  • Christians what does this mean to you?

    Darby Translation

    Ezekiel 33:1-19

    And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

    Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them all, and set him for their watchman:

    if he see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

    then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

    He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood is upon him: whereas had he taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

    But if the watchman see the sword coming, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, if the sword come and take a person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

    So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; and thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, Wicked [man], thou shalt certainly die; and thou speakest not to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

    But if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

    And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel, Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away in them, how then should we live?

    Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

    And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.

    When I say to the righteous that he shall certainly live, and he trusteth to his righteousness and doeth what is wrong, none of his righteous acts shall be remembered; but in his unrighteousness which he hath done, in it shall he die.

    And when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die, and he turneth from his sin, and doeth judgment and justice;

    if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, doing nothing that is wrong; he shall certainly live, he shall not die.

    None of his sins which he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done judgment and justice; he shall certainly live.

    Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

    When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and doeth what is wrong, then he shall die therein.

    And when the wicked turneth from his wickedness, and doeth judgment and justice, he shall live for these things.

    So you know the truth that the wicked will be destroyed yet you do not tell them! how you feel about knowing that they may die when you could help them?

    Matthew 10:7 NIV

    As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'

    Matthew 28:19-20 (Darby Translation)

    Go [therefore] and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;

    teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, *I* am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.

  • so believers of God go to heaven when they die?

    Lazarus story

    John 11:11-14 (New International Version)

    After he had said this, he went on to tell them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up."

    His disciples replied, "Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better." Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.

    So then he told them plainly, "Lazarus is dead,

    John 11:17-45 (New International Version)

    On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Bethany was less than two miles[a] from Jerusalem, and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.

    "Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."

    Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

    Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

    "Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ,[b] the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

    And after she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. "The Teacher is here," she said, "and is asking for you." When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.

    When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34"Where have you laid him?" he asked.

    "Come and see, Lord," they replied.

    Jesus wept.

    Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

    But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?"

    Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. "Take away the stone," he said.

    "But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days."

    Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"

    So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me."

    When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

    Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."

    So lazarus was a follower of Jesus.... I assume he'd have gone to heaven being that he was faithful.... so why would Jesus cry instead of being happy that he went to heaven.... why would he bring him back to earth to suffer sickness and all that if he was better off in heaven?

    Why did Larazus gave no account of this heaven?

    he was married and priests and popes do not marry

    Timothy 4:1-5 (King James Version)

    Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and DOCTRINES OF DEVILS;

    Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

    FORBIDDING TO MARRY, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

    For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

    For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

  • why do pastors and priests do not work?

    when the bible says this

    2 Thessalonians 3:8 NIV

    nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you.

    2 Thessalonians 3:10 NIV

    For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

    is that acceptable? are they following God's standards?
