I'm an ass. Also, I don't care how you feel. Except when I do. But I don't.

  • I keep reading that red states...?

take more public money then blue states. With California being sited as one of the states that pays more than it gets back.

Take a look at this voted map from 2012... http://www.politico.com/2012-election/results/pres...

Please note that with the exception of the coastal cities (who bring in tourism money) and hollywood... the produces of wealth are in the less populated but larger geographical areas... this includes fruits and produce - all types of farming - logging industry and wine industry. All net exporters of products.

So sure, it's a blue state... because the the cities have more of the population... why then do the red areas produce more than 70% of the states income? Doesn't this strongly imply that the path to prosperity is actually to be found in the more rural areas where farming, mining, logging and production of export products drive the states economy?

Doesn't this strongly imply that the reason 'red states' take more money is because they have less rural areas in which to produce real goods and services? Doesn't it basically just come down to land mass... with the masses profiting from the work of the few?

  • Do you think it's fair to call Obama the 'low information president' ?

I've heard this term a couple of times from various right wing pundits...

Please give the reasons for your answers.

  • In light of this, recently posted hate-fest...?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylc=X3oDM...

I'd like to take a poll - what are your spiritual views and political views.

Bonus Points if you can back up one of the poster's claims with some evidence.

  • I'm having a crisis of un-faith...?

Recently, a few things have happened to me... that has gotten me thinking about the christian life I've left behind.

4 times recently, I've been asked by people I respect, how I'm doing in my walk. I'm trying to decide if I should take the hint and recommit...

If I make this choice, I won't ever be returning to my atheistic ways. This time I'll make it with my eyes open, knowing what it means.

I welcome any and all advice, but please be civil.

Also, I would like to hear from christians on what exactly the price of their faith has been (send me a private msg, no need to post such personal information here).

  • If you had to choose...?

between an eternity of servitude to a master you hadn't ever seen and didn't fully understand or an eternity of ridicule by those who chose to serve.

Which would you choose and why?

  • So I've been thinking...?

That the quickest way to bring someone out of their irrational faith is to start directing them to read the bible. I mean the sooner we get them to study it the sooner they'll figure it out.

Now Atheists and Christians can have a common goal, promote bible study!

  • A Simple question about duality.?

So here's the idea, if you take a muslim and a christian... Both are active in their churches, pray daily, and feel like they have a relationship with god.

Both are experiencing the same type of feelings about their religion.

Yet, the religions both say their god is the only one real one... so they hate each other (in the historical - middle east sense of it).

How would one make an objective choice about which one was worshiping god and which one wasn't? What if both religions worship the same god?

  • So, I keep seeing people talking about hell...?

and I'm sick of it. Why can't the current generation of christians read their own holy book?

Let me lay it out for you:

Hell exists only as a real place in the middle east. The greek words (limne pur) translated as 'lake of fire' in revelation is what the greeks called the Valley of Hinnom. It is a place south of Jerusalem where the bodies of dead animals and rubbish were taken to be burned.

It is not, eternal fire and punishment for sinners. Nor is it going to be used to burn anyone to death. It is simply the disposal place for all the bodies of the sinners after the last battle (at the end of the 1000 year reign).

  • So the bible is the word of god? (and true)?

Then if I can disprove some part of it that would invalidate the divine origin of the entire thing?

Let me see... ok here we go, Psalm 14:1

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is not one who does good.

I'm living proof that this is false, I'm an atheist and I make a point of doing good every single day.

I think I may have just proven the bible isn't the word of god.
