  • Bad idea to have washer/dryer in clothing closet?

So I'm thinking about signing the lease on an apartment with the washer and dryer located in the clothing closet. I'm concerned that the moisture and heat from the washer and dryer will ruin my clothes. Is this a legitimate concern?

    Thanks!

  • Do I trademark, copyright, start an LLC, or all of the above?

I have a fictional movie/comic book character that I created, so if I want to brand this character, do I start an LLC (ex: "ABC Entertainment") and specify all of the things I would do? Or do I also have to get individual copyrights for the book, comic book, the screenplay for the movie, the TV pilot, and the video game?

So I would trademark the name "ABC Entertainment" and then copyright "ABC Entertainment, LLC". And then in the LLC description, I would say "ABC Entertainment is my production company through which I produce TV, movies, video games, books, comic books, all starring ABC. ABC Entertainment also sells ABC brand clothing and toys."

Is this how I would go about this?

(Note: I was using "ABC" and "ABC Entertainment as example names.)

    Thanks!

  • Will a record label sign you if you've already released all your music independently?

Will a record label sign you if you've already released all your music independently? Like, will they sign you and then release your songs under their label, even though you've already released them to the public on a "mixtape"?

    Thanks.

  • Don't you hate how people think they can say rude things as long as they say "Just kidding" afterwards?

I have this theory that people think they can say whatever rude stuff they want as long as they say "Just kidding" afterwards. I'm like, "No you're not."

    Thanks!

  • What does Jamaican "RRR" stand for? Sean Paul always says it on Twitter.?

Sean Paul (the Jamaican dance hall singer/rapper) always goes, "RRR!!!" But not like he's roaring like a lion. I think it's an acronym. The only RRR acronym I could find on the internet was Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.

  • How does a person refer you to their talent agent?

Does the actor/teacher refer you to their agent verbally? Or do you say in your cover letter "John Doe referred me." And if you say in your cover letter that they referred you, do you also list their phone number?

    Thank You.

  • Do you think the audition instructor just doesn't like me?

So I auditioned for the Groundlings Level 1 twice and "DID NOT PASS" both times. The first time I auditioned, I sucked because I had never done improv before. The second time I auditioned I was hella good and got the entire room laughing at everything I did...yet still failed. I have researched online, and I am apparently the only person who has ever failed the Groundlings audition. No seriously, there are people on blogs who are like, "I'm a hobo off the streets and I got into the Groundlings! Woo hoo! I have a warm place to hang out for a while! Now I just have to come up with the money for the class!" Okay, there haven't been any hobos. But there are people who say they are housewives who have never acted before, who just want to take Groundlings classes so they have an excuse to get out of the house. And those people pass the Level 1 audition!

Since the last time I auditioned, I have taken improv and acting classes at other schools. I am positive that I am 100 billion times better. Yet you only get to audition at the Groundlings three times, and I have a feeling that the audition instructor just doesn't like me. So he's purposely going to fail me all three times.

Like, he would give everyone else positive comments, no matter how unfunny and awkward the stuff they said was. And everything I said, he would criticize me. Even though all of the other auditioners were cracking up at what I said. And my acting teacher and all of the people in my acting classes always tell me how funny I am and that I should really focus on comedy.

So if you were me, wouldn't you just take a hint and skip the third Groundlings audition? It's the same audition instructor each time and I could tell by the way he looked at me when I walked in that he was pissed that I dared to audition again. That would be pretty embarrassing if I went back to audition a third time and the audition instructor failed me again. Which he probably will.

    Thanks.

  • Can I sue the same person twice in California small claims court?

I need to sue this music beat maker/producer for my money back. I paid him $16,100 for 16 beats. He said that covered the beat, vocals, and copyright. And now he's saying I still owe him $4200. He has yet to make me ANY of the beats. I'm not giving him ANYMORE money, and he treats me like crap so I don't want to work with him at all anymore. I just want to sue for all of my money back and move on.

I never signed anything that said he got to keep my money. There were no contracts. I just corresponded through email and text. I unfortunately lost my old cell phone, the one with the original texts that proved he said it was $800 for the beat and vocals. And then later texts showed him saying he raised the price to $1000 per beat to include copyright.

Now he's saying that a beat with copyright is $1100, and that I would owe him an extra $200 for vocals, for a total of $1300 per song with beat, vocals, and copyright. HE'S A LYING SACK OF CRAP!

So in California small claims court, I know that $7500 is the most you can sue someone for, and you can sue for amounts over $2500 twice per year.

So can I sue for $7500 of the amount I gave him twice, therefore getting $15,000 back? Like, do two separate cases?

    Thanks.

  • Strasberg Method Acting class question?

My teacher makes us close our eyes and visualize that we are holding a coffee cup for an hour at the beginning of each class. I think this is stupid and boring and a waste of our class time. Did your method acting teacher make you do this?

  • Should I rent out my house?

So u stupidly moved to Los Angeles to do Hollywood stuff but I want to go back to AZ because I own a fully paid for house in AZ. I own a 3 bed 3 bath house with a pool and a treadmill. I have it made there. But in LA I have nothing. I hate LA. I would make over $2000 per month for renting out my house. But I wanna head back to AZ whenever I want to to get away from LA. Or perhaps just move back for good and forget this Hollywood bullshiz. So what do you think is more important: money from renting it out or having a house to go back to?

I don't want some random people in my house putting holes in the walls and doing God knows what else in there for a two year lease period! And believe me, i have NICE house there. And i know they'll destroy my house because they have three kids and since they're just renting it, they won't give a crap about keeping it nice. So some random people will be sitting pretty in my house in AZ while I suffer in LA. It makes me bitter.

    Thanks for your input.

  • Don't wanna move into aunt's house but feel bad about it?

So my aunt wants me to move into her back house even though I have an apartment is Santa Monica. Plus she says her daughter needs a friend, AKA me. I'm 24 and her daughter is 17. I'm a comedic actor who graduated from university already and her daughter is just entering college. So i feel like her kids are sweet but...uh....I feel guilty for not wanting to move in. Should I just be a people pleaser and move in or should I try to say I can't move in even though it would anger/let down my aunt? Thanks for your advice.

  • What is the sales tax percentage?

I paid $7.57 for retail items at the grocery store. The sales tax was $0.62. The total was $8.19.

I am unsure of how you configure the sales tax percentage since I suck at math equations.

    Thanks!

  • Does a pest seal work for scorpions or should I also get a separate scorpion seal?

I am getting a pest seal spray on my house (in Phoenix) next week. Should I get a separate scorpion seal or would the quarterly pest spray be sufficient to ward off scorpions?

    Thank You.

  • Should I sue my music producer for displaying my music on his website without my permission?

So this crooked music producer from france got a ton of money from me. I bought 16 beats from him. But he keeps sending them to other people and saying "do you want this one because other girl want it". And i'm like, "YES! I BOUGHT IT! I'LL SUE YOU IF YOU SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!" And he keeps posting the beats I bought on his Reverbnation page, even though he made me pay extra for the copyrights to all the beats. So he's putting MY beats that I legally own on his websites WITHOUT MY PERMISSON! Should I just sue him for all my money back? I really don't want to work with him anymore. He is a French gypsy thief.

  • What Sony download do I need to play videos that recorded straight from camera?

I have a DCR-SX44 and I was recording into built in memory (as opposed to memory card). I have uploaded the videos but they won't play, this the Geek Squad lady told me I need to download software from Sony website, but she didn't say the name of the software. Anybody know the name of the Sony software I need to open the video files/play them...I eventually need to upload them to YouTube.
