  • Are these sake bottles expensive in Japan?

    http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/keithwilson/keit...

I have one of these traditional looking sake bottles brought to me by my uncle who lived in Japan. Now I want to ask him to contact his friends from Japan to send me a couple more, but I would like to know the cost before I do that... (I would have to pay the penalty at the customs if one bottle is more than 70 EUR=9300 JPY)

So, how expensive are these in Japan? And is there some kind of law against sending alcohol abroad?

PS: These usually come in a closed box, with inscriptions on it, right?

  • How can I gain access to Cambridge Journals Online?

Title is pretty much self - explanatory.

  • Windows 7 password recovery?

I forgot my Windows 7 password on my K52JU laptop. Stupid as I am I had the password on administrator account, so no logging in as an administrator will work.

    No password reset disk either.

I understand I can boot from bootable USB with some password recovery program. But I can not seem to make it boot from USB. It just skips the black screen.

Worst of all is I don't have boot choice menu, no F9 to select which device I want to use for boot.

And I have a weird Aptio setup instead of BIOS. So I am not even sure if setting USB for a no1 priority in boot meny of that BIOS like thing, made it really no1 priority at all. Since in save and exit menu I see Po:st9320325as first on the list and USB device below it. Like sub section. DVD device is no2.

  • Is it possible to quote, or paraphrase someones' entire article or several passages in your book or study?

    Need help with an argument.

If person A wants to publish a study/book which would include several hundred pages on various themes concerning one historical nation, let's say Romans - would it be possible for him to paraphrase entire articles from works of persons B,C,D,E - in chapters concerning politics, war, ethics etc..while adding his own views in some other chapters.

Is it considered stealing or cheating? And does paraphrasing/translating entire articles need some permission of the author or him signing a final work or something.

Of course, as all other quotes/paraphrases they would be neatly referenced in footnotes.

  • Combat puncture and slash wounds?

Looking for someone with knowledge of emergency medicine...I am researching ancient warfare, and I need info on battle wounds. Puncture and slash wounds to be exact...but a bit more specific.

To make myself more clear, I need examples, explained ones, about wounds a person might sustain in a cold weapon combat(short, not very sharp sword and a spear). I have some examples of what I need, and I will write them at the end, but I need more examples, especially for lower extremities.

Examples I have: ''Spear puncture through the side of the neck, lacerates carotid artery, internal and external jugular vein, person bleeds quickly, after 10-15 sec he falls unconscious and bleeds to death.''

'' Sword hits left clavicula area, lacerates subclavian vein and artery, internal jugular vein, pierce the top of the lungs, blood squirts a few times, person is unconscious in about 15 seconds, and others can only watch him die'''

Examples I would like to have for example: ''..a puncture wound, let's say from a spear tip, lacerates a femoral artery and (what else), untreated/or state if treating is impossible...it causes blood loss and (what else, pressure drop etc...) and in XX seconds/minutes person goes unconscious and dies.

    Also:

1- what are puncture and slash wounds to lower extremities that are survivable..Muscle lacerations etc..and what are those which are not.

2- What are the puncture wounds to the groin and lower abdomen that are survivable and what are those who aren't..What has to be punctured in order for a person to die, and what can be punctured without death income..bladder for example or anything else...

I would appreciate it very much.

Let's say writing a book about subject concerning costume design or movie props, is it legal to use screenshots from Hollywood movies in it? Obtained from Google in one case, or obtained from movie itself in other case?

  • Black dress shirt with a black coat...?

Wedding day. What do you think about groom wearing black dress pants, black coat and a black dress shirt, without a tie, unbuttoned at the top...Groom is very muscular, and it will be summer time wedding, so tie or bow tie is not an option for a long period of time, since it is uncomfortable.

Bride is wearing this kind of wedding dress.

So what do you think about his combination as well as the combination of the two of them together.

  • How long does it take for bronze to develop basic patina?

How long would it take for a piece of bronze to develop the patina, that would change it color from golden to darker brown/green/olive.

I am not asking about that puffy green patina, bronze decease etc..but about that basic thin patina that develops first and that does not come off with basic low polish.

Here is the illustration of it... http://s13.postimage.org/9guhw0bcn/patina.jpg

Blue lines representing what I want to ask about...Red lines being basic bronze color below the thin film. The pale green patina is not what I am asking about.

I am trying to learn what was the original state of these ancient pieces of armor. It is obvious that pale green patina wasn't there in time this helmet was used..The piece was certainly cleaned so that bronze decease could not be developed...

But I am also not sure if it was golden yellow as well, since I think it was hard for it to remain like it, it would require high polishing, served no purpose, and removed protective layer of bronze..and with this question I want to give an argument that it would require very often polishing for it to remain golden color...

In other words I am leaning towards that in ancient time this helmet was having that thin basic patina(blue line) that would still be protective, that required only low polishing to ensure bronze decease doesn't develop..

  • Gingivitis, getting rid of the thing...?

My teeth are a bit crowded...especially in the lower jaw. With my wisdom teeth growing they became more crowded, and there is not enough space for them. If some popcorn (big fan of them) kernel gets stuck between my lower or upper incisors (usually them only) my gums are swollen after few hours or in the morning...This time I got the same sensation in lower incisors. But the pain and swelling is still here after few days.I am not sure but I think it spreads, and getting worse..since entire jaw/gums are sore and hurt, not just the lower incisors which are now obviously darker and swollen..It hurts badly and my gums bleed slightly, not too much. I use Parodontax toothpaste, and Parodontax mouthwash 3x a day for 4 days now, mouthwash is kinda painfull,ok very painfull..especially on the tongue and inner cheeks.

Is it gingivitis, since they are mostly located in lower incisors and should I treat it like that..I am not able to visit dentist for a week at least.

What are the circumstances..Year..Match...Reason for Serbs to do what they did here?

(for those who don't know two guys with beer are Serbs, the guy in checkered shirt is Croat..And you all probably know the history between the two nations)

An inspiring photo by the way...Quite glad to see it,despite everything that happened between Serbs and Croats.

  • Can you wear T-shirt with dress shoes?

I am going to a wedding, more less casual one. I thought I wear black t shirt with some abstract red/white print, nothing too big and it doesn't say anything....blackish jeans and black dress shoes.(It is already 30+C where I live so hot weather is another issue)

PS: That is the third wedding in the same family in the last two months and I ran out of combinations with dress shirts.
