  • How are you dealing with annoying (although well-meaning) "Have you had that baby yet?!?!?" calls?

I'm 40 weeks + 2 days and am on the brink of insanity with the daily calls and emails and text messages from people asking "Have you had that baby yet?" "Soooo...baby????" and "Anything?????" I know it's well intended, but it's extremely annoying. Anyone have any polite, but effective, ways of stopping these inquiries?

  • 20 weeks pregnant, 11cm complex ovarian cyst?

Hi there - I am 20 weeks pregnant and an 11cm cyst was found on my left ovary at my 11 week scan, and was still present and unchanged at 19 weeks. The report said it appears to be a complex cyst with septations with normal ovarian tissue on the side. My OBGYN is repeating the u/s in one week, and has sent me for CA125. I have a history of simple cysts that have always dissolved on their own. Never this size though, and never complex. I am terrified that this is a malignant process. Does anyone have any similar experience to share?

  • 19 weeks pregnant ultrasound?

I had my 19 week u/s last week and the u/s tech scared me like crazy. First she said I was tiny when she looked at my belly, then as she was looking at the images, she asked if I'd had an u/s with this pregnancy before, and if I had done prenatal screening. Why the heck would she ask that? She then went on to tell me she couldn't find the heart. When that reduced me to tears, she softened up and said that she meant the spine was in the way of a good view, but it was indeed there and beating, she just needed me to move around. Ugh. I'm really freaked out about her line of questions though. Can anyone shed any light on why she might have inquired about previous ultrasound and whether or not I did screening tests?
