  • If I wanted to creat my own rat food mix what should I include?

I have heard of people creating their own rat food mix instead of buying it from a store. What would I have to include in the mix?

  • Need help convincing parents on letting me get rats!!?

Hello, I have been wanting pet rats since last year and I have done all of my research on them. I have already tired to convince my parents last year, but my mom wouldn't budge. I tried again yesterday and I explained to my mom all of the pros and cons and that they make great pets. I told her some facts also and well she must have forgotten them and she seemed so surprised that they lived for only 2-3 years. She was also surprised and was sad when I told her that I would rescue them so they wouldn't be snake food. I told her some other things too.

My dad told me a few times that his buddy had a rat and he thought it was pretty interesting. But my dad doesn't want me to have rats. I asked him why I couldn't have rats and he said he doesn't want people to think I'm a freak. I don't care what people think! People don't understand that pet rats are different from wild rats and my dad knows this but he knows that other people don't understand this. I told my mom this and she said she doesn't care what other people think. I then asked her why I couldn't get rats and she said she doesn't want any more animals in the house( I have 2 hamsters and a cat). She says this because it breaks her heart when she sees animals pass away. That's the only reason she told me I couldn't get them. Any help?

  • What does this mean? Does he like me?

Okay so it all started last year towards the end of the school year. We would do homework together for a class that I had with him. We have been texting every since. He was always nice to me, and we always have our inside jokes. Anyway so now I have the same lunch as him and also were are on the same bus. When we pass each other we don't really say hi or anything. I'm really shy. And plus I don't want to come up to him when his friends are with him and plus my friends are with me too so it's awkward. And when I'm on the bus I usually sit in the front since it's load in the back and I can't find a seat but yesterday I went in the back and was in the seat in front of him and we were talking. When we text he flirts with me and last night he spammed me with the kissing emoji faces and the ones with the hearts as eyes. We were having a funny convo and he was flirting and stuff. What do you guys think? Do u think he likes me?

    Thanks

    -briana btw I'm a sophomore

  • Boy problems!!!! Please help!!!?

Well I have been talking to this guy for a couple months now. I had a class with him and we did work together but didn't really talk much in school. I got his Number and we started texting and stuff and well I really wanted to hangout with him for a while now. We live on the same beach so I thought it would be a good idea to go to the beach together. So anyway we agreed that we would go to beach the next day which is today. After the agreement He started putting kissy faces and winky faces and the face with the hearts as eyes. Well anyway the next day when were Guna go to the beach he started talking about drivers school and stuff but didn't talk about the beach until 20-30 mins after we arranged. I had limited time cuz I had to go to practice right after. So I said it was hot out and the water was Perfect and he replies he would join me but it would take him 10-20 mins to walk there. So I told him there wasn't a point cuz I had to leave soon. So I'm very confused on y he didn't just leave earlier and y he didn't come . I mean that wasn't nice of him. What do I do. I really wanted to hangout with him cuz he is nice but that was rude. Was he flirting with me when he was writing all those faces cuz it looks like he was . And y didn't he show up? Does this mean anything, and if yes then what?

Thanks and also I'm a 15 year old girl

  • How do I ask a guy to hangout with me?

Well, I have been texted this guy. (We have been texted for around a month now). i had a class with him but I never really talked to him. Then he started siting at my table cuz his friend was there so sometimes we would share/split the work. Anyway I got his number so we could do hw together an then we started talking. I showed the texts to my friend and she said he enjoys talking with me. I enjoy talking with him also. I don't think he flirts with me and I don't really care, tho. I want to be able to get to know him some more and be able to actually so him in person and stuff. I want to like hangout with him, but I don't know what to say. We live on the same beach btw. So would it be weird if I asked him if he could go to the beach with me? I just don't want it to be awkward or anything haha.

    Thank you!

  • Dwarf Hamster questions!?

I currently have a long haired Syrian hamster named Mo. I have had Mo since Yan Kippur. I have been wanting to get a dwarf hamster before I got Mo, but when I went to go to petsmart the dwarf hamsters wet very very hyper and very aggressive and just not a good choice at all. So I went to petco and got Mo. The previous Saterday and a couple days ago I went to my favorite petsore and I played and handled young dwarfs hamsters. They were so cute and that expirence totally changed my opinion about dwarfs and now I really want one. And it won't be a problem to take care of one or even a few. So my question is:if I could actually get one, would it be better to buy 1 or 2 dwarfs? Also is the critter trail Xtreme a good choice for a cage? Also I would really like if you could give you opinion about dwarf hamsters!

