Sex Songs- Classic Rock Power Ballads?
What 'sex songs' in that vein can be mined purely from the area of 70's-centric Classic Rock Power Ballads....?
A focus upon 'one-man-goes-crazy-upon-the-guitar" sounds; driving beat, long solos... artistic 'morphing' of the flow and timescale... "Ballad" is a loose term here; driving, pulsing tunes that eat up the kilowatts are the focus... style is open so long as it could be in a Walt Hill movie...
Theme starters: Poison by Alice Cooper, Stranglehold by Ted Nugent, Ready For Love by Bad Company, Everybody Wants Some by Van Halen, Just Got Paid by ZZ Top.... this listing is more inclusive musically, but the closer it falls to intended centerline, the better.
Best Answer and +10 pts! to the answer with the highest number of usable tracks.
(I posted in 'Blues' intentionally... much closer, musically to the music I need than 'rock and pop..', these days anyway)
2 AnswersBlues10 years agoGenerating Good Credit?
I'm thinking I'll want to start a company (small LLC) to create a venue for profit.
Naturally, I selfishly want the best possible rates on a loan to start said business.
Currently my personal credit will not get me good rates. So here's what I thought:
Take out a loan. Instead of buying something, invest the money where it will return a higher interest rate than the loan requires in repayment, so that the act will generate revenue, rather than be a drain.
Repay the original loan, on time and in full. Net marginal profit, 'prove' credit viability- i.e. a boost in credit.
Will this not work? Is it illegal? Is there a better way of generating revenue AND credit while effectively not 'renting money' at all; which is what the bank wants you to do....
2 AnswersCredit10 years agoSpecialized Custom Walther Polizeipistole Kriminalmodell(S)?
Poring over decades-old adverts for Walther, I've come to really appreciate all 3 of the original offerings: the full size, original 'PP' Polizei Pistole, suitable for active firearms work (police, sidearm) and home defense; the compact 'PP-K,' meaning "Kriminall" (undercover detective) model, truncated everywhere possible, best used by detectives or for CC, personal defense... and the 'PP Sport,' a ludicrous target pistol suitable for conversion into a competition model, or just general outdoor sport shooting.
Recently, however, I've wound up thinking I'd prefer a certain configuration of PP attributes, for a full size:
A PPK-S, or PPK with a PP frame; a sport length barrel, a 10+1 (or 9+1) high capacity mag(tested and reliable) with a mag grip-extension piece.
Details include:
*No front sight on slide. P-38, "ringlet"-style barrel mounted sight, actual land/post copied from PPK.
*Low-profile 4-Way adjustable (windagexelevation) rear notch, possibly with a full german style hood.
*Above grip extension as temp./perm. addition to magazine, OR as custom grips that have an extra 'skirt' extended bottom, with a normal but longer mag.
*.380 or Para 9. I'd love Super, but... I'm not a billionare...
Has anything like this been tried? It's like the PP version of the 'Artillery' P08. (but without the stupid Mp18 drum mag).
Is this a good idea, or not, and how much would it cost? Could you really swap a sport barrel onto a PPK-S, and just custom the rest? Or would that route fail from 'complications' of any nature(mechanical, legal)? What would doing this get me into, as a project....
1 AnswerHunting10 years agoAny counseling/help for a past life veteran?
I have.... residual issues from previous experiences, military.
