  • Hot new or classic (children's/young adult) fiction for summer reading list?

Hey, I'm going to have some spare time this summer and would like to come up with a stellar reading list. If there are any old classic must-reads then I would like to hear about those. Any new up-and-comers would be great too. Last summer I enjoyed the Hunger Games. So far on my list for this year I have The Hobbit (want to re-read it before the movie comes out in December).

I'm an adult, but I love younger books. If you could include briefly the premise in brackets, that would be awesome too. Thank you all in advance!! :)

  • Compounding Interest....can't remember the formula?

I took Stats but I completely forget the formula or "easy way" to solve this problem.

Say you deposit $5000 into a 5 year long GIC with a 2.3% interest rate compounded annually. How much money would you have at the end of 5 years?

I was able to solve this the long way (calculating year per year, etc.) but please help if you can remember the easier way.

  • Any show recommendations that are a little off the beaten track but still good?

I like shows like: Corner Gas, Justified, the Big Bang Theory, Haven, Suits, etc. It's alright if it's an older show, or no longer aired. I have some free time on my hands and would like to find a good show.

  • Identification of movie: house of writers then a woman comes out of the blue?

I think the setting is in Britain (not sure, think they had accents). There may be between 4 and 8 of them. This woman walks in one day and the whole house gets shaken up. I saw the trailer a long time ago. Please give all ideas that come to mind.

  • Name that movie: chick flick, guy connected with girl through piano a grandfather made?

One of their grandfathers made a piano, the other currently owns the piano. They keep running into eachother. Something gets thrown of a window and onto her head while she's on a park bench. I only saw the trailer and can't remember the title. Please give as many random suggestions as possible.

  • Movie/Show Memory Help: scene= desert ranch, cult in white, main characters rescue member(s) of cult?

That is pretty much all I remember. It's a ranch or a really remote place with a couple cabins in the desert. These guys are coming to rescue a specific one of them. (Or was it all of them?) They get the girl, they return her to her father(?). Who may have paid the team to go and get her if I remember correctly. This is a scene from the beginning. People pay them to do impossible missions. I think they may be ex-military. Any ideas?

  • Action/Army Movie Title Help, I can't remember?

There was a guy (or was it a group of guys?) who was in the military and was falsely accused of a military crime. He was proven guilty. We know the verdict within the first half hour, the rest of the movie is what he does about it. There was another officer there (at least I think he was there) who betrayed/accused him. The rest of the movie is either him breaking out of jail, proving his innocence, or going vigilante with some of his army people.

Sorry, my memory is so fuzzy and all these movies are a mishmash in my head. Please just start spewing out random titles that come to mind. I'm hoping I'll stumble upon it. Thank you!
