Believers in the literal truth of the Hebrew Bible, Christian Bible and Koran - Why do you believe that they are literally true?
Is it not dangerous to believe in the literal truth of ancient writings when they create separation between people, and lead you to think, believe and do things contrary to Truth? Unless you understand the Truth, namely that all things are creations of God / Allah / Abba and equally loved by "Him", you will never be enlightened. If any writings or so-called teachers of God tell you to act in an unloving or violent way towards any living thing, then they are teaching you wrongly. Think always - Are my thoughts, words and deeds in line with Truth and Love? Are people's views and teachings in line with this. If not, these are against your Creator's wishes. Think carefully about what you are being taught and see these in the right light.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy do some people have a negative view of Jesus? If you are one of these, please explain.?
My understanding of Jesus, from various sources (not just the Bible), is that he was a man who understood the Truth; helped many people; advised us how to achieve happiness; rattled the cages of various scholars, leading to his death on the cross, and resurrection as a means to show that the body is unimportant and death unreal. Given that he did many good things, and spoke of the need to be nice to everyone, I wonder why some people have a such a negative view of him. Is it simply that these people do not understand Jesus, or simply do not like being told what to do? Do they perceive any authority figure as being a threat, or simply do not like their personal views being questioned? Is it the ego in action?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy would anyone want to experience ultimate reality permanently?
Some writers say that the experience of Oneness is the aim of life: to experience permanently the state of "no thing", nothingness. Some say that this state is permanent bliss. Some say that bliss is experienced up to the point of achieving Oneness (when form falls away entirely), but then nothingness, not even feelings, remain - the so-called "Void". What is your view? (No flippant answers, please!!)

If I meditate and think that I experience reality as Oneness, peace, clarity, etc., how do I know that this is true rather than simply a function of the brain?
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoCan ultimate reality be experienced?
Is the experience of ultimate reality bliss or nothingness? If there is no form in ultimate reality, what is the experience and what / who experiences it? When you answer this question, please state why you have answered as you have. Thanks.