I need help with them, as many do. Unfortunately, I have yet to bring myself to seek help for one major reason..... the experiences are from the early to mid-60's. And I was born in 1987. Call me crazy, but my first dream, at age 3, was of getting cut in half by an AKM frantically trying to force a stuck-but-gud charging rod back into some POS pre-A1 model. Quite the experience at 3. So whether you can believe me or not, this is a %100 serious question, and I expect no less serious answers. I'm afraid no one would take me seriously, but... the dreams are more real to me than what I find when I wake up in bed fighting for my life. It's embarrassing, it's complicated, it's completely disbelieved by the majority of people today. I'm not a buddhist, I don't *believe in reincarnation, all I know is that me or some version of me WAS there, never came back, and still isn't over it. Over the years the dreams have fleshed out more of the story, but never enough to look anything up. Not to mention what I would have done would STILL be classified, and with the d**n records fire in '71, there isn't a single record left to poke through. So I have no proof, other than being afraid to sleep, and staying awake because I'm too tired to deal with it again. I'm sure I've already alienated most of you, but I need to do something to try and reach out, since it IS real, and I thought doing it on here might be an anonymous way to actually find out where help may be that is open-minded enough to accept what I've had to deal with this whole time, as unbelievable as it is. Please help me, I'm not unstable bc of it, but I am suffering. What I do in my dreams, or maybe did before, is enough. I need to be free of this....
4 AnswersPsychology10 years agoVacuum inside my computer? Static charge...?
I got a new desktop (got it built, act.) a few months ago. The vents/fans are all +4 in. off the ground, not at the bottom of the tower. I do have it on carpet, but I vacuum frequently, keep the pets out and only smoke outside. Yet, it's been several months, and it's time to kill some cobwebs.
Here's my problem...... I was going to vacuum it, as it seemed much smarter to pull the dust OUT than to push the dust IN, especially into unused slots and pin holes. I was always told to SUCK on my controller ports and cartridge games, never BLOW, so that was my thinking......
Turns out a house vacuum cleaner generates a ton of static that WILL LIKELY discharge into your computer while cleaning it. As such, it would seem the experts all agree that YOU SHOULD NOT VACUUM INSIDE YOUR COMPUTER.
I know enough about electricity that a vacuum generating static makes complete sense.... how it transfers down a PLASTIC hose I have no idea, but whatever. I trust that the experts are right.
Only problem is the only air compressor I have access to weighs literally 1500 pounds, is larger than a 1950's refrigerator, and blasts air strong enough to blow Chuck Norris into the next county. It would literally knock my tower straight over closer than 3 feet. It's also +40 miles away at my folk's place, and they take more than 8 mo to remember to do something.
I also don't feel like buying canned air.... it's overpriced, IMO, and I just don't want to spend the money on it. Plus I have a roommate who is trying to stay clean, so I don't even want it around.
Besides grabbing a drinking straw and putting myself in the hospital puffing, what can I do?
Can I ground the vacuum? The PC? The power supply AND the vacuum motor are already grounded. I don't think that path for a charge matters to the static issue, though.
I've run romex in houses TO CODE and built my own FM, AM, and short band radios, all without education, so I have the competence to pull it off, but HOW DO I DIRECT ANY CHARGE AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER while I vacuum? Does it have to jump from the housing of the vacuum, or does it transfer down the hose and tube?
Am I doomed to either making my computer suffer, or buying a ludicrously expensive compressor JUST to clean my computer? I'm not working in IT or anything....
1 AnswerDesktops10 years agoMake/Model suggestion on a moisture-proof radio for a bathroom?
My GF and I have decided we want a radio in the bathroom, yet the only one we have the right size(not a whole deck) is an antique wood frame Realistic. It's already in use in another room and would probably get completely destroyed, inside and out, in a high-moisture environment.
The 120v duplex receptacle I will be plugging it into is a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI, the ones with the reset button that shut off entirely if a short is detected, like when an appliance falls into water) so electrical safety isn't a concern-
What I am concerned about, in such a dry climate, is steam. The radio won't be IN the shower at all, so it doesn't need to be 'water-proof' just reasonably moisture resistant, whether it's advertised as such or not.
My GF also wants it to have either an iPod mounting cradle, or what I suggested instead, a mini-jack(headphone size) input plug to connect anything that can play through headphones. IMHO, those iPod cradles seem highly susceptible to moisture corruption.
We're willing to commit a chunk of change to this, but we're hoping to avoid paying a whole lot, somewhere in the $25-80 range.
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade ago'Best' pick for 0.3 in. Battle Rifle?
This is going to be more personal preference than anything, but god knows we have our reasons, so feel free to post them.
