What are the advantages/disadvantages to giving my daughter goats milk?
My daughter is 13 months and she is a very picky eater. We have a terrible string of unfortunate health events such as teething, ear infections and common colds in the past few months but she always seems to be upset, not feeling well, not eating, diarreah, gas...
We have seen a few doctors and they all aren't sure what to tell me. Her ears are clear, no cold, yes she is teething but... could it be cows milk?
I want to switch to goats milk but I am not sure if it will help at all. Has anyone else made the switch from cows milk to goats milk with their little ones and seen a difference? Why did you switch in the first place and what has changed?
It is quite expensive and very hard to get so by taking this matter into my own hands while we wait for an appt. with a peditrician I am curious to hear other ppls experiences. Thanks for your mature responce... I am just a mommy trying to make my baby girl feel better :(
14 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoWill mom be pals with pup?
I have a 2 year old siberian husky and thinking about letting her have a litter before wer get her fixed. We would like to keep a pup, she could use a friend! Will she be pals and play with get pup or would this idea backfire and mom won't play with her own pup at all?
3 AnswersCats10 years agoFussy baby after eating...?
My daughter is a month old and the past couple weeks she seems to get pretty fussy after she eats
She is strictly breastfed, eats like a piglet until she pulls off. She lays there sleepy, I burp her, offer her the breast again, she takes a little then pulls off and starts to cry. She acts very hungry again... I give her the boob again, she latches then pulls off almost with anger and cries.
I'm not sure what this is all about. I have reluctantly decided to give her a soother and it works but she freaks out when the soother falls out.
Any ideas?
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow long did it take you to fully heal?
I gave birth to my beautiful daughter almost a month ago and feel pretty good but know I'm not fully healed yet. I had a vacuum assisted birth with an episiotomy. The bleeding has subsided and the pain is pretty well gone. Just a little tenderness.in my muscles and for some strange reason the clitoral area. ???
How long did it take you to fully heal?
How long till you felt ready to be intimate again?

6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow and when did your labor start?
I have reached my due date and thought for sure she was coming early. I have had all kinds of pains and last night I thought THIS IS IT!
I am having sharp shooting pains in my abdomon, sides, ribs, legs... lol I can feel my pelvis separating and it cracks when I am trying to shift sides while sleeping. I am getting soreness throughout my whole belly and I even woke up 3 times each 10 minutes apart thinking this is a contraction... then I fell asleep and didn't wake up for 2 hours... so much for that idea, lol.
Just wondering how and when your labor started? I am convinced with the major discomforts I am having throughout the night that labor will occur at night for me, I keep telling myself "if you made it through the night, you will be waiting another day."

4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoDue in a week or 2 and still no colostrum...?
know your milk may not some in for a few days after you have given birth but I am starting to get worried I will have NOTHING to feed my little one when she arrives.
I really want to breast feed... I thought the colostrum would come in a couple weeks before the labor, I heard about lots of woman experiencing leaking in the last trimester.
What do you think ladies? When did you know you were equipped and ready?

