My son (18years) was questioned in school by police regarding a stolen ipod. He was handcuffed during questioning. He received a court summons. He is stating he is innocent. We live in Ohio. Should he have been given his Miranda Rights?

It's manual, and before I just pulled it up and it was right in place over the clips. This year, I've got to pull and tug and usually have a second person help me. Is there a way to adjust it, or does the rag top itself need replaced? I tried oiling the hinges, but it didn't do anthing.
