually originall was wondering if we could tell the actual color of the element at a certain temperature but since most of the time color isn't just a single value... )

  • How much performance will I lose by cutting a pre-made ethernet cable and dropping it in a wall?

    Okay, so I have a 50 dollar budget. My goal is to make a 120-135 foot cat6 cable drop. I cannot afford to get everything to wire the entire house.

    I've always heard that buying a premade cable and cutting the heads off then punching it down will drastically affect performance. Is this true? ( Let's say from the theoretical max of 125MB/s, what would it reduce it to? )

    How much performance am I going to lose by using stranded cable instead of solid? ( Again, from 125MB/s theoretical )

    My network performance is on average 40 megabytes/sec ( Not megabits, in megabits it's 320MBPS ) between slower systems, and 60 megabytes/sec between faster systems. This was taken by using aida32, etc. Can I expect a cable drop like I described to be about the same speed?

    If not, how much more am I going to get by buying solid core cat6 in bulk and running that?

    Thanks!

  • Human relationship model using the parent-adult-child states..?

    I can't remember what it's called exactly, it's similar to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transactional_analysi... but it was about people in relationships.

  • I've heard that 50% of all married women have affairs, what about..?

    Okay, so I hear that about 50% of all married women have an affair at some point or another. I was wondering what the number ( preferably from a source that confirms this 50% number ) was for men, and if any studies had been done with more defined groups than just 'men/women'. ( I.E. I'm particularly interested in social class/income level, then of course there's always the generic race, sexuality, location/city, etc breakdowns. )

  • Which pet insurance policy for a service dog?

    So, I had a choice between VPI, AKC, or the ASPCA plans. Then I googled to try to figure out which one would best serve my service dog in training.

    He's currently 5 months old and a german shepherd puppy. I'm on a 500 dollar a month paycheck that has to cover my current service dog's expenses, my own medical expenses, dog food and toys, and his healthcare.

    In the past two days I've ended up with over 350 dollars in emergency vet bills, given the lion's share is to my current working dog, and I try to keep my account over 500 dollars at all times for emergencies, but we're still diagnosing and I had to ask for help for the vet bills today.

    So, considering these are working dogs that, to put a dollar amount on them, will be worth 10 to 20 thousand dollars after they're fully trained considering time in by professional trainers and myself ( I am owner training under the guidance of dog trainers ), what insurance plan should I get to make certain he has healthcare, I can afford my own copays, and I can take care of my old service dog as she retires?

    I'd like answers ONLY FROM people who have used these insurance plans for vet bills totaling about or over 550 dollars or have had a lifetime reimbursement >$3000.

  • How to keep spiders out of closet?

    So, I have a bit of an issue. We moved out to a country-ish location and are having to make peace with the insects. Unfortunately spiders have made their way into my closet and are frequently hiding in my clothing. So far I've had about five very painful bites from house spiders, but I am in Oklahoma and we do have more sinister spiders that I really don't want to deal with. I'm still shaking as I had one crawl out from the sleeve of my shirt and make its way down my arm.

    What can I do - considering I have very sensitive skin ( so these bites are especially painful ) and don't want to reek of chemicals - to keep these spiders out of my clothing and out of my closet?

    Bonus points if you can help me keep them away from my bed at night.

  • Deriving trigonometric identities?

    So, I'm in an online trig class ( a mistake I know ) and have proctored tests.

    In the tests we get no given equations nor are we allowed to bring notes. I am however allowed to use my TI-89 barring flat out putting notes on it.

    So, the identities I will have to memorize, derive, and use are:

    Sine, Cosine, and Tangent of a sum or difference:

    sin(a+b) = sinA*cosB + cosA*sinB

    sin(a-b) = sinA*cosB - cosA*sinB

    cos(a+b) = cosA*cosB - sinA*sinB

    cos(a-b) = cosA*cosB + sinA*sinB

    tan(a+b) = (tanA + tanB)/(1-tanA*tanB)

    tan(a-b) = (tanA-tanB)/(1+tanA*tanB)

    The double-angle identities:

    cos2A = cos^2(A) - sin^2(A)

    Cos2A = 2*cos^2(A) - 1

    cos2A = 1 - 2sin^2(A)

    sin2A = 2sin(A)*cos(A)

    tan2A = (2tan(A))/(1-(tan^2(A))

    The product to sum identities:

    cosA * cosB = (1/2) [cos(A+B) + cos(A-B)]

    sinA * sinB = (1/2) [cos(a-b) - cos(a+B)]

    sinA * cosB = 1/2[sin(a+b)+sin(a-b)]

    cosA * sinB = 1/2[sin(A+B) - sin(A-B)]

    The sum to product identities:

    sinA + sinB = 2sin((A+B)/2) * cos((A-B)/2)

    sinA - sinB = 2cos((A+B)/2) * sin ((A-B)/2)

    cosA + cosB = 2cos((A+B)/2) * cos((A-B)/2)

    cosA - cosB = -2sin((A+B)/2) * sin((A-B)/2)

    and the half angle identities:

    cos(A/2) = +/- ((1+cosA)/2)^(1/2)

    sin(A/2) = +/- ((1-cosA)/2)^(1/2)

    tan(A/2) = +/- ((1-cosA)/(1+cosA))^(1/2)

    tan(A/2) = (sinA)/(1+cosA)

    Tan(A/2) = (1-cosA)/(sinA)

    Pardon my calculator-style notes.

    So, which ones should I memorize and which ones should I derive and how?

  • Can I double major as a CS and engineering and minor in CGI?

    I'm looking at going to TU, which is a pretty rigorous school. My passion is technology and I plan on double majoring in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. I want to minor in Computer Generated Imagery / 3D Animation. Assuming TU allows this, am I loading too much onto my plate?
