  • Does this verse prove the bible is not inerrant and infallible?

Psalm 14:1 - The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (KJV)

This can be easily shown to be false. Let's take someone like Stephen Hawking. He's possibly the most intelligent man in the world, so he's certainly no fool. Can you think of anything abominable he's done? All I know is he's done a great deal to advance science and physics; especially the study of black holes.

Therefore, the bible is not infallible and it's not inerrant.

  • New Atheist group in North Derbyshire, UK. Interested?

I'm just looking at interest in starting it. If anyone's interested, please pop over to https://www.facebook.com/AtheistsOfNorthDerbyshire . Thanks!

    Page text:

This is a forthcoming group, hopefully to open in North Derbyshire for interested Atheists, Humanists, Freethinkers, Pastafarians and anyone else. We hope to have regular meetings, presentations and guest speakers, but we are just getting set up at this stage.

Thank you for your interest in this project, and I'll try to keep everyone updated on progress! Any fundraising I do as a necessity for group activities will be strictly monitored and full records will be kept.

Fundraising will be used to pay for venue hire, guest speaker and equipment booking, video and course material and potential lawsuits, although this will not come until later on - in fact, we hope never to have to bring a suit, but we're intensely disappointed with the UK Government pushing Faith Schools and we feel we really need to stand up for more Church & State separation. I'm sure it's no coincidence they encouraged religious responses in the 2011 Census - they clearly had an agenda.

  • Believe in preventing all prosetylizing from everyone in schools?

There's a White House petition that may well help. Teach comparative religions at an early age, including five major world religions and a secular viewpoint, and teach every one as a belief - not proven fact - and emphasize it's completely up to the student to decide what to believe based on the evidence. Preaching specifically banned.
