  • How to arrange long programs?

I'm writing a really long program (a few pages long) on MATLAB. What's the best way to professionally arrange/divide the code so that my supervisor doesn't get angry at me again?

    Thanks!

  • Question for girls: Is it ok to tell boyfriend about every time you get hit on?

Hi, I'm a guy (just using friend's account), I've been dating my gf for more than a year and its a serious relationship. However, I've been getting very distressed recently. I don't understand but she's been telling me every detail about how guys hit hard on her (as in "You still with that guy?" and putting arms around her,etc.). I've never been a jealous man before, but I fear I'm on the verge of becoming one. I asked her politely and simply not to tell me those things... I understand girls get hit on a lot. She argues though that she wants to be "honest with me" and that she thinks I should know. However, seeing as I am not interested in learning about all the details, I ask her to just not tell me out of pure respect for my preference. Yet she keeps ignoring these petitions of mine and keeps telling me things that are outright tormenting. I try to ignore what she says and let it slide, yet its becoming increasingly hard for me to bear.

    Questions:

    1) Is it ok for her to do that ?

    2) What should I say or do in order to solve/improve the situation ? If you think its find for her to do that, how should I act? and what can I tell myself to help me calm down?

Please give me polite, honest answers.

    Thanks!

  • Can you solve this complicated beam deflection problem?

I need help finding the deflection equation for the problem posted in the link below. I note this is a BEAM and the boundary conditions are: at x=0, deflection=0, and at x=0, (deflection) ' = 0. Can you solve this problem?

  • Beam deflection formula due to axial load?

Hi, I've been trying to find the deflection formula for a beam that has a force acting along its axis, and in addition has other bending forces on the side. I already found the tabulated formulas for finding the deflection due to the bending forces, but I can't seem to get right the deflection due to that axial load. Any help is much appreciated :)

  • What is the beam deflection equation for the following scenario?

Hi, I've been looking all over the place for a tabulated equation where there is a single moment 2/3 beam length away from a fully constrained end. I know there's a tabulated equation for a moment at the free END of the beam, however, I need it 1/3 of the beam length away from the free end.

I tried deriving the equation several times but I can't seem to get it right.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I need help with operating systems please?

I am trying to fully remove ubuntu from my mac.

I went on disk utility and removed whatever said ubuntu on the left side of the window. Yet when I reboot the system, I keep on getting the option to open ubuntu and it still works. I need a step by step process to remove ubuntu and repartition the hd ( even though when I look at "partition" tab under the Hitachi HDD thing, I have partitions: "Bootcamp", DS01, Machintosh HD, DS04"... what does that mean? is it still there?

HELPP!! Please do not send me links... unless they are very very easy to use. obviously... as you might know by now, I know veeery little about linux and os.

    Thanks! :)

  • I need advice on operating systems for my computer?

I have a MacBook Pro OSX Snow Leopard. I want to triple boot this thing: partition part of the hard drive also onto Ubuntu and Windows 7.

In what order should I do these? I actually already downloaded ubuntu last week and it worked fine... but now I am trying to triple boot the Windows 7, I go on BootCamp, and the following error appears

"The Backup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition"

"Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."

Then to solve this problem I look at multiple forums and it says I have to do all this crap, I need an external HDD large enough, etc, etc.

What if I just erase the Ubuntu, then install the Windows 7 first, and then play it around trying to install the Ubuntu last?

Please answer as soon as you can! Thanks for help.

    1) Take the GRE

    2) Look for grad school programs ( I mean down to the core research of what programs I like)

    3) Start my application process

    4) Ask professors for recommendations?

    5) Any other advice you might have?

    Thanks! :)

  • Unbuntu Linux wireless configuration question please?

I'm new to this. My command line after writting lspci says that my network device is:

03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Device 4331 (rev 02)

but it does not state the PCI-ID or even say anything about "wireless LAN". Does this mean anything?

    I went on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/...

but there is no mention of a driver for BCM4331. What should I do?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Trouble with my guinea pig :( ?

HELP! I just got a guinea pig (only one), and I put it in the cage this morning for the first time, but it won't eat, it won't drink water, and it won't have it's vitamin C. What should I do? I don't think it is adapting well to the new environment. I'm afraid to wait and "give it more time"... what if it becomes too sad and simply starves itself to bed??!! :(

I've tried feeding it by hand, giving it water by hand, taking it out and playing with it for a while, leaving it in the cage so that it does something! (nothing, it just stands on the corner and doesn't it or drink :( ). I DON'T WANT IT TO STARVE ITSELF TO DEATH!!! :(

  • Is an H: drive absolutely necessary for Visual C++ directory? or can I just put it in C: drive?

My computer only has a "C:" drive but on instruction guide, to run a program on Visual C++ compiler I need to save directory on "H:" drive. Is there a difference between the two? If not, then is it fine if I just place my directory in the "C:" drive. What's the difference between the two anyways?

    Thanks in advance
