  • High hCG levels? Any Sonographers or someone who might know?

I should be 5w3d or 5w4d today. According to my LMP it's 5w3d but according to when I ovulated, I'm 5w4d. My levels have been very high. At 5w1d, they were 16,399 when the max normal for 5w is usually 7,000. My levels have been more than doubling every 48 hours, except my levels slowed down a little between the last two. I've had 5 BETAs done and went as follows:

13 DPO (days past ovulation), 185

    15 DPO, 446

    17 DPO, 1430

    19 DPO, 3280

    21 DPO, 8720

    23 DPO, 16,399

I had an ultrasound on Dec 11th (levels were 8720) and there was a gestational sac seen, but no yolk sac or fetal pole seen (I was 4w6d or 5w0d). They never measured the gestational sac to tell me how far along I measured. I know I'm not farther along because I'm 100% positive I ovulated on Nov 20th (and LMP was Nov 8th).

With how high my levels are, I fear a Molar Pregnancy but the nurse said my levels would probably be higher (although according to Google, Molars have higher levels but not all have extremely high levels so I could still fall into that category).

My question is, has anyone had high levels like mine and everything was okay? And with my levels being over 8,000 at my ultrasound, why wasn't more visible? I would think with my levels being as high as they were, a yolk sac would have at least been visible. Maybe it wasn't visible because regardless of my levels, I still wasn't far enough along. I don't know. I have another ultrasound on Wed but I'm freaking myself out and need some feedback in the meantime.

  • Is it normal to have the puppy blues?

We got an Aussie puppy 3 days ago. She's 7 weeks and 5 days today, so only 7 weeks and 2 days when we got her. That seems a bit young to me, but the breeder said 7-8 weeks is fine? Anyway, long story short, I feel depressed having her and have actually cried a few times. She's as cute as a button and housebreaking and crate training are coming along, but I feel SO incredibly tied down. I know puppies are a lot of work and this wasn't an impulsive decision to get her. We did a lot of research beforehand. I guess it's one of those things where you have to.actually experience it to understand how it actually feels. I knew it would be work, but it hit me harder than I realized it would. My boys are both in school all day now, so when my husband and boys leave for the day, I'm used to having a house to myself to clean, run errands, etc. Now, I can't hardly even watch a show on TV because I can't take my eyes off of her and I have to take her out to go to the bathroom constantly. I've also been having to get up every 1-2 hours at night to bring her out and it's cold out and it sucks. I'm dead tired My husband is trying to help, but I'm the one home all day and he has to get up for work at 6 am so I'm the one taking her out at 1 am, 3 am, etc. I feel like I almost have post partum depression, but from a puppy instead of a baby. Will these feelings fade away? I called a few vets just to get some insight and one of them was kinda mean and just told me I should give hee back to the breeder, but I'm trying to AVOID that but getting encouragement and holding out long enough to adjust because my whole daily routine has been flipped upside down. Please tell me it gets easier!

  • Is a cash bar for our wedding tacky?

We plan on having a cash bar at our wedding in September and I Googled how much we will need to purchase (we have to purchase the alcohol up front, but then the guests will be charged at the wedding to cover the cost of the alcohol). The more research I did, the more I realized a lot of people were saying its tacky and rude to charge for the drinks. Here is what we were planning on doing. We were going to provide ALL pop, water and 2 kegs of beer for our guests and only charge for the wine, champaigne and mixed drinks. I've heard of that being done at many weddings. I was in two different weddings last year and they both did the same thing. I didn't view it as tacky in the least. Opinions?

  • Will my fiance get a temporary sheet before his social security card comes?

My fiance is supposed to be starting a new job in 2 weeks and he has to bring his social security card in for them to copy, along with his license and birth certificate. Unfortunately we can't find his SSC anywhere! He's going to the SS office tomorrow to apply for a replacement card, but I don't think he'll get it in the mail in time. Will they give him any type of temporary form/sheet to show that he has a new one coming in the mail? I'm nervous that he won't be able to start this job without it and he's been laid off for 9 months. He really needs the job and its a good paying job. I'm all stressed out now!

  • Should I let my bridesmaid be in the wedding or tell her no?

So I just found out my fiance's step sister is pregnant. She just found out last week and told everyone. Our wedding is Sept 24th and she's due Sept 11th. That's only 13 days before our wedding. With pregnancy, you can go early or even late. If she were to go late, she could have the baby literally within a couple days before the wedding and I just don't see how that would work. We would have to order her dress a couple sizes too big and then get last minute alterations and hope it fits. The problem with doing that though, is if we do it that way and she ends up not being able to be in it for whatever reason (dress doesn't fit, she goes late, has a c-section) then we will have already put our order in for her bridesmaid bouquet, purchased her wedding gift and then we would have an extra groomsman. A lot of arrangements go into each bridal party member. I just feel like its cutting it way too close and I really don't feel like spending extra money on a bouquet, gift and having an extra groomsman and having it all messed up. Even if she has the baby on her due date or a little early, she's gonna be so exhausted and sore from just having a baby. What would you do?

