  • How do torrent seeders get those movies that are not even yet released in blu-ray/dvd?

I'm just very curious. very super curious : /

I mean I can differentiate between an original copy and a copy that is created from filming the cinema screen with an HD handycam.

    Let's have an example...

I wanted to download The Social Network (it's legal in my country to download foreign movies :p)

The release date on blu-ray/dvd is January 11 2011

But I'm just curious, so with torrent, I chose the most popular seeder and download from it (before Jan 11).

I was expecting a dumb recorded cinema screen copy, but it turned out that it really is the real thing.

I mean like the movie is in real HD.

As far as my understanding, no theater in the whole world uses an HD projector, with its film not watermarked.

Does anybody know where 'they' got the movie copy?

    Thanks : )

  • Can I use dynamic mics for homemade boom mic /w pole?

I'm opening some sort of movie club at my school and it is truly sucks to use the built-in camera microphone.

But my camera have an input for external microphone and I was thinking of using those microphones like the ones that professional doods uses; boom mic /w pole.

I'm not sure to what kind of microphone are they using because they always cover the boom mic with some sort of furry wind screen.

    Can I use dynamic microphones?

Or should I use condensers? But the thing is I wanna keep the budget low and at the same time, keeping things simple.

  • Does anybody know why Acer discontinued their Travelmate 8200?

Acer is pretty good in keeping their company's secrets.

I'm just curious because 2 or 3 years ago when I bought this, two or three months later the sales guy in the store said that they're doing a clearing sale on Travelmate 8200 because Acer stopped producing that series.

  • Why do muslims have to read the quran with melodies?

You'll know what I'm talking about if you're a good Muslim and read the Quran.

I just don't get it, why do we have to read it with melodies? Try to imagine that you're a Saudi guy and you speak arabic. It's like reading your language in melodies.

second question: why do most muslims (especially in my country indonesia) own Qurans that doesn't have translations in it? I seriously always argue this with my mom. I'm indonesian and I dont understand arabic. Like Bible (Christian), the bible is the manual to live our lifes. same with qurans right? what's the point of reading the quran if I don't understand the text. Why can't i just read the translation itself instead of reading them both?

  • Why can't we use photons (light) as propulsion?

    This just crossed my mind.

For example like steam pump cleaners, when we shoot a 100km/h steam to air, the steam would propel us slightly right, because those water particle collide with the stuff in its surrounding right.

Like torches or lasers that emit holy crap speedy photons to a surrounding full of photon, why can't they propel? I mean like an ordinary $1 torch can shoot out billions of photons at an astonishing speed.

    Thanks.

  • My Acer continuously beeps and freezes on boot?

I have a 3 years old Acer Travelmate 8200; found out that the model is discontinued since year 2009 (suspicious indeed).

I encountered this problem before on march 2009. the problem starts with some symptoms of hardware failure, which i just realized now. When I pressed the numericals, it suddenly quits the window/application. Now I just realized that the hardware interpreted it as if I pressed the esc key.

My point: I think my laptop has this problem so called 'sticky esc'. When the problem reaches its climax, when i boot my laptop, right at the acer logo, it beeps like a smoke detector, enough to trigger neighbor's seizures -.-

Im not sure about any morse codes because it just beeps like crazy without any significant pattern.

So at first, i tried to solve the problem by entering the bios setup before it beeps. but it turned out that i cant; after I 'exit without saving changes', it restarts itself.

Then I tried plugging off the ac power and the battery power, and hold the power button for 10 seconds, hoping to refresh the cmos-es. But it did not work too.

I already tried blowing the ram. it doesnt solve the problem.

    Please any suggestions?

Because last time I brought it to acer service center and they changed the ram but it did not solve the problem (i supervised the technician fixing my laptop, they requested me to open a new ram, and i did. they change the ram, and problem still unsolved. then i believe after several random tweaks, the problem fixed. I asked the technician and he himself were unsure about what he did that fixes the problem)

    thanks.

  • Why do consumer car manufacturers create 200km/h engines whereas speed limit limit speeds max 110km/h?

I'm just wondering if the speed limit let's say 90km/h, assuming 90km/h is universal; applied in all countries, then why do they manufacture cars that are capable of running 180km/h or even more?
