  • If you were an insurance company?

Suppose the health care reform will pass. Would you drop coverage on all of your high risk patients?

Once a patient requires more money in care than you collect in premium it no long is insurance, it is requiring others to pay for thier bills. You have to raise the premiums of others to cover that cost. By keeping only low or moderate risk policy holders you can lower costs to compete with other options and at the same time generate more profit.

The government will be paying for the high risk and people unable to afford coverage.

  • What do you think of the "ear marks" added to HR 3200?

This bill is supposed to be about health insurance reform, but it is filled with absolute garbage such as:

Pages 59 and 195, of the healthcare bill, which make it possible for the federal government to have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer and all personal records.

Why is this not all over the media? Why is it even in here?

  • Is health care a right or a privilege?

Is quality and affordable health care a right or a privilege? What is your take? Please support with evidence / argument.

I suggest it is a privilege. Health care is expensive and rightfully so. Considering so many Americans have self inflicted medical conditions, ie obesity leading to heart disease / diabetes or smoking leading to lung cancer (two of the largest causes of disease), why should anyone be obligated to spend one dime on their health, when they obviously do not care about it themselves.

  • Will USC football get off clean for violations?

USC basketball coach Tim Floyd has just resigned (likely forced out) following his allegations of paying players, which reignited the talk about USC football / Reggie Bush incident.

Now that Tim Floyd is the pariah, will Pete Carroll's golden boys slide by while the basketball team gets burnt?

  • Does anyone find this to be ridiculous?

    http://health.yahoo.com/news/healthday/usflunksont...

I think this report is outrageous and presumptuous. The taxes on tobacco are already to high, and it is no place of the government to protect its citizens from themselves and their own personal habits. I don't smoke, and I prefer smoke free environments but it is not my right to define what you can or can not do.

Lets tax fast food and soda to cut down on the 'preventable' disease due to obesity. An obese person is more disgusting than smoking.

  • Who agree's with Title IX?

I think the idea of Title IX is good but its implement is hugely flawed.

I think it should be rewriten to exclude men's basketball and football because of the exorbinant amounts of money involved. Both sports bring in large revenue from the gate, concessions, merchandise, and private boosters that other sports have an almost impossible time matching. Then they turn around and give half of it away to womens sports. Sports that for most teams at most colleges actually lose money.

Why should these teams generating revenue be forced to share it? Why shouldnt women's sports generate thier own money?

  • Why do women use child birth as justification for anything?

For example: Men have it easier because they dont have to go through childbirth.

I notice a lot of this attitude and Id like to know why that is acceptable justification for anything for a couple of reasons:

    1. Women's bodies are adapted for childbirth. You are anatomically prepared for it, its not like men just decided we didnt want the responsibility.

    2. The most painful experience in life is being born! Giving birth you have soft tissue injuries, but when you are born your bones bend and your head is crushed. So I have experienced more pain than giving birth.

    3. Nobody forces you to birth a child. When you decide you want a child, you also agree to deal with everything else that comes with it.

For the stated reasons, I find it ridiculous that giving birth be justification in any intergender discussions.

  • Can Dale Jr. fit in at Hendrick Motorsports where he will be a third driver?

If Dale Jr decides to become a member of the Hendrick Motorsports team will he be able to respond to being the 3rd best driver on the team driver behind Gordon and Johnson, after being used to being top dog at DEI?

Also, what will Jr fans, who notoriously cant stand Gordon, do if they end up on the same team?
