I have a 3-Way with 30-70-100 W. Today I ordered a 30W CFL bulb hoping that I can use it in the 3-way lamp and save some energy. But when I plugged it in, its not when the light is at 30W, but it glows when its at 70W. I'm confused here.

The bulb is suppose to work when the lamp is set at minimum setting that is 30W. But why is it not working.

My second question is when the switch is set to 70W the bulb works, so can I use in this manner. Does this cause any overheating of the bulb and fire accident and how much wattage is used at this position, is it 30W or 70W.

And there is a clear warning on the lamp that says do not use single watt bulb there will be fire risk.

Hi, yesterday night before going to bed, I placed the pillow at the end/bottom of the bed (where we usually place our legs while sleeping) and moved the blanket to the side of the bed and I kept my head on the pillow and went to sleep.

After sometime I woke up and to my surprise I found myself sleeping on the bed in correct position with the blanket under my head and pillow under my legs. I do not understand how did I get into this position. I do not remember anything about moving the blanket or shifting my position.

Can anyone please explain what actually happened?

I feel really bad about the situation. Well actually about 2 months ago I was working in a small software company. And you know how small companies work, almost all the work was on my head. I was working very hard taking all the responsibilities.

In that unlucky time, I got an offer from a big MNC and i moved on. And now my life has changed a lot, sufficient work and its really good. And even my manager (who was good) also left the company.

But now my problem is, when i left my previous company, one of my best friend is working there. When i was there, she used to have normal work and she liked the work and the environment. But after i left, all the work was on her head. She is struggling to work as she is not much experienced, infact just a fresher there.

When ever i call her, she says, there is lots and lots of work, that she is unable to complete it and unable to handle all the tasks, so just want to leave or resign from the company.

Looking at this situation, i feel very bad, coz i feel my best friend is in trouble as i left the company and also my nanager left (who was good), now a new manager is there and he is eating her head, saying do this, complete that, its all your fault, and things like this.

i moved on as it was my career, i have to look at myself before i look at others rite, first myself and then comes my friend. but somehow i cannot take this. i feel really sorry for her. i just cannot help her in anything. now if she leaves the company, her career will be in trouble. i really dont understand what to do.

please answer honestly guys, did i do the rite thing ? if yes, was it my fault that she is in trouble now and then how do i support her now. if no, then why ?

she is still my best friend, and i cant see her in trouble...

hi, i work in a software company, so i sit in front of the computer for 8-10 hrs a day. this is badly affecting my eye sight. so i changed my monitor brightness to 0 and contrast to 60. will this reduce my eye strain or will it increase my eye sight?

hi there, im working in a small scaled software company as a developer. it is a one year contract, and i worked there for 4 months. but from past two months i have noticed that they are making me work for 10-12 hours a day and the salary is too low and it is like working under stress. it is like the people over there talk sweetly and make me do all the necessary and unnecessary work. so i have decided to leave the job.

is this a good decision or should i continue the job till my contract ends ??

well i dont see any. in the place where i work, i see my friends try to get name and fame by making me do their work. it is like this, they come to me and say can you solve this problem. as a friend i'll help them. but when it comes to me, they never help when i really needed help.

we all see favicons in many sites, i want to know the exact dimensions of these favicons.

im trying to delete a record based on the id, here im trying to concatenate the id variable in javascript function to the php code so that i can delete that record.

the way i coded, does not concatenate the variable and the php code.