Here are the contestants:
Springfield M14 (M1 Garand descendant, Vietnam Veteran)
Beretta BM59 (evolution of Beretta's WWII lifetime license to produce M1's)
Armalite Ar-10 (the 'true' ancestor of the M-16, Eugene Stoner's original masterpiece)
FN FAL/Fabrique Nationale Fusil Automatique Léger (the 'right arm of the free world,')
Enfield L1A1 (essentially an FAL, with limey pride)
C.E.T.M.E. Modelo(s) (Spanish take on the post WWII european 'storm rifle')
Heckler & Koch G3 (1970s Version 2.0 from the place it all began)
FN SCAR-H ( Brand New and Kicking #1)
Heckler & Kock 417 (Brand New and Kicking #2)
I'm partial to the FAL, BM-59 and M14 personally, and I don't like the SCAR and HK417 being on this list, as they are a whole new generation... but don't let any of that affect your answer.
Make your pick, and explain your choice.
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAm I the only one who feels like life is determined to break me?
I'm not looking for sympathy or comfort, so no depression suggestions or consolation, please.
I'm not looking for attention or to complain, so no 'suck it up,' comments, please. Don't waste YOUR time.
But I am curious if I'm the only one who feels like life has taken a keen interest in making every big, little and medium feature and every little twist and turn of my life as horrible as it could possibly be.... that it seems impossible, odds wise for everything that has happened to happen, and yet, even worse, it's all ironically not dramatic and gory enough to even tell anyone about. I don't want to tell a sob story about my life, but pretty much everything that could have gone wrong from before I was born up till now has gone worse than even that with an additional bonus prize package of horrible tacked on to it.... to where I can't comprehend how it could have happened, or how I'm still alive today and not in prison or committed to a mental ward or a junkie....
Death doesn't scare or bother me, and sometimes I feel like I can accept the bumps of life so well I can't even move anymore... I feel emotion, a sunset makes me happy but a close friend dying doesn't evoke even a tear or huff, and I'm not blocking it.... I'm just 'ok' with it anyway......
Just not sure if anyone else out there made it through several million metric tons of s*** and is now not sure if their too worn out to feel pain anymore or not.... I know this question rambles but there really isn't a more concise way to put it. My story isn't within airline flying distance of anyone else's I've ever heard of- maybe not the worst ever but several hundred times worse than an 'average persons' (yes I'm sure) and totally bizarre. If that doesn't describe your life at all, just please don't post an answer. Just put 'boondoggle' as your answer if you just want the points. I'm looking for real answers from people who know what I'm even talking about.
3 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoHelp! I'm getting Illegally screwed by my county courts and have no idea what to do!?
Ok... when I was 16 I had a blowout with my really f#&%ed up parents and wound up getting charged for it and run through the juvenile system... the system is a total mess (on purpose, in my opinion) and when I finally got out of all of it 8 mo later (for a misdemeanor?) the only thing I had in my life was a friend at my shitty minimum wage job. We wound up getting together, and she wound up being a (and no exaggeration here) pathological sociopath(the real, clinical kind) and meth addict and I didn't figure out either until it was to late... or that she wasn't on birth control like she said...
Long story short after getting reamed by my local county process for over 3 years.. I'm now stuck paying 4 1/2 times more child support (to her mother) than I should be, per county income guidelines. With all my chemical and psychological illnesses, (bipolar, panic attacks, etc..) there is ZERO way I can work... I've tried, and I just can't do any more month long stints of nonstop insomnia and suicidal urges for minimum wage.... I'm still getting charged over $2,600 a year when it should only be $600. I've already had it reviewed, so don't suggest that. I can't afford a lawyer, and my county/city courts are outright corrupt anyway.... The county has never lost ONE SINGLE DHS/Child Support case in their entire history, and the deciding judge, city retained law firm and caseworker's superior all meet in a closed session before cases are even brought to court. When I did hire a lawyer, the judge still ignored me and the lawyer entirely, the county sent court date summons to arrive AFTER the date every time, and you can neither get in touch with the caseworkers or get them to call you. My county is corrupt and doesn't play fair, I really don't think the ACLU is appropriate or relevant here, but I really need powerful help from an unconventional direction. Paying 2,6k a year for a child that I was never even given a chance or legal venue to claim or fight for is preventing me from affording college, any healthcare or even basic living expenses. Please help me!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoFinding adopted relative - Searching Birth certificates by county?
