  • Why would an intelligent alien species be interested in us? + BQ?

    I asked this question on one of the AP science threads (news.yahoo.com/s/space/20100730/sc_space/areaofmarsidentifiedasgoodplacetolookforevidenceofpastlife) so I thought I might ask the same question here and see what answers I got.

    So why would any intelligent alien species even be remotely interested in us?

    Think about it, we are in a backwater area of the western spiral arm in Milky Way galaxy, as a species goes, we are fairly low tech and all we seem to use technology for is finding new and better ways of killing each other.

    Don't get me wrong, I believe there is alien life out there (and the chances for intelligent life are pretty good).

    So why us? (referring to UFOs)

    BQ: if an intelligent alien species showed up tomorrow, would you trust the them?