  • Hair stylists/Cosmetologists..what is the best STORE brand of shampoo and conditioner?

Anyone can answer obviously, but I would really like to hear from professionals that truly know what they're talking about.

I've been told by several stylists that store brand shampoos and conditioners aren't very good and I should really try to get salon brands. I'm trying to repair my hair and haven't straightened or colored it in over a year and I really want to use the "good" shampoos and conditioners, but I honestly can't afford it! I wanted to get Biolage but its like $17-30 a bottle and we're saving for a wedding. I just can't spend that much every month on washing my hair. What store brand can I buy that is as good as I can get, next to having salon brands? Is there anything comparable or anything better than the rest?

  • I think he hit on me..what would you do?

I got this job about 3 months ago. This family put an ad up on Craigslist, looking for a housekeeper/cook to come to their home 3 afternoons/evening a week. I got the job. Everything was going dandy, until tonight. The wife left at about 5:30 for a meeting and it was just the husband and their 2 little girls home. The two girls were upstairs playing Wii. I thought nothing of it when she left us to go to the meeting. He's been home by himself before and has never been weird. Anyway, he sat down at the breakfast counter to chat with me while I cooked dinner. Again, no big deal. He has sat and talked with me before, even with the wife home. He poured himself a glass of wine, which he does a lot. He started talking about politics and got on the subject of marriage. He started talking about people in the media who have relations outside of their marriage and that its no ones business because maybe the husband wife have an "understanding" about it. He then went on to say that a spouse does not always meet all of your needs. He implied that his wife meets his financial needs, but not every other need. He told me that they started off as friends and didn't even really have interest in sex with each other at first and had trouble getting pregnant because of lack of sex. Anyway, he started on his second glass of wine and asked me to stay for dinner and have a glass of wine. I respectfully declined, and said that I had lots of homework to catch up for my courses and perhaps another time, I could stay for dinner with his "family." He also said that he would like to take me out sometime. Is it just me, or was he totally making a pass at me? I really need this job. My fiance is laid off and we NEED the money, but I feel so weirded out. Input?

  • Is a dessert wedding reception rude or tacky?

My df and I are strongly considering having a dessert wedding reception when we get married this coming July. We were just going to have cake and maybe some light snacks like fruit. My mom and sister both think its horribly tacky and don't want us to do that, but others, including my friend who's getting married this Jan, think its perfectly fine. I just went to my cousin's reception last weekend and they had just cake, fruit, pretzels and a chocolate fondue station. I saw nothing wrong with it. We were thinking about having the reception go from 7-midnight and noting on the invites that its a dessert reception so people know to eat dinner before coming. We're on a budget and really want to save money without paying tons of money for food. We will also be providing all the drinks (soda, water, alcohol). Honest opinions please!

  • What is causing my digestive problems?

I'll try to make this short. I had my Gallbladder removed 1 yr and 7 months ago and I'm still not normal. I got really sick before I got it out and it took them 2 months to figure out that my GB wasn't functioning anymore. I got it out on Jan 6th 2009. I was so sick before I got it out that I lost 12 lbs and could barely eat anything at all. Some days I would have no more than a few saltines and sips of water. Here I am nearly 2 yrs post-op and I'm still not right!!! I'm way better than I was, but something is still wrong. I'm able to eat again, but I suffer from several problems. I have constipation about 50% of the time and another 20% of the time its just irregular. I have bloating, abdominal pain above my belly button that sometimes radiates around to my back, my mouth will sometimes get watery, I will sometimes burp a lot, I'll feel sick to my stomach, and occasionally, I'll be downright nauseous and have to lay down and try not to get sick. I have an Endoscopy done before surgery as well as a Barium X-ray which were normal, I also had an ultrasound and a CT scan before surgery. I had a scan done after surgery as well to check and make sure no gallstones were blocking any bile ducts and I was found to be normal. I'm taking Priolsec every day in the morning as well. I've had tons of blood work done, both before and after surgery with no signs of anything wrong. I've been back to the Gastro Dr and my regular Dr a number of times after surgery and nothing can be found wrong. I'm having another Endoscopy on Tue to check my stomach again. Its so bad that its starting to greatly impact my life and normal activities. I can eat, but I can't eat whatever I want and I can't eat normal amounts like everyone else. Does anyone have any clue as to be what could be wrong other than GERD, a stomach ulcer, Celiac, Gallstones, Pancreatitis or being Lactose? All of those things have already been proven to not be the problem.

  • Can you help us pick a name for my fiance's company?

My fiance has been detailing cars for the past 6 yrs for car dealerships and wants to start up his own business now that he has tons of experience. He's trying to pick a company name but can't seem to find one he likes. We thought maybe some others would have some creative ideas. Here's some info to go off of. His name is Brandon, we live in Apple Valley MN, and its going to be a mobile detailing company for cars, trucks, vans, boats, RVs or whatever else. Can anyone think of anything catchy? He's going to get a tax ID number but has to have a company name picked first. Thanks!