Trying to find a same generation relative given up by mother at birth. Only information known is mother and [supposed] father's names, not useful if adopted and not being state employees; county of birth, age, gender, and birthdate within 2-4 days. I was thinking searching through birth records from the county in the relevant time period might provide some insight, wondering where this information could be found- not contacting the county about a known individual, but sifting through 'all records' cross referencing the information. How/where could this be done? And, what would another way be to find this person, that you know has worked for others or yourself.
2 AnswersGenealogy1 decade agoMy television emits low buzzes and whines when playing DVDs.?
Ok, no hokey wannabe answers like 'ur cords busted' or 'the contacts are loose.'
I'm not some goober with all thumbs. Here's the scoop. If you can't understand why the details I give are relevant, or you don't understand them, you probably don't have the answer.
Playstation 2 Slimline model. 'Standard' ostensibly.
PS2 Data -> RCA [RED YELLOW WHITE] data line.
Mitsubishi big screen, old school. As deep as it is wide. RCA in, RCA out, and coax in.
When I play DVDs on the playstation, visual and audio are crisp and clear. The problem is a low buzzing, whirring, or very high digital 'whining' that is a high frequency buzzing. The aberrance does not play off the audio, or interplay with it. It comes out of the TV speakers along with the sound signal, but is entirely on its own. The TV does not make this sound normally, or from broadcast TV, or the old VHS. PS2 games do not seem to do it as much, almost not at all, but periodically it comes up.
It seems very much like a ground loop problem, but here is the thing- both the TV and the Playstation are 'floating' i.e. not grounded whatsoever. Two prong plugs, so no ground loop, not even a direct ground... and no clear way to ground either.
The other detail I should mention is that the sound is influenced by the visual. No distinguishable pattern, but bright visuals, especially of color, seem to be what decides what timber and frequency the buzzing is at. The buzzing is nonstop but intermittent. At times, its clear and loud, through every scene. Others, its not there at all. It doesn't depend on the DVD format, every disc will do it equally as often.
Additional: the original PS2 cord had half of its prongs missing, almost exactly half, right down the middle. One side intact, one completely gone. The video and audio seemed totally fine and high quality, except for the buzzing. I replaced the cord, all new, and again, high quality data but the buzzing is still there, exactly the same. PS2 and TV, DVDs and data ports all seem in good condition and operating fine.
All standard equipment, standard setup, no ground on either piece, new cord, many different DVDs. Same problem. Please help me stop the buzzing!
1 AnswerTVs1 decade agoBaking a chicken: how long?
I am cooking a whole chicken in a roast pot. It is 3-4 ilbs. I defrosted it entirely, washed it, removed the tidbits from inside, rubbed it down with shortening, and put it in a roast pot and put 4 cubed up gold potatoes around the edge. Been cooking on 350F now for just over an hour. So, the liquid is boiling on its own(the juices I didn't add water) the liquid comes out very yellowish, thick in color, but clear. It is clear running out. But the skin is still wet and very light colored, not browned and crisp like I expected. How much longer does it need to cook? Stainless roast pot with lid. I am at 5,000 ft elevation BTW. This needs to work out as it is all the food I have right now. Will it brown? Does it need to? Please help

I have over 370,000 spam messages in my inbox. They just keep pouring in. 'Show:200 Per Page' and the select all check box is not enough. I've spent literally days clicking off 200 at a time. But I never make a dent. And they just keep cramming in. Some are dated 2038 instead of just a few years ahead. I need to know how to completely zap the entire goddamn inbox in one fell swoop, and how to keep any of these spammers from sending me a message again. This is ridiculous.
