There are certain "GMAT Sample Videos" at http://www.gmatpill.com/ . I want to find out what "technology" is used to created these videos. I mean, they are not YouTube videos. Just very simple basic but effective learning videos that can be embedded on the sites. How to create these. Do these videos use some third party LCMS package (Learning content management system) ?

What is the subject of this sentence:

"Mercedes is considered the best ever car".

I think the subject is not mentioned at all, since the above is a passive voice sentence. It is the 'public' (or whoever considers Mercedes the best car ever) which should be the subject.

Could someone please let me know what it means when someone says "conseravative estiamtes". For example:

Even going by conservative estimates, the total cost of the Iraq war is $750 billion.

I understand that generally 'enhance' is a 'verb'; however, how about the following sentence:

The additional speaker will help enhance the quality of sound.

I would think 'enhance' is used as a noun above. Can someone please clarify.

I would think the second one is correct, since 'sand' is un-countable noun and uncountable nouns are always singular.

The subject says it all. I want to create a blog and integreate the blog with a website that I already have. Is there an internet forum for technical issues with Blog creation? My initial inclination was towards WordPress, but my website hosting provider does not support mySQL, which is a pre-requisite for WordPress.

I would like to discuss and seek opinion on a pertinent forum about what my options are. Since WordPress is apparently native to 'Linux', while my website is hosted on Windows, I would be curious to find which blog software could be best suited for Windows/MSSQL combination.

In the above sentence, why is "reading" a 'participle' and not a 'verb'. Reading, as used above identifies an action performed by the subject John. What else does a verb do that "reading" does not do in the above case.

The correct sentence obviously is:

My mother asks why I bite my nails.

What I am looking for is the 'grammatical' explanation as to why the first usage is wrong.

I have the following sentence:

"The Quetzalcoatlus had a wingspan of 36 feet, believed to be the largest flying creature the world has ever seen".

As per my understanding, "believed to be..." is a past participial phrase. Is my understanding correct?

Also, I read a grammatical rule: "Participial phrase attached to the independent clause with a comma modifies a subject of the independent clause.". If this is true, the phrase "believed to be.." should modify Quetzalcoatlus and so, the above sentence should be correct.

However, my English grammar teacher tells me that this sentence is wrong, since the phrase "believed to be.." is modifying "wingspan of 36 feet" in the above sentence.

Which of the below usages is correct?

1. I regard that woman both as my mother and as my friend.

2. I regard that woman both as my mother and friend.

Please explain your choice as well.
