  • How do you password protect folders on an external harddrive?

We have a laptop and had separate user accounts for Window's Vista but it was taking up too much memory and was getting a bit annoying to have to switch over to another user account every time we wanted to use the computer. We got an external hard drive and want to have everything on one user account but would like to password protect our own folders. Everything I've found for Vista either involves the separate user account or encryption, which we aren't advanced enough to do. IS there a way to password protect our folders? If so HOW?

  • How much would you pay for a hand knitted blanket?

I'm a stay at home mom and would like to make a little extra money on the side. I'm a good knitter and was wondering just how much people would pay for a hand knitted blanket on Etsy? I've already checked out Etsy and I've seen that blankets could run anywhere from $20 to $80 but I can't tell how many sales they get. So I want to know your opinion. Just how much are you willing to pay for a hand knitted blanket?

  • If a child is going through interstate foster care and gets arrested, can they still leave the state?

I'm currently going through Foster Care in Idaho to get my 17 year old sister from California. She was staying in a group home but ran away about two weeks ago. I talked to her social worker and she said my sister has a warrant out on her. My sister sent me a e-mail to let me know she was okay. She said she still wanted to live with us, but everyone keeps telling me that she won't be able to now. She'll be 18 in September. I've been trying to get a hold of her social worker all week but all my calls are unanswered and not returned. I was just wondering if my sister would still be able to come live with us through foster care if she were to get arrested.

  • Do I need to upload my Sims expansion packs in any order?

I know someone already asked this question and the answer seemed to be "no." But this doesn't seem to be the case for me. Last year I only had the basic Sims 2 game. Then I bought Teen Style Stuff, then Nightlife. But I found that I couldn't play the game anymore. With some tinkering I discovered that the only way to play the game was if I uninstalled TSS and reinstalled it AFTER Nightlife. I've recently acquired more games and have found that I can't play with TSS again. So instead of trying to figure out which order I'm supposed to install it in, I decided to just uninstall it completely. And just so everyone is aware, I had a different computer last year, and am having the same problem on my new one.

  • Will my baby have nipple confusion if I switch to pumping for a few days?

At the hospital they told me my son was latched on correctly. Though my nipples were a little sore from the first few times I tried. They'd only stay sore when my son first latched on, but as soon as he got going, no pain. Now though, they have cracked and sometimes bleed a tiny bit. The pain of him latching on is so painful I cry most of the times. I'm getting to the point where I can't handle it anymore. I've tried contacting my lactation consultant but they still haven't gotten back to me. It's getting worse and I can barely handle it. My son is only a week old and I'm afraid that if I pump bottles for him for even a few days to let my nipples heal, that he'll have nipple confusion and won't breastfeed anymore. I don't want that, as I want to continue breastfeeding. But I can't stand the pain anymore and my stupid *** consultant doesn't think it's necessary to get back to me anytime soon. I would be fine just pumping if he did have nipple confusion. But I can only afford a crappy hand pump and I'm afraid I won't get proper stimulation. I'm absolutely dreading his next feeding, and I'm so tempted to give him formula so I can take a break.

  • How do I get my newborn to sleep to the next feeding?

Now that I've finally discovered how to get him to bed without freaking out, he decides he can't sleep a full two hours to the next feeding time. Everyday he usually falls asleep right after I feed him, and usually stays asleep until it's time to eat again. But at night when I put him to bed he only stays asleep for 5 to 10 minutes. No exaggeration. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm not worried about him sleeping through the night yet. I'm well aware that won't happen for a while. I just want to be able to sleep a bit between feedings. What do I do? I don't have anyone to call, and the internet isn't shelling out much. Every time I type in newborn sleep, I get information on how to get a 3 month old to sleep. My baby's only 6 days old.

  • Why does my computer randomly open up multiple browsers?

Every once and a while when I close a tab on internet explorer, my computer will randomly start opening up a bazillion browsers. I have to shut off my computer because they're coming up so fast that I can't stop them. I usually lose anything that I'm doing. The reason I'm asking is because I've never been doing the same thing when this happens. It's always just completely random, and I want to know why my computer does this.

    Thanks

Also, if you know how to make it stop, please tell me. :D

  • How can I tell my dad to stop being a jerk without hurting his feelings?

