  • Civil War question?

The Civil War has been called the "War Between the States" and the "War for Southern Independence." Out of these 3, which do you find the most appropriate?

I personally think that "Civil War" would be the most appropriate, but I can also see how it could be called the "War Between the States." What do you think?

  • Powers-Granted vs Denied?

I need to know if congress is given the power to pass these laws and I need to know what article and section states this. I looked at the constitution but I am unsure.

I think this is granted to them but idk what states it.“Whoever transports in interstate or foreign commerce a motor vehicle or aircraft, knowing the same to have been stolen, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both…”

“Every person who has made any contract or engaged in any combination or conspiracy hereby declared to be illegal shall be deemed guilty of a felony…” I think this is no..

“Copyright protection subsists, in accordance with this title, in original works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression, now known or later developed, from which they can be perceived, reproduced, or otherwise communicated, either directly or with the aid of a machine or device…”

"A person who is a national of the United States whether by birth or naturalization, shall lose his nationality by voluntarily performing any of the following acts with the intention of relinquishing United States nationality - (1) obtaining naturalization in a foreign state upon his own application or upon an application filed by a duly authorized agent, after having attained the age of eighteen years; or (2) taking an oath or making an affirmation or other formal declaration of allegiance to a foreign state or a political subdivision thereof, after having attained the age of eighteen years..

  • changing to Popular Election!!! 10 points for the best answer. please read!?

So, the question is, what is the effect the change (going from the Electoral College to Direct Popular Vote) will have on political parties.

I said that political parties would have to travel more and win more states, it could affect how they nominate candidates, and it could destroy the two-party system and encourage the formation of a host of splinter parties. Is this right? Do you know of an example I could use?

The effect the change will have on presidential campaigning? I have some answers and an example for it, but I'm still unsure.

Then, institutions that would benefit from a direct popular election. I have that the smaller states and the Republicans would benefit. I need an example.

    Thank You!
