Egg Drop Experiment Real World?
I am doing the classic experiment for Physical science in which we design a "vehicle" or container to drop off of a six story building to ensure that our container protects an egg from breaking.
I have designed and tested my experiment, and I'm asking for help with one part. Does my design use the same concept as an air bag in a car?
My design is a small, sturdy box. I placed saran wrap over the box and placed the egg on top, letting it sit suspended in the center of the box in order to keep it from hitting the bottom of the box. I secured the edges of the wrap to the edges of the box, then placed and secured another sheet of saran wrap in order to keep the egg from hitting the top and sides of the box. I dropped it and tested it a few times and it worked.
So does this design mimick an air bag, or am I mistaken? As in, the air between the egg and the box absorbs the force before it reaches the egg, like an air bag between the person and the dashboard of the car absorbs the shock before the person hits the board?
Thanks (:

salt solutions of 60% and 15% are mixed to produce a 450cm^3 of a 25% solution. How much of each solution is required?
If I let x= the 60% solution and y= the 15% solution,
I ended up with x=325, and y= 125
Is this correct?
1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoSo, does he actually like me?
I really like this boy in my classes.
He sits next to me in most of them,
and for the past few days, he's been asking me who I like and complimenting my looks. But he hasnt told me why he wants to know who I like, nor has he told me he likes me.
Should I tell him I like him?
Should I ask him who he likes?

12 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoweird...stuff in my hair.?
After I dyed my hair, I've been seeing little white dots all over, and they won't come out!
My cousin had head lice this summer, and I'm scared I caught it, but my mom doesn't think I have it, and no one else who has been in contact with my cousin has gotten lice.
But there's no itchiness, it doesn't come out, and it hasn't appeared until after i dyed my hair.
any Idea what it is?
Thank you.

Yesterday, I dyed my hair, and i rinsed it out completely(The water ran clear for about 5 minutes before i conditioned it). However, when I went to shower tonight, my hair rinsed out pinkish water for a short while. Once I dried my hair, it looks the same. Is it normal for dye to rinse out on the first few washes? thanks.
2 AnswersHair1 decade agowhat did Aberforth do to his goats?!?
"My own brother, Aberforth, was prosecuted for practicing inappropriate charms on a goat. It was all over the papers, but did Aberforth hide? No, he did not! He held his head high, and went about his business as usual! Of course, I'm not entirely sure he can read, so that may not have been bravery..."

3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoA little help with Physics homework?
I have summer homework for my 9th grade Physics class. I did this whole science experiment wrong, and i just tried to redo it. See, what I have to do is pour 300mL of water, vegetable oil, and white vinegar into three glasses, and place a pencil in each glass at the same angle. Then I used a protractor to measure the angle of refraction for each liquid. Do these results appear to be accurate?
water bent --7.5 degrees,
white vinegar --9 degrees
vegetable oil- -14 degrees
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoCan I measure refraction of light in centimeters?
in this science experiment, It said to measure the angle of refraction with a metric ruler...I measured the refraction of light though water, white vinegar and vegetable oil.
do these results sound accurate?
Water- 0.5 centimeters
Veg. Oil- 1 cm.
