  • MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick-drivers?

MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick-Windows 7 recognizes it (also Win XP) and says it’s working correctly, but nothing happens. (Win says no driver files required or loaded) does Win saying it’s OK mean much?

    [thanks Bob]

    Additional Details

I can go through the calibration steps, when I try to select configuration either from the list (Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick)or custom it says "your gameport or gameport driver are not properly configured. please consult device manager" .

Ther are 5 listing-3 for the joystick, they all say working properly including the one for the Precision 2 HID drivers.

Can I deduce from the fact that I can calibrate it that the joystick itself is working correctly?

Seems like that only leaves driver-where is a good source?

  • MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick-do I need drivers?

MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick-I heard that windows support these and they are tough, so I found one and plugged it in. Windows 7 recognizes it and says it’s working correctly, but nothing happens. (Win says no driver files required or loaded) Do I need Updated drivers? The joystick is used so there is that too, does Win saying it’s OK mean much?

I've got a LOT of these in my lawn, and would like to know how to get rid of them. Tried roundup and all it seems to do is kill the grass around them.

    Thanks

  • HID conversions for motorcycles - lens?

Even though I've heard that a different Lens is needed so the light doesn't scatter.

Seems like people must just put in the bulbs and ballast since the lens are all different shapes.

Is this a case of a halogen light Lens being the correct Lens or just all they can get so they go with it? Are there aftermarket lights w/ lenses intended for HID.

  • 90s Escort suspension springs-educate me?

    The situation:

I have a 95 Escort wagon that the rear springs have collapsed/broken on.

The wrecking yard has alternately said any 91-96 or any 93-96 spring interchanges-except Escort GT. ALL the wagons in wrecking yard have same problem as mine, so it would be good if there is a stiffer spring that

    won't change my ride height.

The Ques: Which year range is correct? Will an Escort GT spring do what I want (have a pair of 91s at wrecking)? Is the spring from a 97 different? stiffer?

    Thanx
