My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I need some ideas! He is really into baseball, but because he's really into it, he has a lot of baseball stuff. Any good ideas of things he may not have? Or should I just go with something else? What would you like to get for your birthday?

I know the syntax to write a program that reads from a file and the syntax to read from a URL, but I need to be able to have a program that does both. I am thinking it will need to be an If statement, but I'm not sure what to do. They said I can count on the URL starting with http..... Anyone help me set up the if statement? Thanks!

I need to be able to read in strings of varying lengths, with each string consisting of the letters T,O,Y,R. I then need to calculate the % of the time each letter appears in the string. I get the math on figuring out the percents, it's the reading in and counting of the characters that has me stuck. I'm trying to do it with a while loop? I'm just a little stuck. Any help?

I have a project and I am trying to figure out code to calculate the day of the week an event occurred. I know how to prompt the user for the date. I'm just confused where to start with calculating the day of the week it occurred on. For example if they entered the date : September 13, 2008. I need to return to them that it was a saturday. Just a quick question: After you have found the first derivative and set it equal to zero to find the critical numbers: you test numbers on both sides of your critical numbers right? My question is a simple one. do you plug the numbers into the original function or the derivative?
