Christians: If left in a environment of totally free will would our development have been less troublesome?
If left in a environment of totally free will on a planet formed without as many social influences and barriers to travel and mingle - would our development have been less troublesome?
Suppose the moon rotated on it's own axis a little faster and exposed it's entire surface for observation and never an eclipse. Suppose there were no oceans but only moderate sized lakes and creeks but no mighty rivers, no mountains only some hills larger than others, gray and no black nights or stars to see for being in a dusty part of the galaxy, no other planets to observe. Suppose things still grew and we could harvest crops and had a 24 hour day. Suppose we pondered an unproven God that never intervenes. Do you think things have been better in that kind of environment or would mankind fall to uncontrolled depravity for lack of national spirit that barriers foster?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Will the ELCA Assembly be sleeping 8/21 when the unrepentant attempt sowing Weeds?
The Parable of the Weeds may be warning to not make disfellowship a practice but also to not be 'sleeping' when sinners want to rewrite doctrine. It is looking like liberal media is laying low on the upcoming E. L. C. A. vote about practicing homosexual clergy leading the flock because preliminary voting patterns suggest things are going well for the homosexual agenda. Do you think the ELCA leadership is sleeping?

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre atheist's self medicating when they choose best answer and quickly resolve their own questions?
Looking over the pattern of questions and answers created by the atheist camp, it seems more an act of self medication for the needs of a person with OCPD (a.k.a, control freak) than just the actions of a troll when they quickly choose best answer and resolve their own R&S question. Does that sound about right?

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEveryone, suppose this: You are one of a school of fish with an offer to consider?
Suppose you are one of a school of fish living in a fantastic river teaming with long life and joy. However your school is arguably trapped to a shorter life in an eddy current which seems to offer plenty of food. You have long heard of the main stream because others went there but jumped back to rejoin their family. In time a cyclops comes along. The cyclops tells you about your entrapment and offers to scoop you into the main stream. Would you accept the offer?

How might a group of adults of like mind exhibit loneliness after finding out in time that there were no other people that could form some other group? Let's suppose the group consists of well educated resourceful adults having much in common but trapped in an exclusive environment.

1 AnswerPhilosophy1 decade agoHow soon until we see NASA backpedaling on it's latest sunspot prediction?
NASA predicted a peak of 90 sunspots in about 2013 but we just had a 26 sunspot day on July 5th, 2009. It marks the end of the lull with a surprise surge. The graph that came with the May 29th sunspot prediction from NASA showed an average of 25 would not come for another 18 months. My guess is a surprise revision (returning to their 2006 predictions) in about 180 days. What's yours?

5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWhich solar flare scientist is ahead?
Dated 03.10.2006 a Solar Storm Warning article by NASA explains an accepted theory about solar flare activity. The two scientists involved both agreed the upcoming maximum "should be a doozy" but could not agree on 'when' that would be, 2010-11 or 2012. The Sun currently is in a longer than expected lull. Isn't the later guess looking more accurate?

5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoDo other Christians have an appreciation for opportunity to glorify God?
I was fixing to answer a question about wanting to blame Christians for slavery. The point of my response was going to be that I don't mind seeing prophecy fulfilled and why such accusations were false though the blame is bound to come. The question got deleted. I understand the prickly question would tick off some people but I figure real Christians can handle it. Aye?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow flimsy does using Heb 8:4 in an attempt to discredit the existence of Jesus look to you?
In "God Who Wasn't There," Brian Flemming said Hebrews 8:4 is a smoking gun.
Without offering a detailed examination see:
Heb 7:27 ... "when he sacrificed himself"
Heb 8:4, ... "if he were on earth"
