Is this a good deal for a textbook?

This is my first year starting college so I'm not sure what's good or not. The math book I need will be used for the whole year not just one quarter. The seller says the quality is like new and will also include the solutions manual and is willing to deliver. The total price is $75. The full price for new at my college's bookstore is about $140 and they sold out of the used ones which were $103.50.

Also, what places do you guys recommend for buying textbooks?

So I'm 5'1" and I tried on a long dress and it was like 5" on the floor. My parents don't have a lot of money so I was looking for something under $100.

I bought this because I'm short and it's cheap. Thinking about it now, it seems a bit too casual for prom. Our theme is 007 James Bond. Is this inappropriate or is there a way I can accessorize to make it look more formal?

So I'm debating between UCLA and UCSD. Let me tell u my financial info:

UCLA: I'd have to live in a dorm and cutting all unnecessary expenses it would be about $28675. Now subtracting the all the free money and work study from that, it's $3583 left for one year. That means I can take out loans which are offered for me and are more than enough.

UCSD: I can either live home or in a dorm.

If I live at home all the free money would basically cover everything so no money out of my parents and no loans either.

If I live in a dorm, it would be about $26716 a year. Subtracting all the free money and work study, $2304 is left to be either paid by loans or my parents for the whole year.

The thing is, UCLA is my dream school and I am admitted from a pool of almost 100,000 applicants. Idk what to do. I wanna major in bio and I have that for UCLA. For UCSD I'm undeclared and idk if I can get in if I switch.

So is UCLA worth is? What are your thoughts? Sorry it's so long.

Okay so the ones that have accepted me so far that I like are: UCLA, UCSD, and UCI. I'm still waiting on UC Berkeley and University of Southern California but I don't mind being rejected and they're tough schools anyway. I'm leaning more towards UCLA the most but I also like UCSD.

UCSD:

I would get to live home therefore saving money

It would cost me about $1000 less than UCLA

I would get a car (but I hate driving but I need to practice...)

I got in undeclared and now trying to get bio but space is SUPER limited

It's my dream school but I'm scared of falling behind the academics

It's not near home so I have to live in a dorm which would cost more

I have the financial aid like UCSD but I would have to pay about $1000 than UCSD

I got bio as my major

Seems like a good school

Hi I need your help to find topics on what to talk about AP Club? AP Club is about helping the underclassmen with colleges, ap classes, scholarships, and anything that relates to the academics. We've covered college apps, fafsa, difference b/w CSU, UC, and private schools, and a few scholarships. I have no idea as to what to talk about in this week's meeting since there's only so much you can say before it starts getting repetitive? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Today was the day I got my report card for first semester of senior year hs and I got a 4.5 GPA. I also got accepted to SDSU, UC Riverside, and Cal Poly Pomona. I applied to 11 schools and the rest of it will all be here by Apr. 1. The thing is, I told them all of this today but because it's not UCLA or UCSD it's not good enough. It's ridiculous and I know they love me and stuff but it's quite discouraging. A little "good job" once in a while would suffice. I do know that I try hard for myself but I also want them to be proud. First world problem, am I right?

So I know they only look at soph and junior year.

Highest I can get is 4.8. I'm in Key Club, Green Club, AP club. And I will start my volunteering at a hospital later on this month. I'm taking my first official SAT this month. Also I've never been into sports so I never did it because I felt like it's kind of dishonest to do something just so colleges would love it.

I am not stressed

I don't use heat, maybe like twice a year

Never dyed or bleached

All I do to my hair is shampoo it every other day, air dry, and brush it

This happened when I came back from Cambodia 3 months ago. On the airplane I had a braid on the whole time and noticed a lot fell out but ever sonce then I don't do anything but let it down.

What am I doing wrong??

This was the best I could find of the picture. So I got one in this color and I guess they're military/combat boots? Anyways I feel nervous about wearing them to school because it's so different from what I usually wear. Would you wear them? I don't want to fit in but I don't want people to be mean to me...

I'm doing a poll for one of my projects in school.