6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoCan ceaser salad really be THAT bad while your pregnant?
I have read all the food restrictions that are out there about what NOT to eat during pregnancy. But ceaser salad, really?
Do not eat anything made with raw eggs, such as ceaser dressing... but no where does it say anything about mayo, hmmm.
I am dying for a good ceaser salad, it's been 8 months almost, can I have one please? lol
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoEmbarassing... diarrhea contractions...?
I am 30 weeks pregnant. Last night I woke up about 1am and had a really really bad cramp. I thought I needed to go to the bathroom (you know #2) and so I sat there and started to feel intense pain. Like a contraction, (my 1st pregnancy so I only THINK I know what a contraction feels like) I breathed through it until it eased off and I got scared... thought
'was that just a contraction??? Oh my God... am I going into labor?" Then another came, painful, and another. I was uncomfortable and started to feel shaky and nauseous. I felt like going to the bathroom but couldn't push. Thought maybe I was coming down with the flu...
I started to get quite scared. It all stopped for a bit. I got up and went back to bed. I was there about 5 -10 min and it started again. Same thing. I went to lay down a third time for a few minutes and when I felt it starting again... the pain being quite bad, I finally had some relief. Diarrhea, bad.
I know it is gross, but has anyone else ever experienced this? Why was I feeling these intense contractions that it made me think I could be in labor?? After the relief I went back to bed and that was that. The whole episode lasted about 2 hours. Felt feverish, hot with shivers... and then I was fine.
It was strange and wondering if I was experiencing something to do with being pregnant or is it entirely unrelated to being pregnant?
Anyone?
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoYour take on WATER BIRTH?
I am pregnant with my first child and considering a water birth. I have watched a few videos and have always thought this is how I wanted to do it. After seeing the chaos and panic in a hospital setting with my sisters first birth, I would like to be more at peace. I have fears about pain, bleeding and normal worries any one has about labour. Just wondering if I can get some personal experiences from some women out there who have done this in the past.
I don't know if it makes a big difference but I am in Canada. The water birth would take place in my home with a midwife. I just want the baby to get here healthy! But I also want to enjoy the experience and be as comfortable as possible.
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhen did you take your belly ring out... and did it ever go back in?

Thanks
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhen do you feel the baby move for the first time?
I just can't wait. I know it takes a little longer for the first time mom to feel the baby move I am just so excited about it. I sometimes lay still with my hand on my abdomon just waiting for a little something but all I can feel is my own heartbeat. lol
I'm almost 18 weeks... it should be anytime now right?
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhen does the baby move up into the tummy area?
I'm almost 18 weeks and my belly is getting round and hard. The baby is still under my belly button and can't wait for it to move on up so I can feel a little more comfort with the pressure in that area...
Any ideas when this will start to happen? I know it all depends on how the baby is growing and when it needs more room but.....
I can't wait to feel the baby move and I think once eit moves up I will feel it for sure!

2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoI don't know when the right time to tell the boss is...?
I am having a really ahrd time with this. It's a long story so I will keep it short.
I got fired from my last job, then got pregnant. In order for me to recieve MAT leave I have to work 600 hours. So I got off my *** and looked for a job. I found one where they really like me and I really like the job. I was thinking originally to wait untill my probation period is over, but I would be 5 months along by then.
I work mainly alone so it's not like they will notice me getting bigger. And I am covering it well with loose fitted clothing. I'm almost 3 months now and I really want to tell them. I am afraid they will fire me because I am still new and they won't want to invest any more time and training into someone who will be leaving in a few months anyway.
But if I don't tell them and I wait... I don't want to blind side them and say "oh, by the way, I'm 5 months pregnant and will be going on mat leave in 3 months..." That's not cool either. I feel so decietfull hiding it....
What do I do?????????
1 AnswerPregnancy1 decade agoI'm a little embarassed to ask this...?
I'm 10 weeks pregnant. I am one of those girls that have been having some spotting and bleed a tiny bit each month around the time of my period. I know, not as lucky as those without. I have had two ultrasounds and not too concerned about any of this but it seems strange to me that (embarassing part) when I try to go #2 (which being pregnant is hard sometimes) I bleed a little. It goes away quite quickly but.... does anyone else experience this? Or have you ever had this?
I don't want any gross answers just sort of looking for someone to let me know I am not alone!
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoslight bleeding after intercourse?

2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhich pets are dangerous to be around (or clean up after) while pregnant?
I'm almost 7 weeks. I need a job... I might be able to get a job at a pet store.... I know cleaning up after cats is a big no-no but what about fish, reptiles and rodents (hamsters, gerbils...)
I also have a a lizard at home... is it unsafe for me to be near it or the crickets it eats???
I will have to talk to the doctor about this one I think. There isn't much info on the net.
Is it safe to work in a pet store while pregnant????
