accident near Gray Summit, Mo., was caused by the inattention of a 19 year-old-pickup driver who sent or received 11 texts in the 11 minutes immediately before the crash.

The pickup, traveling at 55 mph, collided into the back of a tractor truck that had slowed for highway construction. The pickup was rear-ended by a school bus that overrode the smaller vehicle. A second school bus rammed into the back of the first bus.

The pickup driver and a 15-year-old student on one of the school buses were killed. Thirty-eight other people were injured in the

OK last I know a school is much taller than a pickup truck which would mean the driver of the first bus should have been able to see ahead of the smaller truck in front of him.

2nd the bus driver was following too close to the pickup with no safety concern for the kids!

3rd unbelievable was the second inattentive bus driver who plowed into the the first one !

My complaint about this article is not that cel phones weren't the cause of the accident but the use of cel phone in this instance should have resulted in in one crash which my have not been fatal . I believe that if both bus drivers were paying attention they to would have slowed for the road work and avoided the accident .following at a safe distance is more imperative when you are responsible for so many young lives ,yet the article makes it seem like it was all the fault of a 19yr old driver in a pickup that was REAR ENDED by a bus the 15yr that died in that crash is the sole responsibility of the drivers of that buses that could have avoided being the 3rd and 4th .
