  • What is the best workout plan for me?

I'm 17, 5'8", 160lbs, and I have been working out for a while now. I play football and want to gain weight/muscle. Just this semester I stopped taking the school weights class because I would have had to drop a class to take it and I want to continue to work out through the school year. I still do football weights in the summer but want to know if their workout structure is the best way to go.

In summer weights, we usually do a combination of bench/squat/clean/deadlift throughout the week and all of the variations of those lifts with a combination of aux lifts and stretches. And after we condition

I don't know if there is a plan I should follow but would like some suggestions.

    Thanks!

    Bench: 155

    Squat: 235

Deadlift: 290 (haven't maxed on this for a while)

    Power Clean: 165

  • What are some colleges I should consider?

So I am a sophomore living in Kansas. I have a 4.0, taking multiple Ap/College classes my junior and senior year, am involved in varsity football, baseball, scholars/quiz bowl, chess club, Student Council, am almost an Eagle Scout, Marching, Concert, and Jazz band.

My parents want me to narrow down my choices to a few colleges but I really don t care where I go. I want to go into Engineering but want to decide what part of Engineering in college. I would like them to have a good music program where I don t have to major in music, but I can still be a part of their bands/orchestras. It would be nice i I could study abroad or something.

So what are some colleges I could consider? Thanks!

  • My parents won't allow me to make a youtube channel.?

I'm a sophomore in high school and have had 2 previous youtube channels and was planning on making a third. It was going to be a political/conservative commentary channel (please don't make this a political debate). They are worried about the videos that I would be making be posted on their forever (I also cannot get a snapchat, Instagram, or Facebook for the same reasons) and that my views will change as I grow older. I told them that I understand both of these things and that it might actually be a benefit when applying for a job, but they really don't care. If you look at my other questions, there is another about controlling parents. Is there anything I can do to persuade them in any way that I could create this channel with my friend?

    Thanks

  • Should I get a chess coach. Am I improving fast enough?

I've been playing chess for longer than I remember (literally). Recently, I've been getting back into the game and actually studying and learning basic tactics. Since the beginning of August, I've improved from around 850 on chess.com to almost 1100 and still rising. Is 250 in 5 months good starting out? I haven't been practicing that much... I want to continue to get better and my question is: what should I do to continue to improve?

  • How much time should I spend practicing chess?

I'm ranked a little under 1000 on chess.com and I think 700 in local tournaments. I play chess everyday and it's fun playing and learning. If I could spend around 1 hour each day studying chess, how should I split the time from playing/learning/going over games etc. ?

    (I usually play rapid games)

    Thanks!

  • My parents are making me get my Eagle Scout. What should I do?

I'm 16 and really close to getting my Eagle (less than 3 badges to go and my project is almost in place). I want to get Eagle and I understand its importance, but my parents are making me do this. Not just like highly encouraging, but threatening me with 'consequences' like taking my car away (which they have done before) if I don't complete it fast enough or on the deadlines they set. I am pretty much in this or they will make it as miserable as possible until I complete it (I think my mom said something like that but I'm not entirely sure). I feel like I'm moving at a good pace for me especially in the last month or so but if I work any harder then what I just did becomes the new standard and that amount of work needs to get done in the future. I'm involved in a lot of activities including baseball, band, jazz band, chess club, Student Council, and more, and I really can't fit Boy Scouts as much as my parents would like me to. I guess my question is what should I do or say to my parents that I will complete Eagle and you don't need to get on me for going to slow?

    Thanks!

(Don't say it's my Eagle not theirs because they just say they have put time and money into this that can't be wasted.)