1. Is it right of the parents to make the child(ren) choose who is right? (Pretend it's like a serious thing not a stupid silly arguments between couples)

2. If 2 people are divorced but live together and are constantly fighting anyways: go separate ways or stay for the children?

3. Does love not exist anymore if a one of the couple abuses the other?

4. Is it more wrong for the male to abuse the women or the women to abuse the male or equally wrong?

Okay so my dad told me and my brother over and over again that he hates it when we're shy. Like today some dude asked my brother if he liked the pizza and it was a yes or no question and my bro said "mhmm." Then in the car my dad started going on how my bro should have said more instead of yes a yes or no reply. I mean it was a freaking yes/no question!! And then he said that he has no hope in me and my brother b/c we are to shy. Now let me tell you something, when I was younger I used to talk. But whenever we leave, my dad would point out the stuff that he thought I shouldn't have said. So I stopped talking b/c I hated that. Honestly, I'm just sick of it. He said I won't get far in life even though I'm smart. He says you can be smart but as long as you can't speak, you won't get anything in life. I can talk if I want to, it's just I can't be myself around my parents. I know myself: I'm shy, I'm more of a listener and thinker BUT if I feel the need to say something, I will. So how do I deal w/ my dad, especially for the next time he gives the same old lecture again?

Next year I planned getting at least 4.5. But I'm not sure what extracurriculars I could do to be more involved. I was planning on doing cross country and link crew but I will be out of the country for the summer. I will try to volunteer as a helper in a hospital next year(If I get accepted). What else can I do? I want colleges to see the potential in me but I don't just want to join a bunch of activities I might not like just because I want to get into college. What did you do? English: American Literature Honors (sure of it)

History: US History AP or US History and Geography Honors, which one? I don't know..

Science: AP Chemistry or Honors Chemistry. They also have: Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Marine Science, and Physiology. Can someone please tell me what those are?

Math: Pre-Calculus Honors (sure of it)

Electives: AP Psychology (should I take it? Is it hard?)

So I'm a teen but awkward and shy. And there's other teens over there too who are cousins who have known each other since they were little. And I only see these people once or twice in a year. But I have no idea how to start up a convo with them because they know each other and talk about things I don't know about and it's awkward and I would hate to be at a dinner and sit there all by myself. How do you do it? Help?

Usually I just use any shampoo available in the shower. I don't blow dry, and In the past 3 months, I've straightened my hair like 5 times. But I rinse my hair with warm water because it's so cold, could that be it? But why does my hair feel so flat and thin?? Could it be the constant change of shampoo? The shampoo right now is Infusium. Any suggestions on how to grow thicker hair?

So for my bio class we have to do a project where you have to make an analogy for the different parts of a cell. And I was thinking of a hospital. But I don't know the different jobs of people in a hospital. Like the person in the front desk, the doctors, nurse, security guard, what else is there?? And can you tell me what each person does? The parts of the animal cell are:

Cell membrane-organize the chemical activities, and keep the bad things out. (security guard?)

Nucleus-Control center of everything

Cytoskeleton-provide structural support (the hospital building?)

Golgi apparatus-receives and modifies substances manufactured by the Endoplasmic reticulum

Lysosome-helps a cell contain active hydrolytic enzymes w/o digesting itself

Mitochondrion- convert energy from one chemical to another (the people who makes the food in the hospital?)

Ribosome-site of protein synthesis in the cytoplasm..

Endoplasmic reticulum- synthesis of protein, makes protein

Flagella-Propels protists through the water and move fluids across the surfice of tissue cells

Contractile vacuole-maintain the cell's internal environment (so those people who clean the hospital and the beds..what are they called?)

Okay so in PE we usually have to run a mile like a few times a week. I have it in the afternoon and it gets REALLY hot. I always run and do all my laps. The only problem is that feeling of sweat and I'm worried about how I smell after it. Also I use a 50 SPF sunscreen before running, is that good? But I always end up getting red even though my skin is tan and sunscreened?? Also how can I freshen myself up for it?
