My parents are making me get my Eagle Scout. What should I do?
I'm 16 and really close to getting my Eagle (less than 3 badges to go and my project is almost in place). I want to get Eagle and I understand its importance, but my parents are making me do this. Not just like highly encouraging, but threatening me with 'consequences' like taking my car away (which they have done before) if I don't complete it fast enough or on the deadlines they set. I am pretty much in this or they will make it as miserable as possible until I complete it (I think my mom said something like that but I'm not entirely sure). I feel like I'm moving at a good pace for me especially in the last month or so but if I work any harder then what I just did becomes the new standard and that amount of work needs to get done in the future. I'm involved in a lot of activities including baseball, band, jazz band, chess club, Student Council, and more, and I really can't fit Boy Scouts as much as my parents would like me to. I guess my question is what should I do or say to my parents that I will complete Eagle and you don't need to get on me for going to slow?
Thanks!
(Don't say it's my Eagle not theirs because they just say they have put time and money into this that can't be wasted.)

If you honor your mother and father they'll make your life a very happy and successful one. If you do not honor your mother and father they can make your life miserable. It does sound like you have a lot on your plate. Perhaps you could work on your negotiating skills and reach a compromise with Mom and Dad. You just need to hang in there another couple of years and perhaps you'll be off to college and more in charge of your own life.
