Private student loan refinance?
I only have one private student loan that I want to refinance in order to release my co-signer and just have my name on the loan. I don't qualify for Sallie Mae's co-signer release program yet because they require 12 months of principal and interest payments and I only began paying back principal last month. I want to do this because of a divorce to release my wife's name. The current private loan has a 13k balance, I've never been late, and I have 770 credit score.
From doing some research, it looks like I can't really do anything because I don't have more than one loan to consolidate. Do I have any other options?

1 AnswerFinancial Aid9 years agoWhere's my tax refund?
I used TurboTax and their website says we should have had our refund by 2/25. When I use the "where's my refund" tool on the IRS' website, it says we should have our money by March 1st (today). I checked my Chase account and there's no deposit or pending deposit. TurboTax says the IRS only sends refunds on Friday's, so why does the IRS' website say we should have our money today, a Tuesday?
Should I be worried? When will we get the money?
4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoWhere should we live in Phoenix, Arizona?
My husband and I are moving to Phoenix in April because he's going to go to UTI in Avondale. I work in financial services and haven't nailed down a job yet, so I'm not sure what part of town I'll be working in. My question is what part of town should we look for a house to rent? I think being in a central location would be nice since I don't know where I'll be working, but not too far from his school in Avondale. We are both 26 with no kids, so I don't care about schools. We want a nice place, hopefully for less than $900 a month. We'd also love to be near shopping, restaurants, and parks.
Let me know your opinion of what part of town to live in and WHY! Thank you!!!
2 AnswersPhoenix1 decade agoCan husband and wife both join the navy?
My husband and I both want to join the Navy as officers. We both have college degrees and want to join and go to OCS. My question is will they let us both join?
I also heard that there's a law that they can't station us more than 50 miles from each other, right? I want to make sure that we won't be too far apart. It would be great to be on the same ship.
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoShould I trade my car for the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I currently drive an 04 Dodge Stratus R/T. I racked up the miles commuting for my job so it has 92,400 miles. I owe $9,600 on the car, and it's average blue book value is $4,400. My current car payment is $258 a month and the loan won't mature until May of 2012. Needless to say, I'm way underwater on the car, but I do have GAP insurance that would pay it off if something were to happen.
Jeep is offering crazy cash incentives right now on their remaining 2008 models. These include $5,500 cash, plus $2,000 cash bonus, PLUS an extra $2,000 bonus cash. These incentives have my attention because they would dig me out of the hole I'm in.
Went to the dealer last night and ran the numbers. They offered $6,500 for my car (which I couldn't believe), plus all the cash incentives above. The jeep's sales price would end up being $19,600 I believe. The monthly payment will be $386 at 5.9% (my current loan's rate is 8.3%). That's a higher payment than I'd like, but I can swing it. 72 months. I put $650 down.
So my question is should I do it? I'll have a brand new safer car and be rid of my current problem, but I guess I'm just hesitant. I'm afraid I will be left with a dinosaur in a few years.

5 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoPlumbing question - Hissing sound coming from water pipes?
I just bought a house that has been sitting empty for a few months. I had the water turned on today and when I turned on the "master" valves in my utility room, I noticed a hissing sound coming from the laundry closet. I think that means there is water running somewhere because the usage meter is slowly spinning around when no sinks or anything in use. The sound is kind-of loud. I checked back a few hours later and looked everywhere for leaks, including the outside fixtures, but I didn't see any. No moisture to be found. I don't know what else to do! I ended up shutting the water back off, just to make sure I don't flood the place.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat dimensions should I make a blanket for 2 people to cuddle up on a couch together?
I want to knit a blanket for my boyfriend that is a comfortable size for us both to be covered comfortably when we lay together on the couch. What should I make the length and width?
I was initially thinking 5 feet wide by 6 feet long, but according to my calculations that will take 17 skiens of super bulky yarn!!!
What do you think? How big should I make it?
Note: we are both average size people and he's 5'10.
5 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWill getting my 3 year old dog spade stop her aggression toward the other household dogs?
My Boston terrier and I lived alone for the first 1.5 years. Now we live with my parents, who have another Boston (they're half-sisters) and a boxer. My Boston is not fixed, while the other dogs, both girls, are fixed. My dog has been growing more and more territorial over me and my mom and also toys and treats. It's getting to where she attacks the other Boston viciously, but they've never drawn blood. I'm worried about this behavior and the aggression is getting worse. I don't know how to stop it.
Is she so aggressive because she isn't fixed? That's what my mom thinks and she wants me to get her spade.
I'm worried about having the procedure done to her at this age, since she's not a puppy. Since she's already learned this behavior, will getting her spade stop it, or will she just continue to do it after she's fixed?
What should I do?
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhy won't my pictures transfer to my computer?
I have done it before. All I usually do is plug in the USB cable to both, turn on the camera, and the wizard guides me through it. For some reason today I can't get it to work. I know the computer recognizes the plugs, because it gives me a "safely remove hardware" icon.
Any ideas?
