  • Should I Do A Research Project This Summer Even If It Means I'll Have No Time To Enjoy Myself?

I'm a pre-dental Biology major and I've been approved to do a research project in Philosophy this summer. I've also gotten confirmation to do an internship with an oral surgeon, which I definitely definitely want to do because it's super relevant to my goals. I'm second guessing whether the Philosophy project is worth it, since it's not too relevant to my goals and it's gonna be A LOT of work. I'm starting to think I'd rather just blow it off and enjoy my summer. I've worked so hard this school year and I really feel like I need a break. The research + internship would be SO much, not impossible but a lot. The downside is that I think the research project will be impressive to Dental Schools, which why I wanted to do it in the first place. So it's between breaking my back and possibly having a miserable summer in order to impress dental schools, or saying **** it and having a more enjoyable summer. What should I do?

  • I Got In a Car Accident and Now I'm Sad About How Fragile Human Life Is?

So, I was on a pizza delivery (that's my job) this one day and it was snowing really bad. I could barely see the road through the windshield and my car is not at all equipped for these conditions. Long story short, I didn't notice the road curving at one point and continued driving straight. Fortunately, I didn't hit any valuable property, just a large curb and a small field of grass. I'm also physically alright. My car took a lot of damage though, to the point of being totaled. Anyway, I don't really care about the car, I'm mostly glad that I'm alright. The thing is, now I'm really sad thinking about the possibility of not being alright. What if it was a telephone pole instead of a curve? I could've died or gotten seriously injured. I'm depressed about how I or anyone could die at any moment over such stupid things. What's worse is that it could be something complete out their control. I know our society is progressed a lot, and these occurrences are 'rare,' but they still happen and they are devastating and I'm depressed about it, okay? Has anyone else felt like this? How did you get through it?

  • How Do I Get A Girlfriend?

I'm 20 years old and I'm pretty tall and good looking. I'm smart and get really high grades at my uni, and think that I'm a pretty funny and nice guy overall who would make a good boyfriend. I really want a girlfriend because I am lonely but I don't know how to do it. I've engaged with a few girls here and there, but none of them really sparked. What should I do?
