I have to solve this question. What is the pH of the following solution? 1L of 0.5M leucine buffer (pH 9.6) to which is added 1L of 0.1M NaOH.

My problem is I have no idea how to start for this one. I know I have to use the Hebderson-Hasselbalch equation, but notch at that. I've checked my course notes posted by my professor (they're too poorly organized to follow) and I've checked my textbook and couldn't find any way to make sense of this.

I understand that it's a term sometimes used in theatre, but I'm not exactly sure how it came about. Can anyone clarify?

According to my predictions, both salts that could be formed by this combination are soluble in water.However, in the lab this combination produced a white precipitate and smelled like eggs. Is there a secondary reaction that I'm overlooking?

I found two crocosmia bulbs in a tin full of seed packets in my cupboard and have no idea how old they are (I'm guessing several years old). They are dry and firm, so I don't think they've rotted. What I want to know is if they might still grow if I were to plant them and what I might do to increase their chances of growing. Thanks in advance! :)

This is the question:

A police vehicle is approaching an intersection at 40 m/s. At the moment when the police car is 140 m away from the inter section , the vehicle of a known fugitive crosses the intersection at 30 m/s. The policewoman turns her spotlight on the vehicle. How fast is the light beam turning 2 seconds after the fugitive's vehicle crosses in front of the police vehicle.

I know that i have to find the rate at which the angle is changing between the two vehicles in order to find the rate at which the light beam is turning, but I haven't been able to figure out how to find that.The police car is moving to the east (right) and the fugitive car is moving to the north (upwards).

I know it's long, but please read the whole thing.

He and I were going out for a couple months, he was my first kiss, and we were really happy together. I mean, I don't usually warm up to anyone very quickly, but with him things seemed so easy. The first time I brought him home, we were friends and my dad seemed to think that he was a nice guy. Went we got home from our first date however, my dad flipped because we got home late and I didn't call, which was my fault. My dad got mad right in front of him (really awkward and embarrassing) but apparently my boyfriend said something that struck my dad as controlling ( when i asked what he said, my dad told me he couldn't remember) and suddenly this "nice guy" was no good. After that, my dad and my older sister kept going on about it and how they thought I could do better and how much time I was spending with him and how much time he wanted with me.

Things got to a point where I couldn't even mention anything about him without getting lectures from them, which upset me.

One night, after my boyfriend asked if I could meet his parents over Facebook, my sister and my dad went on again that I should break-up with him. So, feeling pressure from them constantly in my ear, I did. I didn't even really explain things to my ex. Things ended up getting nasty over chat because I said I didn't want any contact with him anymore (again by my family's advice). He and I haven't said anymore than an awkward "hey" to each other while passing each other in the hall at school. I feel really bad about how things ended between us and wish they had ended on better terms.

I miss him so I told my Dad how I felt but now he tells me that breaking up with him was my choice, so now I'm like "what". The whole subject is a sore spot between my Dad and I at home. The point is, I miss my ex, I'd at least like to be friends again, but I also don't want my dad upset with me or thinking that I'm being stupid. What should I do? I feel horribly about what happened.

About a month ago (mid to late July) I was riding my bike and I decided to push myself and ride up a steep hill. I made it but about 2/3 of the way up I felt a slight pop (like when you crack your knuckles) and a sharp ache on the front-right side of my right knee. I walked beside my bike for a while after that and it didn't hurt anymore so I didn't think anything of it.

When I got home however, my knee would hurt a lot (I'm talking nearly debilitating) when I would bend my knee while putting weight on it. Some examples of when it would happen are : bending to sit down and getting up afterward (not while sitting), climbing up and down staris, crouching, and getting up after lying on my stomach for a while.

Otherwise, my knee doesn't hurt; I can walk and run with it, even jump if i don't crouch down too low. If I bend my knee in the air I feel a slight pressure as if it wants to click and sometimes it does click.

A month later, my knee still hurts when doing the things I listed. My knee doesn't hurt as much as it did, but sometimes the pain gets worse, especially if I've had to climb stairs a lot in one day.

In short, what injury could my knee pain be caused by, and what should I do to fix it?

P.S. I'm only nineteen and thanks for reading through all of this, I wanted to give as accurate information as possible.

I just bought a game called "Beware the Ultimate Evil of the Warlock" but when I put the game in the console, I get stuck in the opening menu. I can switch between the two available options ( Begin and Preparations) but no matter what button I push, I can't actually select either option.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Help is greatly appreciated.

Four days ago, I banged my big toe. The thing is, it stopped hurting today but now it won't stop clicking. Is there anyway to stop it and what type of toe injury would have caused it?

I'm knitting a pair of mittens and I've reached the point where I'm shaping the thumb. I am currently on the following step.

11th row: K27. Turn. Cast on 1 st. P13 (including cast on st). Turn. Cast on 1 st. K14. ***Beg with a purl row, work 9 rows in stocking st.

The problem is, I'm not sure whether or not I'm supposed to turn it again before starting to purl or if I'm supposed to continue without turning first.

I'm stuck in my knitting (again). The instructions say to:

"Break the yarn. Thread end through remaining stitches. Draw up and fasten securely. Sew thumb seam."

It sounds simple enough to me. The thing is, I've never done this before as the only thing I've knitted Prior to this was a scarf.

I'm working on knitting a mitten and I'm confused about what this instruction is trying to tell me to do. this is the instruction:

11th row: K27. Turn. Cast on 1 st. P13 (including cast on st). Turn. Cast on 1 st. K14. ***Beg with a purl row, work 9 rows in stocking st.

I'm at the point where is says "beginning with a purl row..."

I'm not sure whether I need to continue the row I'm working on using a purl stitchor if I'm supposed to turn my work around and continue from there.
