  • Gauge of wire make any difference when connecting powered sub to receiver ?

    Hi, I just bought a powered sub and was wondering if the gauge of a single RCA audio cable makes any difference when not delivering power to the sub woofer.

    Its my understanding that a thicker gauge wire will only make a difference when delivering power to your speakers and since the amplifier is built in to the sub the wire won't be sending any power between the sub and receiver.

    Right now I have a 7.2m cable with 24 gauge wire. Should I consider a thicker cable?