    Thanks!

  • Ferret questions! Please help!!!?

Ok so I was feeding my 2 boy ferrets raw meat inside their cage today. I ran out of there regular food which I will buy first thing in the morning. ( they've Ben withought ferret food only from this morning, but I fed them raw meat). Anyway so I have the first price to the older one and right away the younger one (7-8months old) snatched it right out of his mouth. At the same time he also bit the older one and I heard a cry. Asa I saw that he snatched the meat I picked him up with the price still in his mouth, and he started screaming and I think he even hissed at me. So I seperated the 2 ferrets so they won't be snatching each other meat. When I was done I put the younger one back wih the older one in the cage and I realized that I had one more price left. So I have it to the younger one and he snatched it right out of my hand acting aggressive, and drew blood. Idk if this was just because he was really hungry? Which he shouldn't have been that hungry like he acted! They finished the food that morning and I feed them in the after 3 or 4:00

I told my dad this and he thinks that the older ferret is carrying some sort of desiese! And I asked him what made him feel that way and he replied that almsot same thing happened to my previous ferret( the brother of the older one k have right now. The brother unfortunly passed away. His bame was damon .And we tried almost everything we could, but he was suffering too much so we decided to put him to sleep) first Damon was fine then he started loss in weight and then starting bitting and not acting normal then he would just act like he had rabies (but he didn't) and just bite and draw blood at a randomness time.

Anyway I hope my dad isn't right because if the older one is carrying a desiese the. I dont know what to do.

Thanks so much and if you need carafication please say so!

  • Would this be a good "hidey hut"? And is it safe?

Hello. So for my Syrian hamster I want to make him a place were he could burrow and sleep. I do have a blue igloo for him but I want to try this. I have a clear juice bottle that is empty and I was wondering if I could put cozy bedding and/or tissue paper in it . Here is a picture of the bottle( mine is empty and clear)

Would it be safe to do this? Of course I will keep the lid off so he can enter and exit. Also would I need to cut holes it in? Or is the lid opening fine?

    Thanks

  • Hamster questions!!!!! Is this normal? And what cage?

Hello so I just got a male teddy bear hamster(Syrian) on wed(yam kipor) and I have a cage but he keeled escaping it so I put him in 18 gallon bin. I don't think the bin is permanent cuz he will be gettjng alot bigger and the bin is already small ish to fit all his stuff. Anyway j was wondering what I should do with his cage? Should I buy a new one? If so wich one? Or should I buy a bigger bin cage? If so how big?

Also I have another question: what exactly does it mean for a hamster to be tame? I mean my hamster let me pick him up and pet him and is rely nice so is he tame? He hasn't shown any sign of trying to nibble or bite me. Also he does take treats from me. Is this fine? How do I let him take treats from me? Also what are the best types of veggies and treats?

    Thanks

  • Hamster questions? Too much stress?

Ok so I finally got my hamster that I have dreamed of! I got him yesterday night from petco. He is a teddy bear hamster and is so handsome. Anyway I know that your supposed to leave the hamster alone for a few days to let it settle down, but I was picking him up sometimes, like when I have to move him. Anyway so he already escaped 4 times from his cage that I used for my previous hamster and she didn't have a problem with it an never escaped from the cage. Also I saw how he espaceped from his cage one time so I put him in a storage bin. It's not big enough but it's also not permi it but it will do for now. So my question: did I do the right thing? Will this cause too much stress for him? I can't really block off of where he got of from of the cage so thys why I put him in the bin for now with his, food, water that j tapped up to side, and 2 sleep houses or whatever you call them , haha

    Thanks!

  • What would be better? (Ferret bedding question)?

Hello. So since winter is on its way I need to go shopping for ferret bedding. So my question is: should I buy hammocks and others things from my local petsore or should I go buy the fleece material and make it my self? I need the cheaper option and the better option.

    Thanks!
