  • does the Wii Fit really work?

I want to start an exercise program and got a wii fit for Christmas. My question is, will it really help you to lose weight? I have done a few of the exercises and it just does not seem to push you enough. Has anyone actually lost a significant amount of weight using it?

  • Have any of you taken Dristol as a vitamin D supplement? If so, did you have any side effects?

Due to a low vitaman D level my doctor prescribed a supplement. I am taking the generic version of Dristol 1.25 mg 2x per week. I was wondering if any one else has been on this and if there were any side effects I should be looking out for while taking it. So far I have dry mouth and I seem a bit lightheaded (not dizzy or anything). I dont know if this is normal or what, so i wanted to check. It was prescribed more for mood swings than anything else, so the lightheadedness may just be me feeling more awake/outgoing than down in the dumps but not sure. Anyway thanks in advance for your answers :)

  • Question about loose stitches when using a sewing machine.?

I have a very old singer sewing machine that I bought used. I did this to see if would even like to sew before going out and spending a ton of money on a new machine I would use to collect dust. Anyway, to make a long story short, I have no idea how to use it LOL. I made my first thing the other day which was a pillow, but I noticed that the stitches on the back are REALLY loose, like they are fairly large loops instead of being flat against the fabric. The top stitches are fine. Is this something that I can fix? Or is this because the machine is old? Also if any of you have any information as to where I could go to learn different things about sewing that would be great. Thanks in advance!

  • Question about cystic fibrosis gene carriers?

I am trying to find a way to find out on average how many people actually carry a cystic fibrosis gene. When pregnant with my first child we found out that both my husband and I carried a cystic fibrosis gene. My son was born perfectly normal and healthy. He is 4 now and I am really wanting another child, but my husband is scared to death of the baby getting CF. From the research I have been doing it seems like just about everyone carries this gene. Is this something worth not having more children over or are we being overly cautious? I am wondering if now we have so much technology that doctors and nurses are giving us too much information to scare us.

  • I have a question about hooking a second computer up to the internet.?

I have 2 computers at home and want to get them both hooked up to the internet. The computers will be right next to each other. I called best buy regarding modems and they told me most modems come with at least 4 ports to hook other computers into. Well I went home, and of course the modem I have only has one hookup. My question is, can I plug an ethernet cable into the second port on the main computer hooked up to the internet and plug it into the second computer and get internet that way? That is what we did when we had X-Box Live. So I am not sure if it would work this way also. If not, any other ideas for me? I am low on cash and dont really have the money to buy a brand new modem.

  • UUUGH Boils!!! How do I get them to stop coming back?

I dont know why, but I get boils on the inside of my thigh/groin area. I dont get them as often as I used to, but when I do they are very painful. I am also very fair skinned and they leave scars. I am embarrassed about all the scarring I have. It makes it look like I have some horrible disease or something. Does anyone have any tips for me? I know about the warm soaks and stuff, my question is, why am I getting them to begin with and what can I do to stop it? Its not just a matter of shaving because I get them whether or not I shave.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

  • At what ages should children be learning ABC's and reading?

I was wondering at what ages children usually know their ABCs (picking out each different letter), what age they usually start reading and writing as well. I know all children are different, so I am just looking for some sort of a guideline.

  • Question about sleeping with a CPAP machine and neck problems?

I have sleep apnea and have been sleeping with a CPAP machine for about a month now (I use the mask that just goes over my nose). I have had neck problems for the past 10 years or so and in the beginning of using the machine I was fine. Now, about a month into using it I am finding that I will wake up in the middle of the night and my neck is in so much pain I end up having to take the machine off. I do sleep on my side and im not sure if this is why, but I have a hard time staying on my back. Have any of you experienced this same problem and if so, what did you do to help it? I really need to keep using the machine but am in so much pain at night that I think its going to be hard for me to continue. Thanks in advance!

  • Genealogy Question! What is the best way to find out if I have famous relatives?

I am signed up with ancestry.com and have traced my family name back to the early 1600's. I was wondering what the best way to find out if any of them were famous for something in their time. I know I can do individual searches on each and every one of them, but with more than 500 individuals that seems like it will take forever. Does anyone know of a way either on the website or a place I can import my tree into?