  • Is there a such thing as a tie rod bracket?

So my neighbor's friend said he would fix my car. He looked at it and said it was the tie rod. Then he called me today and said its not the tie rod, but actually the little bracket that holds it in place. I just said okay, not knowing what he was talking about lol and he said he would fix it tonight after work. I went and called our local O'Reilly Auto Part store and asked them about it and they said there is no bracket for my tie rod. I don't want to bother the guy who's fixing it because he's working right now but I was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight on what he was talking about. I'm just wondering if this is going to be a more expensive fix or what to expect because I'm tight on money. The guy who's fixing it isn't a mechanic by profession, but is very skilled with cars and said he's completely confident that he can fix it. Any ideas? By the way, I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP.

  • Where can I find a solid neon hoodie?

I've seen 2 people lately wearing BRIGHT neon hoodies. They were both wearing neon yellow/green hoodies. I wasn't gonna go up and ask them where they got them lol, but I really want one. I've searched the internet and can't find anything like that anywhere and can't find any clothing dye to do it myself either. Please don't suggest American Apparel. They only have zip up hoodies and I want a pop over hoodie. Thanks!

  • What style of top has the v cut in the front?

I want to purchase a top that is the style where it shows some of the back and sides, but the front goes down into a v shape..almost as if you were to take a huge bandanna, fold it in half and tie it around like a tube top and have the v shape in front. Does anyone know where you can buy those or what they're called? Thanks!

  • Question about Food Assistance programs?

I've never been on FS before, but we might need to apply for them because my df was laid off recently and hasn't found work yet :( My question is..when they determine the amount you get, do they use your income from the month before, or two months before? For example, if we were to get approved for FS this month, would they look at May's income or April's? Thanks!

  • My uncle had a heart attack..questions?

My uncle John just had a heart attack yesterday around 3pm. My aunt found him on the bedroom floor not breathing and with no pulse. 911 came and were able to revive him. He did go several minutes without oxygen though. He is at the hospital and they have sedated him. They did an Angioplasty on him to clear his arteries. 2 of the 4 main arteries were blocked. One was 100% blocked and the other was 95% blocked. They brought this body temp way down and gave him meds to paralyze him so he can't shiver. He has not been conscious since the attack..but they are purposely sedating him at this point to preserve oxygen for his brain. My family is concerned about the lack of oxygen he had to his brain between the time my aunt found him and the time the paramedics were able to revive him. They shocked his heart twice before they were able to get a weak pulse. They are planning on warming him back up tonight. What are the chances of him surviving? How likely is it that he suffered permanent brain damage? Any prayers for him would be greatly appreciated as well!

  • What's the best way to go braless and still get support?

So summer is around the corner and I'd like to know the best way to get good support without having to wear a bra. I'm not talking about a strapless bra either. There are some shirts I want to get where its impossible to wear a bra. I'm not sure if double sided tape would be enough or not and i don't really know what else would work. I've heard there are adhesive bras but I need a bra where nothing has to connect in the middle because they are clubbing shirts where there's a really deep V in them. Thanks :)

  • Any other makeup as good as Bare Escentuals?

I've used Bare Escentuals for the past 2 years and I love it but I'm wondering if there's any other makeup very very similar to their's that's cheaper and easier to buy? I know Target and Walmart sell some knock off mineral makeups but are they really as good? I have rosey cheeks and the Bare Escentuals really covers well and looks really good so I don't want to go buy some other makeup and it turns out to not be nearly as good and I waste my money. Plus I'm sick of always driving to the mall, having to find a parking spot and going all the way in just to get their makeup. Target or Walmart would be much easier! Thanks!!!

Is it true that some people are receivers of strep throat and others are only carries..meaning they don't actually get sick with strep, they just carry it and pass it on? I've kissed him every day for the past week.

  • I keep having this gaggy sensation?

I'll try to keep this short. In November (so 5 months ago) I began getting nauseated and having upset stomachs. It got worse and worse to the point where I was in bed all day for days at a time not able to eat. Had tests run, found out my gallbladder wasn't functioning, had it removed on Jan 6th and I'm still not normal. The nausea is 80% better. Its much less frequent now and much less severe..its usually more of just an upset or slightly queasy stomach. I was also told I have a minor Hiatal Hernia along with some mild acid reflux. I started taking Prilosec 6 weeks ago and I take 40mg a day for the acid reflux. The thing that is really confusing me is this gaggy feeling I get. Sometimes my actual stomach will feel fine, but I get this gaggy sensation in my throat that feels as if I'm putting my finger down my throat. I'm not actually gagging, I just feel a slight gag sensation. I sometimes get a warm/burning sensation in my throat too. I really don't think its due to acid reflux because I'm on 40mg of Prilosec a day and the x-ray even showed the acid reflux was very minor and only when I was in a laying position. I also have been hauking up phlegm for the past 4 months. I have no cold at all. Its just phlem that I can feel in my throat and I have to cough it up and spit it out. Before November, I was TOTALLY normal. What is going on???