I hate when people post their family problems on Y!A but I'm really at a loss for what to do. My husband and I are expecting our first baby in a month. During my entire pregnancy my dad has acted like my husband isn't the baby's father. Like he's just some guy I hang out with. He makes plans about the baby without my husband there, invites his friends to our baby shower without permission. And at one time he actually told me that his wife (not my mother) BETTER be in the room with me when I have the baby. With this one, he actually told her I said it was okay. So she was excited and told everyone. And I had to be the bad guy and tell her I didn't want her there. Because of my a**hole dad. I'm not really sure what to do, because every time I try to say something to him, he gets angry and dramatic. Actually right now he's not speaking with me because I told him I didn't want him to smoke in front of me when I come over (he goes to the kitchen and sprays Febreeze. Like it makes a difference) I love my dad, despite what a jerk he is. And I don't want to hurt his feelings. I tried talking to my grandmother for help, thinking she'd support me. I was wrong. She just defended him. "Well he doesn't know any better." Yes, he does. He's a grown man. Stop sticking up for him already. Argh... So what I'm asking is if anyone can tell me some "nicer" ways I can tell my dad to back off without him freaking out and not speaking to me, my husband, or my son for the next 6 months.

  • What causes an animal to regect it's young?

I was watching videos on Myspace's video channel U-Zoo. And I noticed they kept saying "This baby leopard was rejected by his mother." "This baby tiger was rejected by his mother." So I was wondering what caused a animal to reject her young?

  • How do you use the rotate tool in Adobe Illustrator?

All I'm trying to do is rotate the freaking picture 90 degrees but every time I do it, nothing happens. I've looked up tutorials but they keep telling me crap like "We'll start by making a grid." I don't need to make a damn grid, I'm just trying to get the picture right side up. My husband was able to do it earlier, but he can't remember what he did exactly, and now he can't seem to do it either. I freaking hate illustrator and I've only been using it for an hour... (mumbles) stupid piece of crap.

  • Can our questions on Y!A be monitered by our landlords?

We get wireless internet through our apartment building (legally). Our managers are Mormons, which is fine. But we noticed that every single time my husband posts a answer or a question about Mormons on Y!A we get a error message. Code 999 I think. Which says it has something to do with spyware. EVERY SINGLE TIME. We don't have a spyware blocker on our computer anymore since it expired. And this has never happened any other time. It only happens when the subject includes Mormons. Honestly I'm not even sure if this will post. So I'm just wondering if it's possible for our managers to block us from posting/finding any information on a particular subject?

  • Questions about sending items to France?

I sell jewelry online. I just got a request for one of my pieces from France. My question is wither or not French customs will allow my item. It's a handmade polymer clay bead, painted with acrylics and finished with a gloss. It's also attached to a leather neck cord with silver lobster clasps?

I'm trying to look it up online but I'm not getting very far.

  • Would my sister be able to come live with us if...?

My little sister is 16 and lives in California. She had some problems a few years back and was taken from my mother. She's currently living with my grandparents who are still in the process of adopting her. I just found out that she ran away from home. She won't tell anyone where she is. The only thing she says is that she wants to live with me and my husband. We would both be more than willing to have her come live with us. And we'd be able to support her fully. And my grandparents wouldn't mind. But we live in another state. Would she be able to come live with us even though she belongs to the state of California? Would she need to be emancipated? Would she even qualify for emancipation if she legally doesn't belong to anyone? What would we need to do to be able to have her come live with us?

  • Okay, here is one directed towards everyone.?

Why is it that when I ask a question, instead of getting a honest answer I get people over examining the illustrations I used? "Well I'm a guy and I know stuff about pregnancy." That's not what I ******* meant! Just answer the damned question! My only question is why do people feel the need to over examine every little detail instead of just going ahead and answering the question. This happens to every question I post and every question my husband posts.

And people. Why is it that you ask questions in your answers but don't allow e-mails? How am I supposed to tell you, if I can't get ahold of you? I can't follow up on every single answer. Please just answer my question!

PS. The question here, is why? Why do people do this? Since it seems to be so hard for people to see the real question in the rant.

Thank you for your time. :D (<- angry smile)

  • Atheists, answer a question for me?

Why do you think it's necessary for you to answer questions that are specifically directed towards Christians. Which is obviously something that does not apply to you.

That's like a woman posting a question about her period, and a regular man coming along and answering. Like he knows more about a period than we women do.

The same with a man answering a question a woman asks about what it feels like when your child moves inside of you.

These questions are not for you. Why do you answer them anyway. As if answering their questions with answers like "God is a lie" and "Don't believe any of it" is really going to solve the question we are asking.

  • Why do people give thumbs down for good answers?

I bash the Jonas Brothers and I get thumbs up. But then I answer a question someone is asking about their car, which is in the current state mine is. I tell them what we did in that same situation, and I get a thumbs down. It wasn't even biased at all. Wtf? I always get them when I give honest answers. Why do people do this? Are they just stupid?

  • What kind of electronics are you most likely to buy online?

My husband and I are starting a internet business online selling electronics. Before we make any big purchases, I wanted to know what are the most commonly bought electronics online. I wanted to hear from the customers as well as other companies. If you could please let me know what you'd buy that'd be great. :D
